It's a joke, but this is actually completely realistic. If a full-size Nodachi or Uchigatana broke off at the hilt, it would often be reforged as a Wakizashi. This had purposes both spiritual (allowing a Samurai to continue to use his favored blade as a sidearm) and practical (saving metal, since making Katanas was expensive due to poor-quality Japanese ore).
The Zerotoichi: It's just the handle! Actual stats: Wrap assassin with additional -90% range. The ball is replaced by the Entire Sword Blade. Throwing it deals the 100 honor damage (unless you've killed with the handle) projectile functions like a Normal Half-Zatoichi. 65 damage, one shots other zatoichi, healing, etc.
I don't know how to feel about it not decapitating on kill. On the hand, it's realistic, and good attention to detail; on the other, decapitating would've been a lot more comical.
If the quarter zatoichi were a slightly bit larger and could be dual wield with a half zatoichi it would be funny to see soldier fighting with nite ichi-ryu like Musashi Miyamoto.
How about a half life zatoichi that just makes hl2.exe crash for your opponent if you kill them, but makes your hl2.exe crash if you sheathe it without getting a kill?
Quarter zatoichi should be a scout weapon +15% damage +25% health healed on kill +25% damage to players weilding the “half zotuichi” -20% swing speed +10% vulnerability while equipped Just to make it fun to play with: Gain 10% charge on hit Gain a small amount of charge by dealing damage with other weapons (approximately 1% per 10 damage) On full charge activate by pressing right click While activated: gives 25% damage bonus and +10% swing speed alongside a +50% health healed for 5 seconds (can only use melee)

Considering that a Zatoichi is a blind warrior, and the Half-Zatoichi refers to demomans eyepatch, I would assume a quarter zatoichi is someone with both eyes that needs glasses
We need a quad-zatoichi. (4x the zat with the unfortunate penalty of slicing yourself in half regardless of if you got any kill before switching and basically no firing speed but now there is no escaping its instakill aoe melee hitbox because it would be bigger than the cap area of harvest and you get uber for 4 seconds each kill with a 40x max base health over heal each kill.)
