Eddie could be a great motivator for endurance runs. "See that guy? If he gets you, he will eat you - better start running." Jokes aside, I'm very impressed by his run.
It's really interesting how Eddies immense strength enables him to do really advanced, heavy lifts but at the same time the muscle mass needed to do that makes normal exercises difficult.
This is a pretty standard thing in the military. Big, muscly dudes generally do not make good athletes or combat arms tradesmen. There are a few MOS' that require it, such as pallbearers, but that's extremely rare.

@Just Some Guy without a Mustache to hell with you. You say those things about Israel without even knowing us. We could've easily made Israel a Jewish only country when the arab nations tried attacking us together in the six day war after 1948 but we have more than 2m arabs living in our country. What happens when you as a jew go into an arab town? You get assaulted, rocks are thrown at you and they're trying to kill. You think Israel are the one organising the attacks on Gaza and striking first? No. Hamas attacks us with a s**t load of missiles. The only reason we don't have thousands of dead people is the iron Dome and our military. Every assault on Gaza results in civilians dying because these basterds hamas use them as meat shield. Try visiting israel for once before judging. People here are welcoming and we have the most humane army in the world ( litterly we never give death penalties and never kill fckin terrorists). You think we're evil cause you have no idea about what's going on. I thought people would learn after the Holocaust that being antisemitic only results in death and begins a cycle of hatered. We just want to live in peace without recieving death threats from everyone. If the US weren't supporting us and our army wasn't powerful, Hitler's goal to exterminate Jews would've been accomplished accomplished. We desire peace. But you people judging us without having a clue is what stops it from happening. Mark my words: world war 3 is going to happen soon and it won't end until either Israel or the arab nations are dead and nobody wants to burry his brothers and family in the ground

You guys are awesome for trying the PST. You asked for the critique, so here it is: Push Up: You must go fully up & down and no resting with your butt up in the air (looking at you, Ross) Sit Up: Arms must be crossed on the chest. Pull Up: You must go fully up & down. No kipping, swinging etc. Swim: You must use the breaststroke or Combat Swimmer Stroke, which is slower than freestyle. By the way, I was not a Navy SEAL; however, I was a Navy EOD Technician. Navy SEAL and EOD use the same PST Standard (but EOD is a bit easier). And to be fair, I probably wouldn't be able to bench press half the weight that you guys do; additionally, I would have drowned before I hit the half way point around Britain ; ) Cheerio!
Idk this test seems very easy is there a minimum of weight you must have. Because this exercises are very easy for me and I taught the navy seals are beasts. Sorry for my bad english im from switzerland.
@@Schimi24 : This is just a "basic" physical test. And just because you can meet the "minimum" physical requirement, it does not mean that you will get a contract to "try" to become a Navy SEAL. Example: If the Naval Special Warfare Command (NSWC) is giving out only 100 contracts and there are 1,000 applicants, then only the "top 100" performers would receive the contract. And out of those 100 people that have the contract, only about 20-25 people will graduate from the training to become a Navy SEAL in the end (Navy SEAL Training Pipeline or BUD/S has about 75-80% attrition rate). In order to join the regular Navy to begin with, you will have to meet the height & weight requirement.
When I was in high school, one of our phys-ed teachers was a retired Marine colonel. His name was Joe Molitoris. He was not only a great teacher but the best motivator I have ever met. I was a skinny 5 foot 10 inch 135 pounds but I was highly competitive and pound for pound one of the strongest kids in school. Thanks to coach Mol, our gym classes were tested against the Marine Corps physical fitness tests. Always wanting to be the best I looked up the requirements for passing, elite, and found the state records for high school students. When I got to sit-ups I saw that the record for 11th graders was 76 reps in 2 min. I was certain I could beat that and focused on owning that record. On the day of the sit-up test, we were told that 70 was a 100-point score. I told the coach I was going for the record and he said 76 reps in 2 min. is going to be tough, do you think you can do it? I told him I was doing 80 in practice and felt sure I can do it. When word got around, the gym started to fill up to see if this not-so-star athlete could do this. I was up first and was moving pretty well until around 60 I started cramping. It was all I could do to get 70 and score 100 points. I was so upset with myself that I asked the coach if I could try again by going last. That gave me around 30 min to stretch out the cramps. My classmates thought I was nuts because I already had 100 points. I just said "Because I can do 80 '. I did 80 reps with a few seconds left, but 80 was my wall.
