I was thinking the same! Sorcerer was my favourite run of my entire souls career. So I was interested in seeing how he did. Then I saw the rules and I'm like "why have you decided to make this that much harder for yourself?" No boosting items would have been bad enough... But no boosts AND the most basic baby spell? That's not how hard is dark souls as a sorcerer? That's how hard can I make dark souls for a sorcerer?
The whole point is playing as the "starting class" even tho it is WAY HARDER and maybe boring to do I do enjoy the idea behind it, I think it is pretty cool honestly
While I don't disagree, I think the restrictions were a core part of the challenge. After all, without any it literally becomes "Watch me play Dark Souls normally but I just so happened to pick sorcerer."
I just did a sorcerer run to get 100% and yeah, it's fairly simple as long as you don't put challenge runs shenanigans on yourself. Why would you not use the bellowing dragoncrest ring? You buy that from a sorcerer and it's designed to help sorcerers. Misleading title. Video should be "How hard CAN I MAKE IT to play darksouls as a sorcerer?"
Yeah a normal run sorceror class was something akin to an easy mode for this game. I just wrapped up the platinum at the end of last year or maybe the beginning of this year and it was fairly simple.
idk if someone's already posted this, so forgive me if you've heard this before, but Priscilla's invisibility is broken by poise damage, not hp damage. an un-upgraded battle axe, claymore, or mace can hit her out of her invisibility in 2 hits because it does, like, 100 poise damage when two-handed.
Nice run Calv :) I can't say I didn't expect Soul Arrow to be bad, but I definitely didn't see it dropping off THAT hard. Especially with that damage against Artorias. That was pitiful. What this run did prove to me though is that even weapons like the dagger are actually pretty decent when properly invested into. It's crazy that something so small and weak can stand a reasonable chance against something like Manus even on the default upgrade path. Once again, very nice run! You certainly have more perseverance than I when it comes to fighting against seemingly impossible odds. Also, the humor was on point. I smiled many times while watching this. Keep it up man!
Yeah, I thought it'd be the bandit run again, but nope. I suppose the drop-off makes sense, since the game wants you to upgrade as you go, but I never thought it's be doing 14 damage against late game bosses.
I'm loving those runs! You got good editing, a good narration, and the patience/skills to complete stuff like that. Don't be discouraged by the people who don't understand the concept of challenge runs, this is good stuff you're making!
I tested it with an endgame build with max stats and fully upgraded gear and the strongest archery shot you can do (Composite bow at point blank range with heavy arrows) does about as much as a Great Soul Arrow...That's it. A build needing a +15 bow with 99/99 STR and DEX using the strongest arrow is only slightly weaker than the second tier of spell using 40 int. Sorcery is 100% easy mode
Your videos are fun and realistic (not extreme with exploits and modes) and i like your voice. Just some tips for your next videos: softcap for int is still 50, u can free aim priscila when u see her footprints in the snow, and u can escape centepede demon grap attack after it hit u. Keep the good work
Demon Firesage and Stray Demon can be beaten by staying behind them, near their tails. Both will go with either the ground pound attack or the close range magic blast to attack you, which are easy to dodge by rolling backwards.
When i did my sorcerer run i didn't pick the master key because i thought the magic build would be powerful enough to go through the game the intended rout. I was pretty much right.. I had little trouble until i went dawn to the tomb of the giants...
I find sorcery harder then melee in dark souls especially early game. The spell tracing involves positioning and timing more as it can miss or clip things. Collecting spells can be a grind also
I'll be honest, I don't understand why people say magic is ez mode in ds1. I actually find it easier to use melee plus lots of heavy armor and hp. For the Stray Demon, the best strat is to just hug his asshole. He can't hit you so long as you're behind him. Also, you really should've upgraded your dagger to magic or enchanted. You'd get way more damage out of it that way.
is about first half hour of the game of hell followed by you just mowing through everything in the second last with all the fancy equipment and spell you gathered, that was my experience with sorcerer in ds1
Of course it was tough (Don’t know if I spelled it correctly) Sorcerers are supposed to rely on a multitude of different spells not one singular spell They expected you to buy great soul arrow and soul spear and all the good stuff not soul arrow all the way
Took me 30 hours to beat nito with a strwngth onoy build. Took me only 20 for a sorceror build. Thats with grinding for good materials aswell. I grinded the little skeletons for humanities and souls for about an hour or 2 using the sorceror build aswell lol
You could have put those 40 levels into intelligence instead of dexterity and you would have been fine. Also. Your health should have been leveled up as well. Lots of intelligence decent health moderate stamina and you had it in the bag
of course a sorcerer build would be hard to play with these rules. most players that pick sorcerer aren't doing it as a challenge run and allow themselves to use anything they choose to, which includes pyromancy. i played a sorcerer for my first run of dark souls and it really wasn't that hard
I did get all copies. You can see that I free Griggs in this video. I just didn't realize until I was editing that I hadn't recorded myself actually buying the spell.
Bandit knife has the bleed effect, which is super effective against almost everything. But the reality is is that in Souls, you can play anything you want. If you find a weapon you like, check it's stats and spec towards it.
plus take this in i m also in the way fo wite as for the bossis ive betinet i do not wat to name them i stell got more to do to be good hav a nices day

would've been nice to see you use different types of spells instead of soul arrow and that piddly dagger. feels like waste money and materials on that dagger. also kinda defeats the purpose of running the game as a sorc if you aren't using all the tools a sorc can use.
I might be missing a joke here, but you do realize that the entire point of the run is to use ONLY the starting gear, right? The challenge is specifically not to use anything else, just to see how it would play out. Apologies if this was satire though, because I could definitely see it being so.
So the way I look at this run is simple. If I am using only the starting gear I would have looked at what was dealing the most damage and working solely on that. In this case I would have pumped intelligence to 99. The way he finished the run was more of a dagger run instead of a sorcery run which is amazing but there is no point in worrying about soft cap.
If you're only using the basic soul arrow and none of the sorcery boosting gear... then yeah, sorcerer only would be hell.
I was thinking the same! Sorcerer was my favourite run of my entire souls career. So I was interested in seeing how he did.

@@KingOfMischiefs Agreed, it defeats the purpjose. it should be more like use a magic caster build.
"But f*ck me, I guess", that sentence alone had me laughing for 10 mins straight
Not hard at all (if you don’t place restrictions on yourself)
While I don't disagree, I think the restrictions were a core part of the challenge. After all, without any it literally becomes "Watch me play Dark Souls normally but I just so happened to pick sorcerer."

Broken sword runs are easy (if you let yourself use other weapons)
@@KingOfMischiefsYou must not have seen his other starting class runs. The point is to only use the gear that you get before firelink.
Yeah a normal run sorceror class was something akin to an easy mode for this game. I just wrapped up the platinum at the end of last year or maybe the beginning of this year and it was fairly simple.
love this series so much.
build "Zeus": beat game only lightning spear

Dagger is a very good weapon though. But against "meaty" enemies on whom you can stack bleed, i'll recommend thief dagger, instead standart

nah you are a noob, there is no risk, unless you put extra rules to make it hard the game is easy mode with magic

You don't need the abyss ring to walk in the abyss dlc place, you only need it for the four kings! 🥰😍😍🥰🥰🥰☺☺☺☺🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗👍👍👍👍👊👊👊👊👊👊👏👏👏
even it has abyss in the name. 🙃
There's even a unique cutscene with Sif if you save her in the oolacile abyss before getting the ring of Artorias
He cant use any other ring so theres no point in not taking it off
