Ali in 65-67 the best heavyweight I've ever seen. lateral movement hand speed head movement could dance the whole fight throwing combinations I don't see any heavyweight beating him

Great rapport between these two. I found it significant that Ali said he favoured head shots, never the body. His own midsection was as hard as concrete: he allowed Foreman to wale away at his body in Africa. Marciano used to let his opponents batter his abdomen at will; he said it wore them out. I remember the surprise on Ali's face when he stuck a jab into Leon Spinks' gut in their rematch and Spinks winced. Boxers being stopped outright by body shots seems to be a recent phenomenon. I know pros talk about wearing a man down with them, but the modern fighter seems soft in the middle compared to those of 50 years ago and more.

According to Ali's doctor, Ali said this during the 10th round of this fight

I cry every time I watch these old tapes. It takes me directly back to youth. I was 10 years old when this fight happened and remember it like it was yesterday. RIP Ali and Smokin Joe!

Muhammad paid Frazier the ultimate compliment by saying Joe was the greatest fighter he ever fought. And Joe would go down as one of the Greatest Heavyweight Champions of All time. Muhammad was right with his prediction as he always was. May Allah grant Muhammad Ali [Al - Fidrus] the highest elevation in Heaven. Joe Frazier & Howard Cosell RIP

Slurred speech. This fight destroyed him physically and mentally. He should have never fought again.

beautiful that Muhammad eventually recognized Joe's greatness. He will always be my hero but Joe was so tough. Their passing was so so sad.