Good story Michael. You should be proud of yourself for persevering. Did you call your teacher Colonel or Mr. Molitoris? I like to address retired officers as their rank as I think it shows respect.
At age of 14(8th grade) my cousin(2 years younger) and I went challenge mode. I was doing 100 press bends in one take(around 3:smth), 50 push-ups(hell knows how many time it took, I presume a bit more than 2 minutes), climbed to 15 pull-ups. Never made a run though. Even then, a 48 KG teenager of mine would literally die in attempt to do all the things within time, taking only 2 minutes rest in between! And we were some kind of "sporty" guys back then!
To be fair to Eddie, 90% or more of people in Eddie's weight category would not be able to finish that run without passing out or having a heart attack on the spot. The fact he got through that shows what an athlete he is, willing to push himself or die trying... Sidenote.... Having a superheavyweight chase you down like that is kinda scary
It's actually super surprising that he got it at such a pace. I've seen lads half his weight do it in much worse times. Heck, my best time was 10:56 and I can't seem to get it under that! As much as Eddie can come across arrogant, he's an elite tier athlete and for being 26 stone he smashed that run.. Any weight above 18 stone doing that is impressive.
What you gotta love about Eddie is he may seem arrogant at times, but like his shirt says, he backs his bullshit up. And he's a fair sport when he losses a challenge.
Norway 2001, Basic training in the Royal Norwegian Navy, athletics company.. *He was there* about 250lbs, about 200cm tall, everyone thought he was a robot or some kind of genetic experiment.. He never got tired, never showed any sign of weakness, he could outlift and outrun everyone, and if you stopped running to puke, just hearing him come running would make you start sprinting, the dude was terrifying! Like a white Dwayne Johnson, but mean AF.. But I`m glad that guy was there back in the day, because now I use him as workout motivation, I simply imagine him coming after me when I start feeling lazy :D
@. in the sense that he should have more subs and more recgonition on social media. Love his content, his swim around GB should have had wayyy more views. Absolute machine the guy
As a guy who have experienced what it feels like to jog after so long of inactivity and weighing much less than Eddie, I gotta say Eddie is a beast for running those distance with that time.
@@tysonangeles1568 The reason why I said what I said in my comment is because I used to be really heavy way back and I'm very active during those time. Now I'm like 20-ish kg lighter than before, but I'm way less active. When I started running again quite recently, I feel like I don't struggle as much as I did back then, and when I started that running, I was expecting to be at worse state than when I weight much more but more active, cause I thought I have more stamina back then. That tells me that having huge body weight is a huge handicap for running. Being active definitely helps for sure, but being too heavy significantly reduces your performance during running, at least that's what my experience is. That's why I applaud Eddie to be able to run that distance with those time even with something like 70+ kg of weight difference between him and me. Also, my current running time compared to his running time in this video is actually not that far off, which is why I'm even more in awe. I definitely wasn't trying to say that Eddie's not an active guy lol, I was saying that I was the one who's very inactive until recently. I've followed Eddie for quite a while now, I know a lot of stuffs that he's done. Hope that clears that up, cheers.
Eddie is such a brit and a bro. If I had someone like him egging me on, I would go way further then I normally do. He honestly wants YOU to perform better and no hostile, jealous bone in his body. Lovely AND motivational.
