- In this video, I will be giving a review of the major differences between the PS5 vs the Xbox Series X. The PS5 is the ultimate next gen console that continues to get better every year. Meanwhile, the Xbox Series X has continued to stick to its winning formula that provides a great gaming experience. So in this video, I will be helping you guys decide whether or not the PS5 or the Xbox series X is right for you. So here it is, the PS5 vs Xbox Series X after 3 years of use.
As an owner of the Xbox series X, I’m very happy with the console. Quick resume, backwards compatibility and game pass sold me on the Xbox, I’ve thought about picking up a PS5, but having a hard time justifying spending $499 just to play Spider Man 2
I own a ps5 and I'm about to do just that with a Xbox because of Starfield 😭

I have bought three actually and just one Xbox for my son who stopped playing and went PlayStation and pc. Think Microsoft/Xbox is going to be a game developer only in the future especially if halo is releasing on PlayStation

I went with the xsx this gen. Xbox one games are cheap and the auto upgrades with HDR is great. I also like fact I can pause games and come back.
Xbox is quieter, has quick resume, has gamepass and many more controller designs. PS5 has the better controller, more exclusives and the player base

my ps5 is overheating and shutting down .. the fan etc is clean .. its nearly broken from me taking it aprt trying to clean it but its not really dusty .. its just a lemon i guess
my ps4 would run in 85 degree weather for days. it could be left on for weeks straight with no problems never once cleaned it ..ps5 is junk or i just got a bad one @RadioActivity2009

I own ps5, xbox, switch and pc and I gotta say. The series S/X has an amazing catalog of games. Game Pass, 360, og Xbox. Also, you can emulate Wii, Gamecube, Ds, 3ds, Ps2 etc on these consoles, and it’s just surreal.
Not counting that MS will probably buy Activision Blizzard too, therefore. Gamepass will become even more valuable. Xbox is a good environment now.
Every console is a winner, I understand that it’s hard to have all platforms. So, it’s down to preferences.

I've had both for awhile now and both are great. They both have their strengths. If I had to choose one though, I'd choose PS5 all day. The exclusives are next level.
My thing is the exclusives don't appeal to me due to sony wanting to insert their politics and closing their Japanese studio and I don't see a Gravity Rush 3.
The only glimmer is Stellar Blade.

Not to mention sony has lost more rights to games and microsoft is buying companies up left and right. I own both consoles but unless sony announces a Bloodborne remaster or bloodborne 2 i have no reason to turn on the ps5. Newer games are also staying at a consistant frame rate on series X while ps5 has ton of more drops in frames and this is due to the graphics card being 2gigs weaker.

As of August 2023, I still have No interest in a PS5. I’m perfectly happy with my Xbox Series X.
The activision/blizzard future deal, the graphical power, the console design, Gears of war series, Halo, Antstream and gamepass.
Many other reasons too.
Last gen? I was all PS4. I had no interest in Xbox one. But this gen, I’m happy with my Series X.

Just makes no sense to have such a great console like an Xbox, and not commit to making masterclass titles taking advantage of it it’s specs and power. The Activision/Blizzard/Bethesda deal was in result of Microsoft desperately trying to even the playing field. They spent the money, purchased existing titles, (because they haven’t made their own great one in a while) and have a chance. PS5 still had 15 million more units sold than XboxX, and until they figure out how to get amazing games consistently, without spending billions to purchase existing IP, they will NEVER win a console war. They’ve lost the last 2, BADLY.

Xbox Series X consoles sold: 21.67 Million
Xbox is getting their ass kicked in this generation, and is being nearly DOUBLED in total sales by PlayStation. Xbox cannot hang.
The ONLY solution is to spent money. Like you said, they bought Activision, along with a couple more video games because they aren’t good at making their own. Since Halo/ Gears of Wars, there isn’t any amazing games by Microsoft. This may be an opinion, but it’s one agreed upon by most console gamers. Nobody gives a shit about Gears 5 or Halo. Forza Horizon is a good franchise, but PlayStation has their racing monster in Grand Turismo. There’s nothing special on Xbox.

