Brian at JST i hear is a very good tuner with quick turn over rates on revisions. i wanted to tune through him when i finished my build, he wasnt able to E-tune since i have the v3 upgraded cams and wasn't physically located where he was. i remember you mentioning that the head has bad valve float (or flow). i would recommend that you have a conversation about that with the guys over at speedperformance. they have focus's with 600hp running stock valves in the heads (ported) with their cam kits (v3) on top of other necessary high HP supporting mods. if you want high RPM limits without worrying about how and when you shake the motor apart(everyone removes the harmonic balancer), i personally would stick with the 2.0 setup with forgings instead of stroking the motor (assuming you wanted to do that). the v3 cam kit has double coil springs and an intake duration of like 264 degrees or something like that. the (v4) has 284 degrees timing... you're basically asking yourself to never be able to drive the car daily if you want the v4. your build definitely has room to smack the blocks limit (without sleeves) of 780. just depends on how you want to achieve that. so without nerding out and leaving a dissertation as a comment, ill just leave this reference for everyone to read here. www.speedperf6rmanc3.com/content/StrokeOrNot.pdf when you're selecting your forged bottom end components, i believe the biggest consideration is what pistons you will use. a quick read from the guys over at JEPistons is worth taking a look at. blog.jepistons.com/2618-vs.-4032-material-differences

However i think speed performance did some testing and the head didnt really flow power past 7500rpm, i could be wrong in that but thats what i recall. Im still up in the air as far as the 2.0 build or a 2.3 build, im leaning towards the 2.0 because i dont really need the extra displacement to help spool a turbo or anything but definitely want to make some more power. i honestly havent looked too much into cams or cam kits, when i finally delve into a deep build it will be something i research more heavily.

You don't really need a "big brake kit" unless your doing high speeds like well over 70mph hard stopping. Stock calipers paired with really nice rotors and pads will do just fine for most drivers.
@@sategllib2191 thats likely true for people who daily their ST and hit a high speed every now and then..but if you track your car or even run a few spirited cruises in the back roads, you WILL get brake fade and have a bad time... I ran stock brakes with upgraded "Power Stop performance" pads on a track weekend and melted my front calipers, the brand new pads melted in 3 sessions down to the metal and caught actual fire... it was my fault for assuming PS made track capable pads...so the next time i went out i upgraded to MOTUL high temp fluid, ss lines, stock rotors with Hawk DTS-60 pads, and a stage 1 brake cooling kit and never had another fade issue. Then for the street i run the same fluid/lines obviously, but drilled/slotted rotors with some Duralast Gold pads since i rarely drive hard on the streets. But a few twisty weekends I've noticed fade thats actually scared me a few times... So yes, the stock brakes are actually great for driving in traffic or a spirited quick run without hot lapping or constant high speed braking... but do not rely on the OEM set up with your life if you push your car. I now have RS Brembos and its a cheap enough upgrade to ensure you have great brakes that wont fail you (rears are the same, slightly larger rotor and different brackets is all, same caliper and pad for the RS/ST). But def upgrade the rear rotors if you run Brembos or you will get brake bias.
The issue is not the injectors... its the fuel pump the it starts losing pressure above 350 so you would need a fuel pump and injectors... might as well get the aux fuel and clean up those valves abit.
High pressure fuel pump is the limiter, the high pressure pump like gabrian said is only good to around 350. The low pressure in tank pump is good for considerably more than that though
440 fwhp should put it into mid 11's. It is 3400 lbs, vs a 3750 lb Camaro SS with 385-390 rwhp. And don't drag it. Drag is very hard on the trans, axles, clutch and suspension.

lmao...he has 4 port aux fuel...doesn't need any upgraded injectors. New clutch probably a good idea but the stock clutch is fine and will only slip launching it hard. Front axles are fine unless you're running slicks and dumping the clutch at 4500+ rpms. Manual vs manual, it will keep up with a camaro SS from a roll...not from a dig because FWD problems of course

The RS 500 Cosworth would be seen by people on the road quarter of a mile away, it stood out, it was exactly what it looked like, quick!. Then when people asked to see the engine bay they were in for another treat. The cam cover with the Cosworth legend on it, you could see the eight dark green injectors you could see the huge TO4 turbo. and as i say the added Spec-R polished tanks. Then of course it was easier as the engine was the right way in, north - south. And not forgetting the steering wheel being on the right side!!

Car has not been on a dyno, butt dyno says anywhere between 420-440. I have seen identical setups on 29psi of boost make 440 wheel.

A hybrid Focus ST is stronger than a stock RS. With the BT you will run circles around even a lightly tuned rs. What setup did you end up going for?

The engine bays are ugly. The engine bay on my RS 500 Cosworth with all the Spec-R was what an engine bay should look like. Might well as be a Tesla.
