Hello, I'm going to explain all the scenery. It's not mine, it belongs to a Russian youtuber whose channel is called: Prefessor Georgievsky. Dimash leaves nothing to chance, he gets involved in everything and everything from the beginning has its meaning.
At the beginning you see people with black capes, medieval style like their clothes. There are 9 women and 9 men all with lit candles. At the end of all of them is Dimash and if you look closely you see a big round light and another small flash of light. The lyrics as you say is "stranger in the land of strangers". He wants to start over but he also says that this place is familiar to him as if he had been there before but it is supposed to be the first time. When she sings after the chorus and makes those notes, the first one more serious and the second more acute that seems like a baby crying... Then she makes those two very high treble notes and at that moment, the ones with the candles put them all out.
Explanation: the 9 men and the 9 women represent the 9 months of pregnancy, whether it is a boy or a girl, the candles are the "lighting". The large final sphere represents the uterus of a pregnant woman and the small flash of light is the embryo... When it makes those sharp notes as if they were crying a baby, they extinguish the candles because the "delivery" or delivery has already taken place, already the child has been born and if we go back to the words of I feel that I know this place that has been before...
Meaning: REINCARNATION. In another life he has been reincarnated and lived there, I think in the medieval period and that is why he has the feeling of knowing the place. Knowing this already, you can see it again and everything will fit you.
Thank you very much for your reactions. I send you a hug from Malaga, Spain. 😘

Everyone, please don’t forget the music genius of Igor Krutoy. Dimash does his best singing with Igor‘s music, because it gives his voice a solid foundation on which to present itself. Plus, the music itself is worthy of an Oscar for best soundtrack. Igor is a master melodist - and his music is always perfect for Dimash.

Thank you so much for this fantastic analysis.🤩❤️👍
The Kobys is the ancient musical instrument, oldest in the world of strings.
I also adore Dimash's choice to finish constantants with that distinctive completion.
I am also in awe at the number of times that we have seen Dimash physically drop or jar and adjust the note to hold steady. Fancams make it even more unbelievable.
    I loved your knowledgeable insights.❤️👍
Dimash did struggle with dance at first but he has worked hard which shows in the smooth improvement in more recent years.
I agree that Dimash is a master storyteller. 🌹
My favorite vocal story is the one of "Samaltau", created from a letter a soldier sent home in 1916. I love how the music reflects the slow ploding beat of a soldier dragging himself forward to his doom.
Second is the true story of "Daybeak"/Bastau Concert. For this one I love how he changes his voice from narrator to child experiencing the trauma and loneliness.
If reacting to Daybreak get the performance off Gloria Wu's channel with subtitles and a short backstory.
Thank you Thank you for this amazing reaction❤️❤️❤️
    🥰🥰Hugs from a Canadian Dear🇨🇦

Olzhas Qurmanbek plays the kobyz, magnificent performer! Dimash had the great idea of including this ancient Kazakh instrument in the song composed by Igor Krutoy. (Another of his successes was including a sybyzgy in the cover of "Hello" by L Richie in "I am a Singer", China). Dimash is a vocal chameleon and a very good arranger. I hope the mothership never picks him up, his light is needed on Earth. Bravo Dimash!! 💐💐💐💐💐💐💐

There is a great purpose to Dimash's madness.. the lyrics tell the story and hold the key. I keep saying it time and time again.. Dimash is a prophet.. his destiny has yet to be revealed.
(While there may be different interpretations of Dimash Qudaibergen's "Stranger," the following interpretation is strictly that of Pete Smith.)
"Stranger" was released by Dimash during the beginning of the evacuation of Afghanistan and then also appropriate for Ukraine and the Gaza Strip. At the beginning, the swirling fingerprint behind Dimash denotes a very personal and epic experience.. this is about people. If you put one of these displaced people in Dimash's place as singing these words, it all becomes unmistakably clear. If I were leaving Afghanistan, or if I were anyone forcibly evicted from my beloved homeland, and having to begin my life all over again, if I have the strength, I would want Dimash to sing this to the world for me. He portrays them wandering bewilderedly to a new land and feeling haunting memories of their ancestors who had been there before. He highlights the diverse ethnicities of these displaced people with his voice, the complex variations of their cultures and with his four part melisma representing the desolation of men, women and children. How right on and how affective this is.. you can almost hear them crying. He has a way of making a hard point.. in a very magnificently poignant manner. Dimash and Igor at the piano and composer as well, are one of a kind, and there may not be others like them in a thousand years.. or perhaps never.
    Thank you.. great reaction.
Dimash offers a message with every song he sings.. he mourns death.. and the destruction of human life. This is Dimash's way of speaking to humanity.. with a voice that rings the bells in the sky. Take him for what you feel in your heart.. and believe what you feel.. for you are not alone.. there are many who do. He shines his light into the dark. His mind speaks to the darkness.. "Make way" he says, "my heart feels the stirrings of life." His heart aches with compassion.. the scars of war and the desolation of humankind have endured long enough. Grace has been born within him.. and grows… like a brewing storm.