Xbox has a very, very long way to go before they catch up to Sony. Microsoft has decided to just buy games instead of make them. Not surprised at all. The Activision merger is their last hope. However, Call of Duty has already said they will not become Xbox exclusive anyways. By purchasing Bethesda, Blizzard, etc, they give themselves a small chance to catch up to Sony 😂

During last gen I had both ps4 and xbox one I firstly got the ps4 due to it being slightly more powerful and cheaper even got the ps4 pro but once the one x came out I fully switched and honestly never looked back I bought the series x for launch got it November 2020 and love everything about it don’t ever think about PlayStation exclusives at all because 1-2 games don’t justify a entire consoles in my opinion.
Not to mention sony is losing games and microsoft is buying up more companies and gamepass is Cheaper then ps plus and has way more games and i mean Way more games. Sorry but unless sony announces bloodborne remaster,remake or bloodborne 2 i just have no use for my ps5 over the series x. Not to mention most games stay at a stable 60 fps and ps5 has more frame drops. This is due to the ps5 have 2 gigs less video. Makes a huge difference as the years go by. I have both consoles but just stating the facts. Not to mention almost everyone i know has bought multiple ps5 controllers cause they get terrible stick drift over time. Sony has made a nice controller but its durability is complete shit and they dont last lol.

I own both consoles, but I give the edge to the PS5 for having an upgraded controller, a cheaper memory upgrade path, and VR headset that expands the experience. Microsoft's advantage is with quick resume, dual ownership of games for PC, and GamePass. It's all about preference. I enjoy graphics of each console, but PS5 offers a greater level of immersion by a mile compared to the XSX.
i bought ps5 year ago. from then the controller is giving me wrist pains :( worst egronomic controller i have ever used. even first generation xbox controller is so comfortable. i sold my xbox one s and was thinking to buy xsx but bought ps5 instead. fml i cannot even play for 2 hours straight

@@moody4tech635 Ha funny lol I go 60/40 in favor of the PS5. Sony reeled me in the graphics from the single player campaigns found in their exclusives. I enjoy the unique feedback from the controller, and how easy (and inexpensive) to upgrade storage. I use my series X to play more AAA titles and for Game pass benefits.

I went from the Xbox One to the PS5.
I invested alot of money into digital games on the PS5, even pre ordered the ultimate edition of FIFA 24.
Had i not invested all this money in the PS eco system, I would have switched back to the Xbox world.
Why?
The UI feels better, you can interact via chats on every single game... and it's more social.
U are so wrong. PS ecosystem feels next gen. XBOX feels old. I had XSX and before XoneX and it was disappointing seeing the same old ugly UI menu. Now XBOX looks old and even the new polished UI feels old. UI on PS5 is far better overall also some other features. Smoother and faster. Bro common give me some better reason. PS5 is bigger in community wise.

I do think it presents better. It's new and clean and fresh.
But it terms of actually using it and function, Xbox is undeniably better.
I do think Xbox would have benefited with a new UI to feel new and fresh. If it remained as good that is.
But we didn't get that, but the Xbox UI functionality and ease is absolutely better.
I have both consoles and i must say that they are both very similar aside from console exclusives. But i do prefer the ps5 controller over the xbox controller.

The actual controller design of Xbox is probably the best ever. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
To me it is more comfortable than the PS controllers, even though the PS controllers aren't bad.
Xbox could definitely put some new features in the controller though. Better haptics and a gyro is all I would want.
But as far as the controllers go I'd still pick Xbox, even though I like the Duelsense.
I'll have to disagree with your comment about the PS5 offering more controller colors. XBOX has a huge catalog of controller variations and special editions (not to forget mentioning the design lab where you can make your own) that are first party as well as many themed controllers the PS5 doesn't come close to.
And the elite controller is just amazing to use

@@etherthedragon2273 Work fine to me. I own both and I don't think there's anything about the PS5 controller that makes it largely better than the XBOX ones. The adaptive triggers are a gimmick at best and a battery hog at worst. I've either turned them down to low or off during long gaming sessions to save my fingers from fatigue. The gyroscope feature seems to have very little use (for me at least) as well. Both are good controllers and the PS5 controller is the best PlayStation has ever done but I don't think it's as revolutionary as they market it.

