Honestly a great thing to do, especially if you're a nail biter and your nails are naturally thin, paint your nails like all the time. Keep them painted. Use gel polish or a gel like polish because the color lasts longer on your nails and acts as a temporary hard base to make your nails a bit harder/stiffer. It'll also help remind you not to bite or tare your nails off. And also take daily vitamins. Eat more fresh fruits and veggies. That is also important. And invest in cuticle oils.

Thanks for these tips! I’ve been learning to do my own nails (gel, rubber base, and hybrid gel) at home since the pandemic. My first foray into manicures left my nails so brittle I was disappointed and annoyed because I used to have thick strong nails and ended up weak. But then I learned it was my method and I needed practice. And you’re so right about diet. I began skipping meals regularly and noticed my nails didn’t grow as fast and my hair fell in clumps. Nails are back to regular but my hair isn’t 🥲

I became ill, (diabetes and heart disease,) and had to start using Splenda shakes several times a day. After a month of two 13gram protein shakes a day, my nails are like stainless steel! And they are thick and healthy all the way down the nail bed and to the cuticle.

For the science question asked in the video: Supplements only work if your deficiant. Taking more than recommended will either be peed out or will actually have the opposite affect. The reason why there is a myth about supplementa is actually due to prenatals! We use to think prenatals may help hair and nail growth, but we found out it was actually the estrogen produced while pregnant. There are aome hormones out there that *potentially* could help (such as rogain for hair). But for that youd have to ask a doctor

I started growing out my natural nails as well due to a gel allergy I developed from not realizing i was under curing my gel x dupes. I was also a nail biter & was so sick of the habit. I felt gross and embarrassed and I feel like I was over it after 17 years of biting I just quit cold turkey. It gets way easier the longer the nail gets.

Con for gel is the uv led light is uv and has uvb rays. Over use will cause rapid skin aging on hands and is still linked to skin cancer. Its why im considering dip powders ( if anyone has any articles debunking how unhealthy uv lights are please link and i miss doing my gels )

I don’t think you should you a nail strengthener because it makes it easier to break so use a cuticle oil instead and it makes them less prone to breaking and more flexible so instead of breaking they just flex!

Girl, I feel ya on all of this! Especially nail biting. Luckily, I also stopped this 2023, and now I can proudly say that I am no longer a nail biter hehe, I no longer find myself trying to unconsciously bite it lmao. If I do, I take a stop and appreciate my (now) long nails and feel proud, seeing it with acrylics/press ons hahaha. Thanks for the tips! Been experimenting with how to take care of my nails now that I have them longer. :)

I have paper thin nails... Like actually, they are thinner than paper. You can see through them and they bend completely in any direction, I can fold them into a 90° angle 😂 (I have a chronic illness)
healthy diet is key for strengthening, but it takes months for a healthy diet and nutrients to actually affect your nails/skin/hair. Need to be consistent for 3+ months, and then stay consistent afterwards to keep results. Keep in mind that genetics, diet, health, and life style affect your nails/skin/hair, and so some things you may not be able to change. Water is nails enemy, never shower with bare nails! Water makes your nails and hair extremely fragile and prone to breakage and damage.

Hi, glad I came across your channel. Thanks for the tip about protecting your cuticles when soaking off the dip/acrylic. What was the yellow cream/gel you were using with the cuticle oil? I didn’t see it in your storefront. Also, you always use regular files and not an efile? Any particular reason why? Thank you 😊

The traumatic experience I have with biting my nails was when I was like 5-6 and the boy I liked caught me biting my nails and doing the most disgusted face 😢 Either way it took me a while (until 9 grade) to be able to refrain from biting them but still sometimes I need to use press-ons because picking at my nails (not biting anymore but picking) is triggered by my anxiety, I don’t know if that is correctly explained but is still a struggle 😭

Hi, a few days ago i picked the gel off my nails.. My nails were red because they were soo thin and if i touched them it hurted soo much. I want to put gel on them again, so that if anything touch the nails, they don’t hurt. Also the cold outside makes them painful :(. Can i put gel on top for a bit, so that they can groe out? I cannot live with those painful nails on a normal day :(

Nailtek 2 and Nailtek 3 nail repair saved my gel damaged nails! The nail industry is an expensive con! My nails were long, thick and strong thrn gels ruined them!
CND Solar pil, coconut oil and vitamins saved my poor, painful peeling nails. Paper thin, snapping ouch!!
And MTSSII gel basecoat & topcoat. ARTE Clavo basecoat and Vynn Tape Bond aid repair!
All an experience y9 forget! Coconut oil! Uk 🇬🇧

3:34 They’re not a scam. Hair skin and nail vitamins are just biotin which is REALLY good for all of those things. I take biotin and it REALLY helped strengthen my hair and nails both and I do recommend it. You must make sure the hair and nail vitamins have biotin in them though or it is likely a scam
Edit: lol never mind you mention biotin. Yeah pretty much all hair skin and nail vitamins are just biotin with a few other vitamins added like iron and stuff

Also, a reminder, no one is going to look that closely at your nails. Literally no one.
I’m just realizing that. Like, even in photos/videos, I can’t even see the little things I angst over, and everyone else is only saying how cute or nice they look. Oblivious to the mistakes.
