    History kinda repeating itself. Dallas also lost Steve Nash in a similar fashion. Imagine missing out on 10 years of Nash and Dirk....and then another 10 years of Luka and Jalen. Unbelievable screwups. Thanks, Mark!

    Isaiah Hartenstein, Josh Hart, Jalen Brunson. These are the three differences the coach also stopped playing the vets and started playing the young draft picks he had at the end of the bench in December 2022. So there are several differences from last season to this one. Coach has stopped being stubborn and made several adjustments.
    But yes Jalen Brunson has brought a lot of balance, poise, and confidence to the team.
    I know the media thinks the only thing the Knicks have done is add Jalen Brunson. But no that isn’t the case.

    Mavs signed Brunson to that three-year deal as a second-round pick, so then they’d have the option of letting him hit RFA after that third season OR they ride out his small salary for the fourth year (which they did).
    in hindsight, it was bad letting it ride out. but we’ve seen teams like Denver decline the fourth year option on deals (with Jokic), and then definitively re-sign them as a RFA.

    • @ivanpetrov5185
      @ivanpetrov5185 Рік тому +1

      To be fair Luka was so underrated in that draft. The vast majority of Americans didn't have a clue who he was, 2 teams passed on him and he was selected just because Donnie Nelson convinced Mark Cuban how great Luka is. And let's not forget that Mark Cuban passed on Giannis in the past. Rick Carlisle played Luka because he was forced to. Carlisle hates to play young players. That is one of the reasons why Brunson and Josh Green barely saw the court and played when there were no other options.
      Ironically, Mavs were super lucky to get Luka with 5th pick and Brunson with 33rd. Still, the whole organization sucks from top to bottom as they don't believe in their players. Thanks God, Jaden Hardy sees far more minutes than Brunson and Josh Green did in their rookie season.

    • @He2New
      @He2New Рік тому

      @@ivanpetrov5185 Word! Imagine if they had passed on Luka too in the draft.
      The organization has a major front office problem. I was in awe when they gave up Finney Smith and Spencer Dinwidle… Why wasn’t the inconsistent Tim Hardaway Jnr shipped out in this trade move.
      The Mavs were so promising last season and post season… made the WCF 😪.
      Such luck to be able to get Luka and Brunson.
      They just had to retain some key pieces and run it back with some new solid bench players.

    • @ivanpetrov5185
      @ivanpetrov5185 Рік тому +1

      @@He2New I think that giving DFS and Dinwiddie was because the Nets had Kyrie and they were ordering the music. Initially Dallas offered THJ and C Wood, but Nets didn't want to hear about it. THJ has a horrible contract. Not a bad player overall, although has no defense and is very inconsistent in shooting throughout the season. With that attributes his salary is way higher for his skills. No sane front office will want him as a piece in a trade. He got this hefty paycheck because he had a great performance in the second series against the Clippers (where to be fair only him and Luka showed up). C Wood on the other hand is better defender and significantly better shooter but he has been in multiple teams which makes every FO suspicious about him. I think the Mavs got rid of C Wood just because they wanted to clear his salary. That's why they lost him for nothing just like they lost Steve Nash and Jalen Brunson. My conspiracy theory is that Mark Cuban told Jason Kidd before the start of the season that he should fail C Wood so they excuse not resigning him with some bullshit like "He has no defense", "He is no team player" and such BS.

      @@ivanpetrov5185 hmmmm… thanks for shedding so much light on this issue.
      Honestly… it’s hard to manage these players most times. I am anticipating some positive moves from the Mavs this his offseason… I’m not sure resigning Kyrie would improve their roster.

      @@He2New I think the biggest problem for the Mavericks right now (apart from Cuban) is Jason Kidd. I am not sure if Kyrie and Luka can become a good duo, but we need another coach to try that. So far it didn't work well with Jason Kidd and he got another year.
      I don't know if Kyrie will resign. He is at an age where his primary goal is $$$ for as many years as possible, first. And second, championship. But the $$$ is his top priority. And Cuban in general is dirt cheap, so I don't know how this will pan out.

    I like the video idea, but can you please just do your research? Just little things throughout the story, like how he wasn't a 6MOY candidate and how the Jazz were not the no.1 seed. It just feels like things that make the story more "wow", but they just aren't true.

    Jalen Brunson is almost like the young Tom Brady of the NBA. Basketball experts fail to see greatness in Brunson except the NY Knicks.