Prefer Xbox X for form factor, specs, games, ability to surf the web, youtube and entertainment (as i only use my computer to do work now). the Xbox just seems so much more complete and stable.
As a Series X owner for several years, here’s issues I’ve had: the mic system is proprietary so most headsets need to be custom made for Xbox. It does not use USB mics. The quick resume is overhyped because you get booted off games like Madden since your network disconnects from the game, ruining your progress. The exclusives suck…Halo and Gears have never been as legendary as final fantasy or metal gear. The only pros for it are game pass, and the more matured design. Otherwise PS5 is far more utilitarian and freeing.
Lots of great information and really fair comparisons of two equally great consoles. I am switching back to console after years of pc gaming, and i've owned and loved both xbox and playstation over the years. So this helped solidify my idea that PS5 was the best route to go, specifically because of the better exclusive titles! Thanks for your insight naseem.
Pc is the best however sometimes you just want to turn on your console and just play games without thinking which parts you need to upgrade. Pc is the most best and versatile route but man the money you spent for the pc. I do love the mods they can do though.
@shadowsnake3867 not to mention how terrible all of the pc ports of console games are. Also older games run terribly on new and expensive hardware and the companies don't care. I've spent way too many hours trying to fix games and make them run correctly. I just want to turn my machine on and play games and relax.

Developers prioritize consoles over pc due to them paying the subscription and that's why consoles are cheaper too to make it more affordable and invites more players leading to the up for sales, active player numbers thus making it easier for investors to give more money. Then we have the plus side of owning a physical copy that can be shared and resold with tendency of it being on sale for cheap price as well. On digital you can as well on pc sharing install files but physical copy just feels different. Yeah pc is more of status thing now who has the best rig.

I'm mostly a PC user but thought of buying a console as an alternative option. But it's hard, there just isn't many exclusives that I actually care about. Maybe Bloodborne and Demon's Souls but that's it. All the other ones are really bland or too linear. Modern games are getting less and less appealing to me now
In Xbox you get : ' THE ULTIMATE GAME PASS ' and more storage , quick resume , controller is more comfortable for long hours and you can also browse internet in it , and can buy cheap games from other region ( argentina, turkey ) , cloud gaming , smart delivery , backwards compatible.....
In Ps5 : ' EXCLUSIVES 😎' , dualsense , Futuristic look , VR gaming (if you have one😅)

you're glazing and hyping PS a little too hard in my opinion. I've grown up with having and playing with the playstation consoles. I've had the ps5 since 2021 and loved it. yeah i agree that it is a very good console, but definitely overhyped. I went over to a buddies' house and used his xbox for one night. ONE NIGHT. It completely changed my view. The controller felt so much better in my hands. i loved everything about it. and we're talking about me. a playstation fanboy, who was disgusted at the thought of owning an xbox. i sold my playstation and bought an xbox just a week later. Best decision all year. But like i said, i love the playstation. im just not a fan of the size of it. its too bulky and the controller didnt have enough grip, causing it to slip very often
I really enjoy my series x. That being said if the ps5 slim is a reasonable price I'd definitely consider it for the exclusives

@@itsethan155 It's just a PS4 with a different processor. No difference beyond that. It's not worth paying 3-4x more money. Every game on it was already on the PS4 and it has all of the same features.
Why to choose when you can have them all and enjoy? Some will say, I dont have money, and at the same time they have iPhone of 1k$. Have all 3, playing everything they have to offer, Tears of Kingdom, Starfield, Spiderman 2, all must play on different platforms. Great time to be a gamer.

Finally bought a ps5 last year. Loving it so far. Currently playing baulders gate 3 on ps5, and looking forward to Spiderman 2. The system has been amazing at playing all my streaming services and all my saved digital games. I prefer the ps5 controller way more than xbox, theirs just seems clunky and bulky in my opinion. The haptics arent game breaking, but in a game like "the last of us", its pretty neat to pull the trigger to shoot a gun and get the resistance and release like a real trigger. The console itself is bigger than I thought it would be and it took some shuffling around to make it fit on the entertainment center shelf. The exclusive games are top notch so far. I haven"t really been into games like CoD for years, and Fallout 76 turned me off of Bethesda games, so the Activision/Blizzard/Bethesda buyout doesn't hurt my feelings. I'll just buy a PC to play those ganes someday if i really want to.

