The pond is looking great chris, i dont know anybody on youtube with as much experience as you with these i think your the guy most likely to find the diamond in the ruff.
Hey, Chris! 👋🏼 Thanks for explaining the process. I often wondered if it was done like the black/white rat experiments they taught us in science class. You have the best winter hobby. So much color, beauty, and life to keep you occupied. Thanks for sharing, buddy! 💚
Look at all the fry !! Some beauties in there for sure. I also can't get over how well the plants are doing in the tanks. Fish room is becoming a jungle quickly 😄
Omgosh Chris, they are all so adorable!! Ooh that “ki utsuri” shubunkin fry is looking very nice. Hope that one continues to develop for you! And you got some nice black & white ones too. Those are my favorites of your adult ones. Love the t-shirt my friend 😅😊🤗
Thanks Maureen. I think I have two ki utsuri style shubbs but have no idea how stable the colours or patterns are ...yet lol I really like the Shiro style too
I never realized that they could breed so small!😮 i also feed 2-3 sometimes 4 times a day depending if fry are involved. I particularly liked at 0:55 + the profile of Jupiter bearing down on the tank😭😭😭 and of course you know I’m kidding!!! I do have a weak sense of humor.!!Lovely video tremendously informative !❤⭐️
You did good this year, I see some nice ones, I'm doing almost the same thing your doing right now, hard to pick them out at this age, they change so much as they grow it's amazing.
Thanks Ty Yikes if you are learning from me... Haha Yes I have a few sarasaa comets... Red and white comet goldfish... And some Wakin goldfish.. regular body with a short double tail... Red / white Way more types of barbs ..
oooh, that mostly black one around 11$0ish caught my eye too. they are so pretty. is that a tank with outside painted and surrounded by wood to look like a pond?
Could you make a video talking about what you are looking for in the body shape (thick, then, long, short, smooth lines, etc...) and what you think needs improving or that you would like to see improving in the breeding stock you currently have. Thanks.
Great thinking. I may work on that over the winter.. It's difficult as I like long and shorter finned shubunkin. But ya, colour and body shape . Thanks again
Hello so my water (small town) has to much metal and or nitrates in it and my sponge filter keeps turning reddish and becomes clogged.. how much is too much water treatment because I’ve treated the water and it’s still not getting rid of the problem.. should I put more or just get water from the store idk I’m at a loss

This helps a lot. When you are purchasing a young fish and you're not sure what to look for, this info really helps!
Thanks so very much for this awesome comment. I just had to pin it for everyone to see

I try my best Nick.
They guys take a good two years before their colour stabilizes. But I don't have the room for that lol

Definitely need this hobby as there is way too much white and grey to take all winter long...

They are all coming along nicely my friend
Your fry are coming along nicely. Will be interesting to see how they develop over the coming months.
Thanks Jim. They seem to change week by week lol
You lucky one, here I cannot find fish with such a beautiful black colour's 👌👍
Thanks so much.
Either could I so I have been breeding them to achieve that

Some very nice fry with great potential. Hopefully you'll get the results you're looking for over the next few months. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I hope so but truly won't know for at least another year..
Their colours and patterns take longer than koi to settle in
Thanks buddy
Wow! You have some beautiful fry 😊!!!!

It definitely is a eye strain trying to sort these guys
Thanks again
Really very interesting, Chris! I had no idea that the black tends to give away to red after a while. Hope you have a nice weekend 🙂👍
Thanks so much.

So many great looking fish !
And kids
Another great video Chris 👍👍👍
Thanks Curtis. Would love to see more of your goldfish

They certainly change. I don't think I would buy a very young fish unless I knew it's parents lol
@@stubbsaquatics6080 Me either.

Hey Chris! What are your thoughts on mixing Wakin and Shubunkins in a 125 gallon?
@@jasonmillwood2893 hi Jason.
Ya that would look great
I plan on cross breeding them this year outside
@ so they will crossbreed?

Do.they.take.a.year.to.grow
They grow for several years but for their most growing in the first 3 years
I was a dissapointment for me when I would buy a young fish expecting it to maintain the same pattern as it gets bigger.
Yes. Totally agree.. like us some of us improve with age .. me not so much lol
