Or, if you've already started as a different class, you can get it in the Valley of Drakes near the entrance to New Londo Ruins. The only other place is in the Depths right above the giant rat. It's a good pure melee starting class. Spider shield is one of my favorites even if I start with other classes. The battle axe is really good damage output for it's speed and size. I've found out that every class can be good enough if you get better at the game and allow to upgrade whatever weapon you have. When I tried a challenge where I am not allowed to level up myself, but only upgrade the weapons. Based on my limited strength/dex on a build I've chosen I've got the best weapon and upgraded to +15. I couldn't believe the damage output it got. The only problem is I could sometimes one-shot by bosses. But sometimes not. It's like if you level up and put points on str/dex or vitality, it's good, but it doesn't scale up too much, it doesn't make things as better as it should. But leveling up your weapon makes a difference. It's interesting to try various challenges after finishing the game normally few times as you learn a lot and you git gud.

You know, given how easy the sorcerer, the bandit, and the pyromancer can be without much effort beyond progressing the game, I’m starting to thing Dark Souls isn’t as hard as tryhards claim it is…
Its hard when its played blind, when youve never played an action RPG, especially the ones made after Dark Souls release date. Some people have never used I-Frames, or stamina, or know about weight classes when rolling, where to get OP gear, how to parry, the list of amazing things that make the game fun and easy goes on, but not for those new players.
I have a suggestion. A run I had always wanted to try. DS1 as an undead soldier. Only equipment allowed is what the undead soldiers are wearing or wielding. The armor and shield, Crossbow, Longsword, spear. Stuff like that.

I used to only go for black knight weapons' in a casual playthrough. I'd kill the asylum demon and immediately go back to fight the black knights in he hope I'd get something.
The Battle Axe, Longsword, Broadsword, Mace, Club and Hand Axe are all surprisingly strong weapons. They have respectable base damage for how fast they swing and have pretty good scaling.
i always wondered if the bandit in the forest is cheating, does he follow the game rules? as in his damage is actually from the axe and not just some made up number the devs made. i got almost one shot by him wearing havels while having 30+ levels in vitality and yet he drops the least amount of souls out of all the clan members

if you're referring to the "way too good to be a starting weapon" line, that's because they don't yet understand how good roughly half of the game's starting weapons actually are. (The Longsword, Broadsword, Club, Mace, Battle Axe and Hand Axe) If you're not referring to that I have no clue why you're bringing up scaling, since pointing out the Mace has B Scaling in Strength isn't actually correcting anything he said in the video, since he didn't say it has the best scaling of any starting weapon. Yup, that's about how I expected the run to go. For other classes I'd predict. The Warrior will do pretty well. His Longsword is a very solid weapon, his armor is decent, and the Heater Shield is the most weight efficient Metal Shield. I am unsure if the poise from his helmet is actually enough to matter, but it exists. The Knight will struggle a bit before you get your endurance cranked. The Broadsword is slightly worse than the Longsword later in the game due to its lack of Thrust moves. However the armor has high defenses, 46 Poise, and the Tower Kite Shield is pretty solid. The Wanderer will struggle more. His armor is much lighter, and the Scimitar only does Slash damage, which armored bosses tend to shrug off. The Leather Shield isn't exactly inspiring either. The Hunter is going to suck, there's no two ways about it. While access to bows will allow for some ranged cheese strategies, the Shortsword is just an inferior version of the Longsword and the armor is abysmal. The Large Leather Shield is the best non-metal shield you'll get on a starting class, but that's not saying much. The Thief is going to have its ups and downs, but mainly downs. The Bandit Knife is a weapon that's mainly useful for Parries, Backstabs and Bleed, which many bosses are immune to, and its armor is fairly weak. The Target Shield is terrible, and even its parry frames are kind of awkward.. The Deprived is probably going to go better than you'd initially assume. The Club and Plank Shield offer a very clear build and gameplan with fairly decent damage overall... 2-handed Club Str/Vit/End setup with basically no other stats. I'm going to predict the casters as though you don't get them new spells as the game proceeds. All of them have terrible armor, so I won't even be mentioning that. Cleric will perform fairly well. Heal is a decent spell even if its effects will seem smaller later on, and the Mace's Strike Damage is consistently quite useful throughout the game. The East-West Shield it starts with is only slightly worse than The Hunter's shield, but is still worlds worse than a metal shield. The Pyromancer will struggle slightly more. Its initial spell will basically act as a set of renewable firebombs, and the Hand Axe is surprisingly strong, however the Cracked Shield is basically a joke. The Sorcerer will suck. Soul Arrow is not a very strong spell, and even a fully upgraded Sorcery Catalyst isn't going to alleviate that issue, combine this with the Dagger as its starting weapon being terrible, and the Small Leather Shield being unimpressive and things might get rough real fast.
I think it's odd that you make out the starting class gear to be obsolete and replaceable, when that's not really the case. Dark Souls is great because all the gear is viable, aside from a few exceptions that are meant to be bad on purpose. You could argue that armor with no poise kinda sucks, but the starting weapons are all completely capable and solid.
I think the opposite. Deprived has a decent weapon, but the bow has a lot of benefits. I could theoretically cheese manus from outside his room with it. That'd definitely be easier than fighting him.
@@calvalier520 Indeed, suppose there'd have to be a caveat, can only buy the same arrows that hunter starts with, and no more arrow purchases after getting the lordvessel. Downside of deprived is no armor so no defense. Hunter short sword range is less than ideal.

Out of all the npcs you had to kill the fair lady????
she brought it on herself
why did all of the shields stats have a shadow on them except the fire damage reduction?
Why did it look like you did damage to Kalameet after he did his death animation?
That is possible for all bosses especially useful for 4 kings
Hunter would probably be one of the worst classes, i bet deprived would even be easier than hunter
Hunter short sword range is less than ideal.
if you lvl up it's not really the starter class anymore
huh?
Great video!! If anyone wants to see a whole playthrough of someone going like this, go check out Living Sun Dark Souls: Remastered playthrough 😂 he unintentionally just used the Battle Axe the whole game 😂 definitely got a sub from me btw, you’re very pleasant to listen to 🤙🏼