Owning both consoles they are great in their own rights but I’d lean a little more towards the Xbox: along with quick resume smart delivery and backwards compatibility is a great feature especially now when Rockstar announced RDR remaster for $50 on Switch and PS5, emulation, and a very underrated feature in game share. I hear you about their exclusives being short but maybe that changes in this generation. Either way you’re getting a great console no matter what you choose.
I got both too. I use the PS5 for the single player bangers that are just not comparable to anything on xbox. On the other hand game pass is cool and allows me to have access to sports games and such without having to rebuy them each year.
@@AR9Legend EA play does come in clutch for that but honestly I haven’t been into Sony exclusives so far this gen. I played Raganarok halfway through and I stopped because to me it got really boring (absolutely gorgeous looking though especially on my LG C1) but I have to play Ratchet and Clank at some point when I finish Calisto Protocol and Hi-Fi Rush. My schedule is so messed up with work lol

What are you talking about? Xbox has no good games anymore. PS5 has all the exclusives. And its funny you mention the RDR remaster because it turns out that its non existent. They are just releasing a 360 port on PS4 and switch and charging full price for no upgrade.

From a PC gamer's perspective, it seems like the PS5 is usually the choice of people that are more I guess 'hardcore' gamers. While the Xbox, it seems like is more popular among gaming hobbyists, given that the series S is the better seller of the two. However, I do still think Xbox is feeling the effects of their disastrous X1 launch. I think they permanently alienated a lot of potential customers. I did buy a ps5 last month just to play FF16 and FF7R2, but i'll probably sell it when i'm done with both of those games.
Uff that's rough considering FF16 is a disaster...

I’m also a pc gamer. I have a high end gaming pc and don’t really have a point for getting a new console. But the ps5 has been grabbing my attention recently. Mainly for the fact that it has amazing exclusives that takes a while for it to be ported onto PC. But at the same time, I love Xbox. Great catalog of games, backwards compatible with majority of Xbox games, and more. Either way, I love both. Might get the Xbox though.
Edit: Why do I still prefer Xbox?
- Backwards compatible with most games I play
- Slightly better in specs
- Xbox game pass (even though it’s on PC) it has a good quantity of games.
- Two ps5 exclusives that I want to play isn’t going to make me stick with ps5 for the long run.
Comes to personal preference though.

As an owner of both, I 100% disagree on which is better, and I used to be a big Sony fan. Games look so much better on Xbox, and the exclusive Sony has are mostly overrated, with the exception of the Naughty Dog games.

I'm a lifelong Playstation user but I'm not fanboy and I have been gaming since 1990.
This generation I bought a Xbox due to them purchasing obsidian and Bethesda I first bought a series S because I never owned a Xbox and I knew it would be easy to preorder at launch and later on I loved it so much I bought a series X I have not bought a PS5 yet but I will. My best friend has a PS5. I am highly satisfied with both the series S and X and I do not regret the decision to switch. I can't wait for starfield avowed and outer worlds 2.
Right now outside of spiderman And GOW I have no reason to run out and buy a PS5 until I see more exclusives I want. Meanwhile gamepass has kept me satisfied and with games landing on it like hi fi rush, MLB the show, Forza horizon, Halo, physconaughts 2, grounded, persona and Yakuza series I have been satisfied with just having my Xbox

Naw PS plus has so many AAA titles that it's ridiculous but on gamepass I play a few here and there . PS plus has borderlands 3, kingdom hearts 3, dbz kakarot , god of war , spiderman , all the far crys, all the tomb raiders all the watch dogs, Tekken 7 , street fighter 5,mk11(Xbox also) , all the assassin creed , horizon forbidden west,devil may cry 5 ,they even have call of duty Cold war, and so much more block buster games from PS3-PS5 .

The best console = whichever console you play the most on with your friends. For me, that happens to be the series x. I haven't played my ps5 very much since I bought purely due to the fact that I like to play with my friends and they play on xbox. So again, it's whichever console you play on the most with your friends. It literally could be either one.