I'd love to see Eddie try the NFL Combine tests. At least there's an analog to how other athletes that are 300+ pounds perform in the test. I wonder how Eddie's 40 time would compare with Offensive lineman, as well as broad jump, vertical, shuttle, and bench press.
On top of this, we even have stats by Eddie's favorite, strongman, Mr. Robert Oberst to compare to. I found OB's numbers from the combine to be: 40 5.30 SS 4.87 VJ 30.5 Bench 37 10yd 1.97 20yd 2.99
NFL players have, without a doubt, inflated height/weight stats. I see people there who are a tiny bit larger than me, maybe 5 kg heavier looking and shorter and they say they're almost 20 kg heavier. At least they'll have the PEDs in common haha
@@duanecameronson He's made millions of dollars playing an amateur level sport, so it worked out pretty well for him. You can dislike him all you want, but the guy was an elite swimmer before becoming the World's Strongest Man. If you think he wouldn't compare favorably to Offensive/Interior Defensive lineman at the combine events, we'll just have to respectfully disagree. Troll on, mate.
I swan with Eddie when I was younger. Can confirm he was a fucking beast. I was the fastest in the UK for my age ( I went on to compete in the olympics). Eddie wasnt much slower than me ad 2 years younger. Genetic freak

You got this man! I’m 195lbs and it’s a bitch running but I always threw in mild cardio with my powerlifting workouts. I ran a mile in 9:46 a week ago and shaved off a bit to get it at 8:13. I’m trying to join the navy and want to do the 1.5 mile run in 9 mins.
@@Supremebean303 You got this! The 1.5 mile run is all about practice. Grew up on a military base and that's what Conditioning (PE) class made us do on a weekly basis. My best time was 9:15 at 255.
Dude! Nothing but respect! Especially for that run! 11:27 for a mile and a half is much better than an average guy, and no offense, but you're MUCH bigger than an average guy. (All muscle, but still, it takes a TON of energy to carry around that much muscle). Good job man!
Props for admitting he had to kick up while doing pull ups. He's a really big guy and these exercises aren't really meant for them (or are much harder for them to do). Wow can't believe he did that run too. His vascular is in very good shape for such a big guy. His stiff head while running is a clear indicator he's not a "runner". Which makes it all the more impressive
If you guys actually wanted to know: For the NSW PST you must complete it in the order of: Swim → push up → sit up → pull up → run SWIM: must be either combat swimmers' stroke (CSS) or breast stroke, some warrior challenge mentors will not allow breast stroke because it's seen as a faster stroke, pools vary between 25 yards and 25 meters, the test is supposed to be 25 yards but again, the chief can pick to make things a little harder if they give you a meter pool they adjust from 500yd swim to 450m PUSH UPS: resting is only granted in the locked out position but you must maintain a rigid core in a "plank", aka no sagging and no raised butt. Officially you come down to a fist or if a fist is not used then 90° bend at elbows. Some chiefs will require you to the floor. SIT UPS: hands (not just fingers) are placed on traps, no "rocking" sit ups, must go down until scapula hits the floor (shoulders can remain off floor) and up until your elbows touch your upper thighs, no swinging of elbows either, must rest in seated up position PULL UPS: must be pronated grip, no regripping allowed, rest as long as you want from hanging position (some chiefs change this) and no kipping allowed, must be what's known as a "dead hang" pull up RUN: 1.5 mile run, sometimes on a track, sometimes on a path, changes based on location of test given, typically they pick the hardest way to do it. TIME: Overall you have specific rest times, noted as 2 minutes between calisthenics and 10 minutes before/after the cardio vascular events PASSING: passing does not mean you're given an NSW contract, however minimums are on the NSW website. Typically people don't care about the minimums because they mean nothing anyway. To secure a contract you have to be competitive in your district. There are theories of "auto qualification scores" which change based on who you ask/when you ask. But the theory is that a competitive standard must be met typically around these numbers 9:30/75/75/15/9:30 sometimes better scores than that are even suggested.
