    Don't you have to replace the studs to put that type of gasket

      Yes. I'm almost 100% percent positive you do. Original studs have a metal stop at the end that meets with the cylinder head. That gasket has built in metal washer that will sit on top of the original studs.
      This one will leak unless it's a different model from what I have experience with. Hopefully he double checks before turning it on.

      As soon as he started the motor it would leak. you need to get the stud kit for the rubber tappet gasket or just buy the cork gasket.