The controller is way better but then again is all about choices. I had both ended up selling XBOX for several reasons. Lack of exclusives. Some games are inferior in performance like CoD WZ 2 and even most recent titles the PS has little more stability. Better interface well feels next gen compared to a old Microsoft pc style.
At the end is all about taste.
And even games are cheap when u buy a game with a friend (share). No brainer.
And also storage lol. I have my ps5 with 3TB and it didn’t cost more then 120€.

RD2 runs better on XBOX so does Ghost Recon. Forza is great in arcade (Horizon titles) but since there is the Crew horizon 5 feels boring and even worse.

I am blessed to be able to own both and experience each fort it's own strengths. So I do not give and advantage to either because they each have different strengths. That said, watch reviews demonstrating each consoles strengths like this one, KNOW which aspects are more important to YOU, then decide accordingly..
Yesterday I went to gamestop and I was in a hard decision cause I had a ps5 and I loved it but something about the xbox caught my eyes so I decided with the xbox and so far I'm happy

Fantastic breakdown. The one area despite being a PlayStation owner since 2001 when I bought a PS2 where I will say Xbox is HEAD AND SHOULDERS ABOVE PS IS GamePass!! The fact that Microsoft actually offers you DAY AND DATE RELEASES on GamePass is PHENOMENAL!! PlayStation Plus even at the premium tier that I get, is an ABSOLUTE WASTE especially when in comparison to GamePass!! For example, I play a lot of sports titles, so every single year they regurgitate the same crap and charge $70. Sony released MLB THE SHOW the past year and people who had GamePass GOT TO PLAY IT FOR FREE THE DAY IT CAME OUT, meanwhile even though it’s a GAME MADE BY SONY, they NEVER OFFER THEM ON PLAYSTATION PLUS!! Even the previous years titles, AT BEST YOU’LL GET A “TIMED TRIAL” that lasts 3 HOURS!!
This. I play lots of Fifa and other first day released games with gamepass... older games I can buy cheap on sales from digital stores and own them 4ever. I dont need gamepass to them. So, I never pay for games over 20€ and even that is rare now days because most games I wanna play including sport games comes to gamepass.
I ordered Xbox SX today, and GamePass with Starfield + leak about Fallout 3 Remastered was a selling point for me. Also, I sometimes love to replay old games like GTA IV, and backwards compatibility is really something what Microsoft do right.
Good video. As an owner of both the Series X and the PS5, I very much agree with you. The games and controller are what really make the difference. It's nice to have both consoles but if I had to choose between the two I'd choose PS5 for those two big reasons; your analysis is spot on.
I prefer the PS5. At the end of the day it's all about the games and the PlayStation delivers on that front. With exclusives such as Spiderman2, Ragnarok, horizon forbidden west, etc... It isn't even close to me. Xbox is finally showing up with Hi-Fi rush, starfield, and other games coming up but I feel like PS has a better library. You can't go wrong either way though!
I want to know about the etc, please tell me more.. I am on the fence about this.. my game preferences are multiplayer and party games from sports to fighting games.. The reason why I didn’t get the ps5 and ended up with the Xbox is that the ps5 does not support Dolby vision.
It’s only recently they launched and supported Dolby Atmos.
I’m deadlocked as I own both. Both are powerful and have their own good features. Both play the most of the games I want.
There is a ps5 at my house that I use on occasion. I own a series x and a high end liquid cooled Alienware pc gaming setup with a 240hz Alienware monitor overall it was around 5000$ I even own a 3000$ apple laptop. The series x is by far the better choice for competitive players looking for an enhanced gameplay. The series x has a better gpu and larger ssd.