As as classically trained musician, I really appreciate your respect for Dimash. Even though Dimash is also classically trained, you do not hold him to the Operatic pureness that you love and adhere to. Dimash is very respectful to the classics, but as you know, chose to do neoclassical music. Also, I speak Spanish fluently, and understand Portuguese and Italian enough to get the gist of the conversation. ☺️ English is TRULY difficult, and sometimes I feel for Dimash, when singing in English. Very hard to do. Especially while he is doing amazing gymnastics with his BEAUTIFUL VOICE! Thank you for your understanding and knowledge! ☺️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💗

I enjoyed your reaction! I like that you will mention things you don't like as well as those you do. I will suggest a couple of videos that I think really show Dimash's ability to tell a story with nothing but his voice. The first is "Samaltau" (about a young Kazakh man who is forced to fight in WW1 I believe and to leave his homeland and aging parents behind.) The second is "Ikanaide" which means "don't leave" or "don't go". Both were done for the Tokyo Jazz Festival during the lockdown and are performed in Dimash's studio. No stage, no fancy costumes, no choir. You may not enjoy "Ikanaide" as much since it does have a fair amount of breathy singing, but that's mostly in the beginning, and I really love it! His notes just float on the air! Anyway, I'd love to hear your take on them! I hope you will also react to "El Amor en Ti" which is sung in a much more classical style. Thanks! Enjoy! 🇨🇦

Daniel, thank you very much for sharing your professional analysis on Dimash. He is undoubtedly a great great artist, I really liked the analogy you made as a "storyteller", he uses his voice (of course), his body, his face, his hands, which are a very important element, to get us into the song. If it is perfection, I don't think so, but the whole thing feels "perfect" in the senses. I'm sure you'll really like Ikanaide, Samaltau (both from the Tokyo jazz festival), they are pure ART.
There is another version of this song Stanger that I also love, it makes some fantastic changes, personally, this other version impacts me more! (ua-cam.com/video/thbgh0qIscI/v-deo.htmlsi=lfN_k6Vb4RtmU3HY)

There is a reaction channel of a vocal coach and famous songwriter many of us enjoy. This matter of movement on stage and singing was talked about by the vocal coach. He himself was in Musical Theater for a time. He said that today, they train to be able to dance and do many strenuous movements while singing. It's pretty much required these days. Also, Aida Garifullina the famous, spectacular, gorgeous Opera Singer, posted a "short" of herself dressed in workout spandex👀(yes, you should see it) vocalizing while doing full-on pushups!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Take away; it can be done.😉

When Dimash falls, it isn't "violent". He has been doing this for years. He learned how to do it without jolting. (He also went almost up to a red belt in Taekwando, so maybe he learned to control his fall...?)
So I disagree with what I feel is an exaggerated use of the word "violent".
Considering I'm not a professional singer, for singers, maybe violent is the right word to use.
Still, I appreciate your review, and I enjoyed it.

This particular performance is especially atmospeheric, a real masterpiece of storytelling. The qobyz part add so much to the cinematic feel of it! That, btw, was Dimashes choice to add this traditional Qazaq instrument to the arrangement. Another great stylistic choice, a testiment to a the great musicianship and storytelling passion. Love it!

On the final sustained note, at the very end when he drops to his knees, there is a slight audible swell - I don't think the tone is completely the same when he does the "violent movement", it sounds to me like he's pushing even more air out at the very end as he drops, which sounds perfect to end the note of course, not to mention remarkable that he has that much air left at that point!

The kobyz or kylkobyz, or qobyz, is an ancient Turkic bowed string instrument, spread among Kazakhs, Karakalpaks, Bashkirs, and Tatars. The Kyrgyz variant is called the kyl-kyyak. The kobyz has two strings made of horsehair. The resonating cavity is usually covered with goat leather. Wikipedia

As long as I can afford it, and I can find a babysitter for my young son, I will keep going! Nothing beats his concerts!