Very informative. These videos of people passsing the navy seal fitness test are a joke to me. But impressive for a Man this size to move like this. When I was training 9:30/100/100/20/9:00 was competitive. And CSS IS PREFERED because it is an efficient stroke and lowers your profile in the water
There's nothing harder than knowing you're well behind but you've still got to keep up, that "why didn't I just run faster to begin with" doubt. Once you're past it you know it's all about the struggle. It's great to see Ross' motivation and mindset at work, Eddie's always a pleasure too but the pair of them make a good combo. Some hard working men right there.
Australian SASR test, 50 cadence push ups, 8 minimum pull ups, 3km run while holding 10kg, 90 minute ruck with 35kg in backpack and finally 800m swim in 16 minutes. Good luck!

You guys are awesome for trying the PST.
You asked for the critique, so here it is:
Push Up: You must go fully up & down and no resting with your butt up in the air (looking at you, Ross)
Sit Up: Arms must be crossed on the chest.

@@tysonangeles1568 I was referring to me who's being inactive, not him lol.
Big big respect for you Eiddie... you are really hero... what you did are miracle for heavy man...
If you guys actually wanted to know:
For the NSW PST you must complete it in the order of:
Swim → push up → sit up → pull up → run
SWIM: must be either combat swimmers' stroke (CSS) or breast stroke, some warrior challenge mentors will not allow breast stroke because it's seen as a faster stroke, pools vary between 25 yards and 25 meters, the test is supposed to be 25 yards but again, the chief can pick to make things a little harder if they give you a meter pool they adjust from 500yd swim to 450m
PUSH UPS: resting is only granted in the locked out position but you must maintain a rigid core in a "plank", aka no sagging and no raised butt. Officially you come down to a fist or if a fist is not used then 90° bend at elbows. Some chiefs will require you to the floor.
SIT UPS: hands (not just fingers) are placed on traps, no "rocking" sit ups, must go down until scapula hits the floor (shoulders can remain off floor) and up until your elbows touch your upper thighs, no swinging of elbows either, must rest in seated up position
PULL UPS: must be pronated grip, no regripping allowed, rest as long as you want from hanging position (some chiefs change this) and no kipping allowed, must be what's known as a "dead hang" pull up
RUN: 1.5 mile run, sometimes on a track, sometimes on a path, changes based on location of test given, typically they pick the hardest way to do it.
TIME: Overall you have specific rest times, noted as 2 minutes between calisthenics and 10 minutes before/after the cardio vascular events
PASSING: passing does not mean you're given an NSW contract, however minimums are on the NSW website.
Bro chilllll
Very informative. These videos of people passsing the navy seal fitness test are a joke to me. But impressive for a Man this size to move like this. When I was training 9:30/100/100/20/9:00 was competitive. And CSS IS PREFERED because it is an efficient stroke and lowers your profile in the water

That run of 1.5 miles in 11.27 is just insane to me. I'm not even half Eddie's weight, and the best I've managed over that distance is 12.50.
It's a 7:38 mile time. Pretty dang good.
You're unfit
2 buff men battling out on a rock-paper-scissors game is probably the most intimidating thing I've ever seen
The fishes where he pissed will be jacked by the end of the month. However, the fishes will also experience the side effect..DEHYDRATATION.
They will be mutants from roids.
Better pour in some cranberry juice for them as well.
If anyone doesn’t need to be armed to be intimidating, then it’s Eddie.
@@effects4days821 I would love to see you say this to his face....
@@effects4days821 Lol. Imagine being so petty you need to troll his videos, bitch about a fair win and moan on someone else's comment.
Get some sleep and wake a better individual.
Effects4days get a grip
@@matthewlaunchbury265 guys @effects4days still lives with his mummy hes only a wee boy. He's no woke up yet and had his cornflakes....