As a Sony fanboy, I bought a PS5. It’s a good console but my least favorite since the PS2… and as a result, it’s the first time I’ve bought an Xbox since the OG Box. And I gotta say.. I love what Microsoft is doing this console generation. If I could only pick one and undoing my initial decision - it’d be Xbox.
I've owned both the Playstation and Xbox since the beginning. For me, getting both has always been a foregone conclusion. Each has held its own over the years when it comes to gaming experience. Each has had it's share of must-have exclusives. Frankly, if you like video games, it's pretty safe to assume that you will end up with both consoles. That said, what I do like about the PS5 over the Xbox Series X has nothing to do with gaming, but more on the hardware side. For example, adding more storage to the PS5 is easier than the Xbox. I also like the controller on the PS5 better than the Xbox. The lack of USB-C support on the Xbox is strange, although I suspect it will be there when the updated version comes out. Lastly, and I realize this is nitpicking, the naming convention for the Playstation is infinitely better than the Xbox. Whoever comes up with the Xbox model names at MS needs to be fired.
Microsoft intends to make Xbox a dumbed down gaming PC, with all major titles having both Windows or XBOX versions. It's becoming less of a console and more of a nerfed PC. At least Nintendo and Sony are sticking with console conventions and bringing users unique experiences that are exclusive to their systems.
Not everyone can afford a $1500 to $3000 PC, so Xbox is a decent value for some -- but sadly, it's far too redundant once you have a capable PC that can run all the same games.

For me it's the Xbox Series X and it's not even close. Backwards Compatibility, Game Pass Ultimate, Quick Resume, smart delivery all have made me choose Xbox as my primary gaming console this generation. I use my ps5 for its exclusives, last time i used my ps5 was for Ragnarok and that was a great game, had fun getting platinum on it. Ima be honest, i love playing games from 7th gen, imo thats when games were at their absolute peak. Dont get me wrong, we still get great games today but i feel like it's fucking RARE when we get an amazing game like we did back then. We mainly get remakes now bc i feel like developers can't come up with anything original. But still, some newer games that i loved playing are Eldin Ring, Psychonauts 2, Resident Evil Village, Forza Horizon 5, A Plague Tale: Requiem, GOW Ragnarok, Ratchet and Clank rift apart, Resident Evil 4 remake, Dead space remake, Mass Effect Legendary edition, Destroy all Humans 2 reprobed, and Pac-Man World Re-pac. Being able to put my old games in my series x and play them without having to pay for a subscription or any kind of bs was the main reason i went with Xbox this generation. I've had a lot of fun replaying some classics and also trying out great games for the first time too. Plus...ive been having a blast playing mw2 (2009), cod4, bo1 n bo2 with some buddies since Xbox fixed the servers for them! Patiently waiting for Starfield to come out on Game Pass...3 more days to go. Also looking forward to Spider-Man 2 on ps5, Starfield will definitely keep me busy until then lol.
Edit: i completely forgot to mention that a lot of games including even 360 games have FPS Boost, Auto HDR, and upscaled to 4K and it makes games feel like a brand new experience i absolutely love it. Fallout 3, Assassin's Creed, the Far Cry's, Tomb Raider, Gears of war games, F.E.A.R , Fable and a lot more games feel so smooth because of fps boost
Gamepass and being able to download an emulator and being able to play ps2/wii/gamecube games etc is a big selling point for me
one thing that wasn't mentioned that maybe could've been is the fact that microsoft bought out activision and is planning on putting old call of duties on game pass. xbox is also getting rid of xbox live and changing it to game pass only, basically giving people tons of free games just with their online subscription

Being a late buyer of next gen consoles, i gotta say the "Smart Delivery" feature was a nice pro-consumers move. To have the "next gen" update without having to buy a "remastered" version is great. Got Cyberpunk & the Assassin's Creed at a low price on Xbox One and now can play them on the XSX with better graphics is great!
Also the 120fps support on the XSX beat the PS5 in the dust so far in this gen. I don't know why the disparity is there but it is! 🤷🏼♂️
@@AndrewCGG it's been like that since the beginning of the Xbox. PS always outsells XB. Even the 360 era a lot of people say XB "won", PS still sold more units. I think that's why we see many pro-consumers move by Microsoft. It takes a lot for a fanboy to move to another ecosystem.