When hearing Dimash, people usually ask "how." If you ask "who", the "how" will answer itself:
Who is Dimash? I, and a few others, call him the singer of the millennia because the range of musical genres, and his vocal range, 7.7 octaves, are like no other. From Kazakhstan, beginning his singing career at age 5 (he's 29 now, 2023), Dimash was accepted into the most distinguished music academy in his country. The world became aware of him in 2017 (when he was 22), during and after a Chinese singing contest called "Singer". His first digital music album "ID" went platinum in only 37 seconds after release, and 3x platinum in only one hour, and 5x platinum in only one day on Chinese music platforms In December 2019, he made his US debut in New York at the Barclays Center. Dears (those he calls his fans) traveled from 68 different countries, 43 states & 2 US territories, and was sold out. Now writing his Doctoral thesis for a PhD in Musicology/ Composing, received all his degrees with honors while simultaneously filling arenas and maintaining his performing career, a first! He has a bachelors degree in vocals, a master's degree in composition and is about to complete his PhD in musicology this year (2023).
Dimash sings in 14 languages, plays 7+ musical instruments, is a composer, an amazing vocalist, patriot, philanthropist and, despite his popularity and talent, is a very warm and humble person.
Dimash 2023-Vocal range: Growls (vocal fry): G0-G1
    Vocal Fry: G#1 - D2
    Chest voice: E2-C#5
    Mixed voice: D5-C6
    Head voice: C#6 - F#6
    Whistle: E7-D8
    Natural range: E2 - F#6 4.2 octaves
    *Full range: G0 - D8 7.7 octaves
    To put it in context:
He sings lower than bass in Opera. The lowest note is usually C2....and higher longer sustained whistle note.
Total Dimash range is G0-D8. By the way, a D8 is a couple of keys past the high end of a piano. And, I believe his Vocal Fry is off the low end of the keyboard.

Dimash is the best singer in the WORLD and there are no doubts about that, his voice is a prodigy of nature and a genetic marvel since his parents are two glories of singing from Kazakhstan since he was 5 years old, he sings publicly and has more than twenty years of lyrical training and graduated from the university of music, he is a singer, composer, arranger and multi instrumentalist, he plays more than seven musical instruments and sings in more than twelve(12) languages, he is also a great performer and a great artist who lives and feels music He is not an imitator of voices , Dimash has his own style and is one of the forerunners of the "POPera" he also has a very pleasant, HUMBLE and simple personality, easy access, which makes it very easy to follow, he always travels with His family and friends is a very educated person and an example to follow, he has become known for his musical talent not for getting into trouble or scandals, It has a very wide vocal range of approximately 7 octaves ,he is a singer with a wide vocal range very versatile is Baritone, TENOR , Soprano, counter TENOR, mezasoprano, everything at the same time is how to have 5 singers in one, it has a male and female voice, also many resources such as vibrato, "melismas", falsetto, Staccato, whistle tone, reaching a( D8 )live "Outside of Piano"at the concert of Gakku in an unforgettable day, at his young age he continues to improve and grow musically to perfection, he has a good physical presence he measures 191 cm or 6 "3", he is very famous and recognized in Asia and now he is becoming known In Europe and America, ALL their songs are spectacular, it always goes from low to high, soft to spectacular at the end, in my almost half a century of life I never heard so much quality and it is the hope of continuity of the classical genre because all the old tenors have already Almost all of them died and Dimash can sing like them but none of them can sing like Dimash, being a Man he sings better than any Tenor and his female voice is superior to that of any average Soprano, greetings and a hug from USA 🇺🇸 "Dears" Forever ❤️ Sorry for copying and pasting my informative comment in ALL the Video reactions to Dimash what I see but I do it with the intention of sharing information about him and what I think that in the music industry there are many artists who have been successful and have no talent and are bad people and they do not set a good example for the youth, Dimash and his music deserve to triumph in America, Europe and the whole WORLD, do you want to have already read my comment please come by without problem there is always someone who for the first time knows this information and I won't get tired of sharing it with all my friends"Dear" around the world, thanks for reading and for supporting Dimash 🙏🏻S.O.S. He never needed it and the poor guy was singing in top form with a pretty lousy sound system. It was thrilling to hear his voice live, but I much prefer the format of IL Volo. Their concerts are much more personable.

As a trained musician and vocalist, there are ways to train your muscles to not cause a break in sound during movement. I initially learned some techniques while learning marching, and marching is typically a jarring movement. It takes a certain amount of muscular control to make the movements as smooth as possible to provide support to the diaphragm without "knocking" it around. 😊

I've already watched, filmed, and edited that video. Unfortunately, the video was too long, and there was so much I had to say about it ,not just musically but thematically, that I wasn't satisfied with how the video turned out. I might discuss my views on the video in future livestreams (when I get a more consistent schedule). Overall, my experience was cathartic and poignant, but also a beautiful reflection of a light in the darkness; a hope for humanity's potential when completely surrounded by humanity's failures and darkness. I was moved by Dimash's performance
