I’ve gone to a similar set up after stressing about it all! Like you, I can’t stand the orange monthly colour. I grabbed a sterling ink monthly TN insert with a black cover and I prefer the inside as well. My brain feels calm again. Haha
I used this system before. Find you the clear covers and place a photo or decorative paper in there. That will be better than detaching the cover. I’m not sure who picked that color. I hope there’s a sentimental reason for that color.
Creamy colored contact paper to cover that burnt orange cover. Then even through gaps for stickers/labels/whatever you decorate with. Or a nice looking contact paper you don't feel the need to cover with decor.
The extra squares have been in the monthly since I started using it in 2019, and the spine has been sewn as well. The back pages are definitely different for 2025. The map used to have the major cities printed on it, now it's blank. The measures and equivalents is also different. I'm definitely in the camp that wants extra blank pages, but I make it work. December of the previous year and January of the following year is a standard feature in that one.
Hi Sylvia. I’d cover the outside of the orange TN. You have such a lovely aesthetic in your decoration and you’ll do a wonderful job of changing the look of the notebook. I have used the TN books during the covid years and loved the and the paper which is so lovely to write on with a fountain pen, but I’m on my fifth Hobonichi weeks this year. I haven’t done a pen test on the new paper yet but seeing lots of comments about the paper quality, which is a shame. My main issue is that I have to have a diary/notebook/journal that will fit in my handbag or purse. Love your videos and greetings from Ireland!
Honestly I just glued a nice card stock over the cover and it worked really well (I trimmed the card stock after the glue cured). You can also use acrylic paint or wide washi to cover it if you hate the colour that much but pulling the cover off the binding will ruin it.
I love getting cute wrapping paper and covering my TN inserts in general :) I think ripping would be risky but you could get cute paper and cover it up and wrap it xxx
This is my plan for 2025…we’ll see how it goes but I’m tired of drawing or printing monthly and weeklies. I plan to have the 3rd booklet to sort of be my bullet journal or really anything other than monthly & weekly 😂
I wasn’t aware that TN inserts came in that gorgeous color and I didn’t know there were people who didn’t like orange what a terrible state to live in lol just/k but no really I love orange its my fav and I didn’t know they came in that color
I'm deliberating buying a Wanderings TN in oat, but I've set up my pocket Moleskine weekly with notes for 2025 with a light pink Uniball One 0.5mm. Every year, I feel a desperate need to buy a Hobonichi Weeks, but I've tried them twice and they just don't work for me. There's something (as well as the paper) that I just don't get on with. I'm never consistent in a Hobonichi Weeks or in rings, but I can't explain why. They look so pretty, yet I fail.
Not gonna lie... I love the orange 😂
I got my first tn cover today. It’s a wanderings real leather cover in oak. And I am loving it. Going to be buying some more inserts next week

In Hobonichi Weeks you get entire December!
Paint the cover! Holds up great! I use acrylic paint...
I would try covering the monthly insert with some paper like people on the youtube have been doing to their hobonichi avec books.
I need to start randomly walking into dollar stores and see if I can find mildliner treasures :D
I really really think all your videos Are so fucking calming-best journal videos in the whole World!!!!! I love it
These look so good, love the aesthetic ☺☺

I get tired of drawing! Then I get bored of dated planners 😅