I think one important factor why people choose one console over another is which platform they have used to use till now. PS or Xbox. Xbox is fully backward compatible so your already collected game library follows to Series X, your online friends follows and your achievements.
PS5 is backward compatible with PS4 games so for former PS4 owners it probably makes more sense to update to PS5.
I’ve always been a PS guy. Had PS1 - PS4. I got an Xbox Series X 2yrs. ago because it was nearly impossible to buy PS5 here in my country at the time so I had no choice but man, I’m honestly very happy I gave xbox a chance. Super in love with the console and the games I have played so far. I’ll most likely buy a PS5 before the year ends but it’s really great to experience what microsoft has to offer. 😊

*Haven't bought a console since 2011 when I picked up an Xbox 360 & I'm doing my research.* I grew up on Playstation, then grabbed an OG Xbox for Halo & then the 360. Loved the console, but I swear Xbox has dropped off majorly in the past few years. I'm not a big gamer at all honestly, but I'm heavily leaning towards a PS5. Everything else seems the same or better with the PS, just don't see a reason to get an Xbox.

Despite the PS5 being a weaker console, with less storage, it has sold more than 15 MILLION more consoles than Xbox. Why? Because in the end, no one gives a damn about the fancy specs. The problem with xbox is all they think about is game pass. Xbox cant make AAA game and then lose huge amounts of money by putting it on game pass for £10 a month. That's why we haven't seen a single AAA game that actually delivers.
Matt Booty (the man in charge of xbox exclusives) said about two year ago that xbox will no longer make AAA games and only single A games, he also said that xbox will still be open to AAA game ideas, they’ll just release AAA very rarely. Phil Spencer (the CEO of xbox) backed up this statement about 3 months ago.

Xbox. The Series S is cheaper, Game Pass, while more expensive month to month, gives you day 1 games for the price of the sub instead of $70 (or wait about a year or more with Playstation), and even the controllers are cheaper.
It depends on which games you want to play: if you want to play for example call of duty I’d say Xbox series x because of the stable frame rate and Activision acquisition, if you want to play Fortnite xbox series s is perfect with stable 120 fps; if you want to play other games both ps and Xbox are really good and it depends if you like exclusives or not. A thing to keep in mind if you get the Xbox you can buy digital games for much less on sites like instant gaming… instead of having to buy them from the Microsoft store. On PS there are just a few games that you can buy from other stores.
I mean Xbox Series S is there budget gaming but if you don’t want that then go for the PS5 digital.
All of them are great for their reasons, just entirely depends on what you prefer. The only reason I argue with PlayStation fanboys is because I think PS5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch are all good, but I can’t stand little pricks on the internet who have a problem with you enjoying games and run their mouths about my choice of gaming systems being bad. We shouldn’t be worshipping the company that makes the console we play on, and just hoping other gamers in another console suffer. We should unite as fellow gamers, and just have fun playing. I’ve played PS4 and I enjoyed it, I grew up with the Nintendo Wii, DS Lite, DSi XL, and Xbox 360, then I owned an Xbox One S, and now an Xbox Series X. Now I’m hoping to someday get a Nintendo Switch for my birthday in three months, or on Christmas.
Xbox game pass is undefeated . I'm leaning more to it. I currently own a ps5 and a gaming pc. The games offered in the extra/premium ps plus account aren't that good to me for me to be paying $20 a month. Especially since you can now play ps exclusive like Spiderman, God of War and others on PC. Really comes down to personal preference. I also like the vibrant graphic colors on the Xbox
This is always hard.
Sony first party games are neigh untouchable in quality with only Nintendo really competing on that level. But once done I rarely go back to replay them anymore to be honest ... yet they are experiences most definitely worth having. But at the same time lots of their games fall into the same cliche style now and they don't take the risks they used to.
Sony's controller was more innovative,however I dislike the symmetrical Sticks and super short battery life with no way to change it. They opted for a more consumer friendly NVME drive for more storage also which is great. However I dislike the use of LiquidMetal in the console as long term it doesn't hold up and the average consumer will have no idea how to work with it if it needs redoing or re spreading. Their pro controller fixed drift but adding hot swap analogs...but only has two back triggers kind of defeating the point since they are often used to replace face buttons entirely.
Xbox has the best services in the business full stop,but their first party output is lacking and has never gone back to 360 levels..not even close.
Their controller is more comfortable imo and being able to use higher MaH packs or rechargeable AA is highly preferable,yet they didn't really innovate with it at all...
They used easy to install storage cards but...they are overpriced as hell and only two brands currently make them.
The console in paper is more powerful than ps5 but we are rarely seeing that in reality. Why? No idea but it's truth.
Xbox is investing far more into buying studios than Sony is for the future,but it's also taking them far too long to produce content honestly. The console itself is more attractive and easier to fit into an entertainment center,also no liquid metal used which is a huge plus. It's also extremely modular and much easier to work on if need be.
Xbox is taking far more risks with different game types than Sony is these days,but many of those risks are not paying off either. Xbox elite controllers have four back buttons,FEEL higher quality and have vastly superior battery life....but also have a large number of QC complaints also....so it's kind of a wash.
It's truthfully best to have both but I realize for most that isn't realistic.
Myself,I use my XSX for most things,but once a good PS exclusive releases my Xbox stays off until I finish that. If I could not afford both?...hell I don't know honestly. That's tough.
Thinking toward the distant future doesn't make it any easier either.
PlayStation has a ton less money to invest and take risks with than Xbox does. But PlayStation is a keystone of keeping Sony solvent. Lots of their other business ventures saw losses recently. So it's super important for PlayStation to stay successful for them.
Xbox could ride out decades of losing money and take much bigger risks than Sony can and be totally fine,but this IS Microsoft were talking about here and eventually if things don't turn a corner who knows..they could dump or sell the brand entirely.
An easy recommendation is a Switch to compliment either though lol.

