I made a dedicated guide to the merging through floors technique, with some other examples if you need some more inspiration of possibilities. 😊 ua-cam.com/video/6pCThAP-Q98/v-deo.html
Going to try this for the large pyramid I’m building. Would be so much cleaner without all the staircases cluttering up the interior. Thanks again for all your efforts!
Hey, I actually did make that guide some time ago - the links are in the description of the video, but here is the guide that should explain how to make the doors work. The beginning of the video is explaining the basics, but halfway the video you can find the answer: ua-cam.com/video/VrAyHGwpEgk/v-deo.html
This is perfect timing, just started building on a tower themed planet, and was working on moving between floors. Also, I like this idea for using as a maze or puzzle building. I used teleporters as level progressions in my first tower, but this makes it so there are choices, which makes using a secret combination an easier option. I can’t wait to get to building later tonight. Thanks Beebs!
This design is of course limited to only 3 levels - Once you go above that, you will need some extra teleporters and links between each of the levels 😊 Although it should be pretty simple to expand on. - With each floor you add, you will need to add an extra Teleporter per floor (I think... lol).
I love the idea of the buttons. I had built something like this for a condo (long since deleted) but it was one teleporter per elevator room, with six to a floor with destination decaled on the wall.
It’s so simple too, seems almost like an obvious solution in retrospect. That’s why we rely on great instructors like Beebs to show us all the new techniques and discoveries.
Awesome elevator, not sure if anyone els does this but i figured something out a long time ago where u put the cylinders ontop of eachother as high as u want them to go put a floor on top of them then just free place a ladder right against the bottom cylinder and when u climb the ladder u will just teleport to the very top, it only work for going up tho🤙
Yes indeed, you can do the same with a teleporter, if you merge cylinders over the teleporter and build a tower, you will be transferred on top of the cylinder.
This was simpler than what I was doing. I was using memory circuits with 1 button and light indicators with numbers. More extensive circuits. This is simpler but more buttons. Their is a button limit as a reminder. That limit doesn't matter in glitching but since your trying to stay glitch free, it's relevant
I can't remember what the limit is to be honest. Although, it could be the limit is per area - I noticed that when building the flaming barrel - If you build a few next to each other, and move away from them, the limit goes up again.
@@Beeblebum cool. Thx. I want to say the limit is 10 on the button specifically. I do not know on the other switches but the inverter and auto switch I do not think have limits that I have encountered. I haven't had the need to use lots of the other switches or haven't encountered a limit on those. But cool for sharing and love how clear you describe the process. I'm a fan
If you use a cloaking device, the wires will be hidden for visitors - but many of them use the build camera to look around a base, as it is seems to render things in better (compared with photomode) and animations remain. 😊
@@Beeblebum Ah ha!! I'll pay more attention to attempting to hide the wiring or at least run it more cleanly. Thanks much for taking the time to share your experiences with us.
NICE ONE!! I was curious if switches could be used in this way. Now I can build a 100 story tower with an elevator for each floor and NO stairs! thanks!
Thank you very much for this tutorial. I wanted to mention that I first tried to connect a very long distance with only two teleporters directly to the cable, but the teleporter cable turned red. However, if there is another teleporter in between, you can also directly connect the lower teleporter with the upper teleporter, which has the very long distance.
Neat! Ok so work down, got it. I'm going to use this to help me align some teleporters so I can respawn some farmables, I just could not for the life of me get these things to cooperate lol. Thanks!
I have designed an elevator that works with an arbitrary number of floors, and implements a going up/down system using delays at each floor. I'd love to share the design, but am crap at making videos.
The main problem with Freighters is that you can not use power cables in vanilla building. I think there are ways to get your teleporter unpowered.. but if you can not use wires, the method will not work.
Man, awesome video as always!! I'm curious, could this technique be used to so a multi-destination teleporter? I'd love to build a teleporter in my freighter that went to different parts of the ship, kinda like teleporter rooms in StarGate Atlantis (if you've seen the show) but have no idea where to start :(
What happens if you use one teleporter per floor, but each switch is connected to a different teleporter. Like, could you change the destination by sending the signal to a different teleporter that you power? Ugh- I’m not explaining it right- lol Edit: I just got the blueprint so imma try it out- lol Edit 2: did not work- was confused- *sad trombone sounds*
Short Range Teleporters only send, so you need to power the teleporter that sends you to the other level. I understood you.. hope you understand me. 😅😂
I am not able to test out myself what the cause would be - still, this has been working for a long time now, even when I was playing on the PS4. So unsure what your issue could be.
Thank you!! 🙏 I was saying to myself the other day that we need elevators… now I can build one of my own 😊
Wait, what.
Over 1,500 hours and i never knew abkut this. My man, you are a legend.
Now i can build better things thanks to your awesome videos.

Well done my friend. Love this concept.
Thats awesome. Any chance you could do a tutorial for using/creating powered doors?

Yes to a video on hiding wires. Like all of your videos I'm sure it would be very helpful.
Seriously, amazing video! Thank you.
That's almost exactly what I did. I put the teleporters horizontal to have a wider trigger area tho
Yes, its also nice to hide the teleporters and even the electrical symbol.
Thank you man✌️👍....as usual you gave us a great idea, again 😉.... great man🍀, great content💯

I didn't know that a visitor still sees the wires. Glad I am just starting my base today. haha

Lol.. good luck with that haha... You gonna need a serious Teleporter network for that.. 😂
@@Beeblebum Yes, Im sure. Would be cool to build that huge building "Kalifa" from Saudi Arabia in NMS
Such a cool way of doing this! Thanks for the tutorial, we'll explained.
Simply brilliant.
Great tutorial. Going to apply this to my multi-level freighter base.
Bye-bye, ladders!
Thanks for this mate! Something I needed to learn! Appreciate you always!
Any time man! 😊

Nice work

If you mean delay at each floor.. you mean the teleporter stops at each floor before moving to the next?
thanks for that
Another amazing video!
Is this possible on the freighter considering that they're always powered?
The main problem with Freighters is that you can not use power cables in vanilla building.

Hey Beeble is there a way to make your base parts into wire connections? (cause if that's the case hiding wires will be super ez)
You can use the reverse wire glitch - Which is definitely something I will be showing as a solution for hiding wires.
Boa ideia :) !!!

Hey just tried on PS5 today and it won't let me stack teleports on top of each other like that. It stacks but doesn't layer.
I am not able to test out myself what the cause would be - still, this has been working for a long time now, even when I was playing on the PS4.

@@Beeblebumyeah I'm going to try again. Last night my storage units in my base build by my settlement were clipping into each other.
For the record your glitch building lmao
