Omg I did not want to influence you badly with the rose gold rings 😭 sorry about that! I have realized how easy it is for me to be influenced and I started writing it all down and logging the instances and thoughts and feelings. It has been a helpful exercise for me. I am glad you got the plum color tns - it’s great that there are other options to suit everyone’s preferences because I don’t see that plum color anywhere else. Some people think the tn system is too bare, no pockets etc or don’t prefer the traveler’s company leather - it’s just a journey to find what suits you. So it sounds like regardless of the amount spent on stationery, you are more in tune with what works for you and more intentional. Because we all want hits not misses 😅 Btw, I have a moterm arriving but I don’t think I will order from them in the future… you know the issues 😜 I feel like the price keeps going higher as well and perhaps it’s time to explore other options. Not to influence you 😬 but did you see that VDS is clearing out their personal wide ready made planners? I saw such a huge discount and was tempted (again easily influenced) also because I’m not sure I would get a VDS unless discounted … but the size seems so wide and I have never used it. Everyone just raves about the quality so definitely want to try. I wish you the best in your job and stationery journey… ultimately we want all this to be fun and happy!
You don't need to feel bad about that - I think we all influence each other by sharing things, but we all also in the end make our own buying decisions. And it was just little over 5 euros so no big deal. I spend way more on VDS 30mm gold rings to learn that I don't like gold rings or 30mm rings 😅 I did see the VDS personal wide sale and thought about it but it's not a size I have ever used or ever thought about using. Of course it is tempting, but I rather save the money for something I really like and know I would use. And you said there is no color that tempts you 😏 But if you like personal size, the wide is not so far from that, but I already have a personal/standard VDS without a use, so buying the wide doesn't seem so wise... But of course a sale is always tempting 😅 About the price of VDS... if you buy a ready made it's really not so bad. You get one VDS with the price of two Moterms... As an example the pocket size. Two Moterms would be about 200 euros and one VDS is only about 150 euros. So it is really not that bad. Especially if Moterm quality is going down and you spend the 100 euros on something that's unusable after a few months so that isn't at all money well spend in my opinion. (Talking to myself here 😖) I would assume you could afford a VDS - but maybe not ten of them 😅 For me it's quality over quantity, but of course everyone is on their own journey and maybe you enjoy the variety. And the TM leather is far from for example Moterm veg tan, so that is also something that's a matter of taste and preference.

Regarding vds it is a curiosity because need is a strong word 😅 I could use scrap pieces and paper and survive, it’s still all under this hobby life but you are right regarding the pricing - it’s not too different and ultimately it’s about choosing something we really really want!
There is also the BST group for VDS on Facebook 😉 Most of the sellers seem to be in the US, but there are also sometimes European sellers. Do you have an Italian BST group for stationery? That could be a good place to start selling, if you choose to do that someday. Then it's not such a hassle with shipping when it's domestic. Not saying you need to sell something - just an idea if you want to refine your collection some day. And if you don't have such a group, maybe you could start it 🙂
In Italy you have over ten times more population than in Finland and we have at least two groups like that! So I definitely believe there is a change to make it happen. You must have stationery lovers also in that country! I don't believe you are the only one out there. You just need to find the people.
I have a Paper Republic tn cover and it is the same as the midori ones in that the closure attachment is on the spine and not on the back of the cover. It is so much better that way in my opinion! no little bump when you try to write that side.
Nice 👍🏼 I haven't even thought about that problem now because I don't have it 😅 But I think I also prefer it on the spine - or at least it doesn't bother me there at all and I don't either mind the look of it there. I think if you would really use your TN in travel and wouldn't write on even surfaces, then it probably wouldn't disturb you either on the back cover but trying to write neatly at a table you will notice it.
Love the colour of your Moterm purple TN's. It might be costing you money up front to be able to figure our your personal preferences and curate the ideal system that works for you but at least you have been able to sell some items to help off set the cost. If you don't try then you don't know. If a system isn't working for you then you are not going to use it and then it is only going to feel like wasted money sitting on your shelf taking up space so might as well move it on and find something that is going to suit you better. Please do share a video about your spending regrets. We all encounter them from time to time. I find it challenging with having no choice but to order online sight unseen as there is no where local that I am able to check out the items I am interested in, in person. Sometimes it can work out great and sometimes not so much.
You are right and I think I need to again do some decluttering in my stationery collection. It just requires a certain level of alertness to be able to make decisions about letting go. Sometimes the opinion of others disturbs my ability to make decisions. But why would I hold on to something that others like, if I don't like it. There's nothing wrong with me in that case. It's just about differing preferences. I know it's annoying to have to order everything online and the risk for disappointments is greater then. I just evaluate if I'm willing to take the risk with that item and price. I will do the spending regrets video, but probably expand it to multiple years - maybe from 2020 to 2024 so the time I have been on UA-cam. I can already think of multiple items I would need to show on that video 😬