I don’t know Xbox has a couple more teraflops which mean it’s hard to see a difference in graphics and the Xbox struggles to be consistent in fps and smooth gameplay because of all the power while PlayStation is more balanced with 10 teraflops and a solid ssd etc so PlayStation is better in my opinion not to mention the great exclusives like ragnorok horizon last of us 1&2 days gone etc

I feel in the minority as a pc owner. I have a pc and ps5 and honestly I don’t care for the ps5 anymore. All ps5 games are on pc and the ps5 offers no way to access most ps classics. The series x can play almost every classic Xbox game and other games from the past. Also all of my friends own a Xbox so I kinda can’t play older games with them. The Xbox one controller was honestly perfect for every pc game I own so I can imagine how great it would be on its own home console. My ps5 controller has started to be annoying to deal with as the d-pad is one of the worst d-pads ever made and an over abundance of features really bogs down the controller. Has anyone really used the touch pad as more than a button.

Since Microsoft has fixed all the old school call of dutys, I've been playing literally all of them - something you simply can't do with PS5 and there's actually people still playing all of them, as far as cod 2 even. It's amazing and definitely brings back memories!

I'm fortunate enough to own both and although I still do love the PS5, I would choose SX.
Aside from the SSD, there aren't any features on PS5 that are next gen, and I don't think the game library is particularly strong.
Quick Resume on Xbox is a game changer; I like to play 2 or 3 games at a time, so that it is amazing for me and a true next gen feature; something that couldn't be done on the previous generation.
Gamepass has allowed me to play some of my favourite games this generation that I otherwise wouldn't have paid for as they initially didn't take my fancy.
The Xbox pad is still the best.
VRR works better on SX.
I prefer the game library.

As far as console performance... they are basically both the same. Few frames up or down per game on each. Then its just up to you as to what ecosystem you like better.

@@naseemspeach I haven't had a xbox since og, missed having one. I never been big on exclusives. I'm playing 3rd party 9/10 on either console. But I would be lying if I said I wasn't excited for starfield & silent hill 2.
Really hope silent hill 2 doesn't get delayed but we still don't have a exact date(09/29 still rumor). It is one of my most favorite games ever made! I hope blooper does it right. I think lords of the fallen will be the visual pusher this year, preordered on both. Very different from og lords but looks promising imo
Games run better and faster on the PS5, games also look better on the PS5. Why play games on xbox? Plus the PS5 controller has features that make games so much better and immersive. The only thing Xbox did to their new controller is add a PS4 share button.

Been a playstation owner all my life but I am leaning towards the backwords compatibility. I might have to switch over to Xbox since Playstation is lacking in this feature.