Albert Cole I gave his videos a free view AND a free dislike for being a dumbass 😊😂
I maxed all my PT tests in the Army @ 225 pounds... this is a whole new level... Nice work big man. ... Ross, yeah we all knew you could do it, bro you swam around the fricken island.
So you're telling me if Eddie tries a little more and trains a little harder around the calisthenics and gymnastics area....he could become batman?!
That's one big Batman!
He’s rich
Can lift 1000 pounds
He is Batman
This man eats 10k calories a day. He is bat man
I he trains more harder of course that can become a eddie hall
Yes and that’s like old school cartoon big muscle Batman at that
Eddie running at 2x speed is so memeable
I also put it on 2 times and it's the greatest thing ever lmao
it looks hilarious lmao
Can he even run? Probably i walk faster than he "runs".
@@Killerkarotte1 probably cause the guy is 3x your weight lmao
@@lancetheking7524 Thx Captain obvious for proving that extreme weight lifting has nothing to do with fitness. ^^
I hope we see more collab of Eddie and Ross, all videos with these two are pure gold.
This channel is quickly becoming a safe space for me when my mental health is bad ❤
It looks like a strangely over sized person is chasing a normal adult
yes
That navy seal is far from a normal adult 😂
normal adult is chasing fitness girl :)
"normal adult" =ross edgley fr
Imagine being chased by a zombie version of Eddie hall that wants to eat you.....!!!
Who else sees Eddie putting in more work than Thor 👀💯
than*
Wayyyyyyy more work. He wants it and you know it. The only thing Thor has is his height
@@boxy2441 nah fam
As Thor would say
BA-BA-BA--BAA
Thor will crush him
Eddie definitely the most motivational human being out there like doing a test designed for people half his weight like wow!
@Ryan Chetty and a 3rd of his strength
Ross is that one hyper extrovert friend. Full of energy, and can go and go and go and doesn't stop. Seems like he'd be fun to invite basically anywhere
I was thinking the same thing... love his energy. It's intense without being annoying... real people person.
@@johndeeregreen4592facts
7:30 mile at 360lbs?? That’s actually phenomenal
That's what I'm sayin!!
He's been training hard since his retirement it's all over his UA-cam channel. There's no way Thor can catch up with such a lead in conditioning on Eddie's side. Hopefully thor can get in better shape and sharpen his boxing skills.
@R M Jesus, that's slow man. You gotta work on your speed.
So glad to see Ross back on the channel you two are so funny together.
21:47 Eddie going up and down is just so funny while chasing someone smaller than him
when they were jogging eddie looked like a dark souls boss chasing ross😂
No wonder Ross was so fast he had the world's strongest Man Eddie hall chasing after him 💪💯
This guy doesn't need a DNA test. It's obvious his ancestors were Vikings.
Little do people know
Vikings were pretty smol guys, like below avarage compairing to nowadays
@@shurochi6505 They were shorter but they had more bone density due to constant physical efforts
all of these are quite accurate the reason people feared them wasn't their size at all it was their overpowering will, fearlessness, fighting abilities and strength
also they were known to do shrooms before battle to be more on edge (i could be wrong there not 100% sure) but also some went into battle nearly naked so you see these guys coming you run the other way
i would personally love to see an accurate representation of a battle between the vikings and the spartans and samarai
@@shurochi6505 they were short compared to modern, but giants compared too medival people. And with proper food today they would be very tall. That’s why average hieght in Nordic countries is so high
@@kingoftheblobs6039 there were certain types of Vikings, the “berserker” term came from the front line of Vikings that would be high off psychedelics so they wouldn’t have any fear
Watching Eddie swim against Ross was like watching a speed boat racing a freighter ship. One was stupid fast where as the other one is fast enough and absolutely unstoppable
Eddie: "Ready? 3, 2, 1, go!"
UA-cam: Ad in 3, 2, 1, AD
This man synchronised his midroll countdown with his video lol.
