I just bought these on the basis of your review and one other and you are spot on about them! I’ve been running on Vomero’s for many years and I would say this is the best one of the lot. They just feel like your best friend from the minute you put them on. Good roominess, but not too much. Nice support, but not overly so. The cushion in the tongue, as you say, really helps brace the lace-up which is snug and sure. I highly recommend these as daily runners.
Another quality review Edd. I’m loving the More v3 at the moment, so may wait and pick these up in the Nike Autumn/Winter sale (not in the fab white marshmallow though).
Great initial review!!! Looks like a very versatile shoe!! If I can find it cheaper I will definitely pick a pair up for my everyday and long runs!! 👍👍👍. Keep up the great work
Hi EdD, Thank you for another informative and entertaining review. I appreciate your insights and nicely shot running footage. I would love to hear your album! How can we purchase it? Keep up the great videos. Always a pleasure. Cheers! Steve
Thanks for another great and highly entertaining review, Mr. Bud! Oh, wait!! I forgot my cologne as well… Ok, all set now. I can resume :) I got both the Vomero 16 & Peg 38 (on discount, too) with the idea of keeping just one after trial. I was initially going to get the “awful” blue, but your comment made me reconsider. Haha. Yes, the whites are BRIGHT & CRISP! I decided to keep both shoes (even if that’s a bit redundant), however. I do love the comfort and overall feel of the Peggies, but these feel “closer to the ground” for me, snappier and a bit more versatile. Stability is also great. Overall, your review is very much on point. Many thanks for your insight and keep up the great work! Cheers!
Thanks for the nice review. Will wait for a couple of days if Nike India announce a discount sale. Right now, its priced fully at INR14000/-. I have used Nike Vomero 13 for about 3 years. Still OK but the sole has come out. Tried glue but did not work for long. Most comfortable shoe ever wore Ran on road, concrete and trails. I am talking about Vomero 13.
I don't know about that "midsole wears down faster than outsole" claim. I tested the Vomero 14 to the ground.. and I mean it. The midsole lost reactivity at about 2500km, which is the same time it took for the outsole to go smooth at the forefoot. So I would say they are really well balanced in that aspect, and that durability in the Vomero series is out of this world.
Sitting comfy? Check! Cat or Kitten? Cat! Roll out? As in Autobots roll out? Yes! Ready to roll. This is a good looking shoe. Lacing reminds me of the Nike terra Kieger 7 lacing. Midsole seems to work well together like the Village people. Who doesn’t love a good smack bang!!!!!!👏 outsole grippy like a youngster tugging on your shirt trying to get your attention. Nice review EDD “smack bang” BUDD.
I know you made this a while back. I may want to see if I can try these. My Peg 38 + 39 Zoom Air both feel like I stepped in a wade of gum. I get more of a dampening than a push forward. Appreciate the Review.
I was looking forward to this review, as I'll shortly be looking for a replacement for my easy and steady shoes (replacing at 400 miles). Another Shoetuber / Running Enthusiast slated them, so I was looking for an opinion that I value (first time I've watched the other person's channel).
I actually like the design of the V16. We here in the US got passed over for the 15 but the Vomero 16 looks pretty similar. I had a V14 as a daily trainer 2 years ago and was a nice shoe up to 10-12 miles for me. The V14 had full length air-zoom or bags and React foam. React foam to me seems to bottom out at 10 miles. My V14 is my garden shoe now. I won’t hesitate to pick up the 16 to try when I can score a value deal. Thanks for the review! The V14 was a much better shoe than the Nike Miler and Infinity React Flyknit 1.
Interesting that you like it so much. I have the 15(same midsole and outsole) and find it just okay... actually feels quite slappy under foot probably due to that hard and thick outsole.
Quote from runningshoesguru about the 15, my guess is the foam remained in the 16: 'The midsole of the Vomero 15 is an intricate setup. It consists of a forefoot Zoom Air unit, a ZoomX core and an SR-02 carrier foam to protect the ZoomX. Not much is known about the composition of SR-02 but it’s the same super soft midsole foam used in the Nike Joyride and it feels a lot like the Lunarlon foam that was used in versions 10-13 of the Vomero.'
Thanks for the review Edd, think I'm going to have to take a look at these. Mostly a Saucony runner with a few other shoes sprinkled in for flavor. This is the first daily shoe from Nike to peak my interest in a while. Looking at it on the Nike website I did see the Nike Zoom Prevail looks very similar but with React in the heel instead of ZoomX, and the Prevail very clearly states Cushlon on the medial side. So maybe the Vomero is the same with Cushlon and ZoomX?
Is it better than the Rebel for all around? Very interested .. zoom x always gets me excited but now with a pod 😱.. I notice myself grabbing the rebel over the speed so you have to tell me edd lmk big cat
They are two very different shoes. The rebel is almost 80g lighter in my size. This is very much a trained, the rebel could be used for racing. No doubts.
Quite a high score for a new Nike running shoe. Will consider these over picking up a pair of Nike Pegasus 38 (already own Pegasus 37 but yet to start using them).
I liked my Vomero 15 but now I still use it for casual use only since the bounce it provided was totally gone after ~150 km and mine is at 350 km now. I belive that a Nike Pegasus with React or cushlon can maintain the bounce easily for at least 400 km.
This is DEFINITELY what the Pegasus 38 should have been and they should've added a few millimeters of ZoomX for the actual "Vomero" Great review, as always, Bruv - Sincerely, your American Soldier from across the pond ;-D
Ed, have you heard of the Zoom Rival Fly 3? Seems like a flat, perhaps a replacement for the legendary Streak 7 but I can't see anyone talking about them.

Ed, I LOVED the very first Vomeros, 1 through 3. Then it lost it's way, and the Vomero 9 I loved and still run in once in a while. After the 9, again Nike screwed it up. This seems like Nike is back on track with the Vomero. The downside is that in the US market the 15 was impossible to find, and it's still to be seen if Nike makes the 16 more accessible. I'd love to try them if there's a chance to do so.
@@EDDBUD Hi. Can you recommend a running shoe with most padding / shock absortion so I can still run if I have back pain ? :/ Performance is not a priority, just comfort and shock absortion. The invincible maybe ? Thanks.
so other than Nike's ultra-high end shoes, which are not meant to be daily runners, the only running shoe meant for daily training that uses ZoomX exclusively is the Invincible Run. Yeah, “flat and slappy” is how I felt about the 15s after hundreds of very happy miles on a couple of pairs of 14s… Think I’ll give the 16s a miss…
@@seanxkelly It' s a bit weird, so much cushion in the heel but the forefoot almost feels a little too low to the ground for me?
Defo up for some Beast inspired music! 👊
I just got them, I think there is some Lunarlon in the midsole
The carrier foam is SR-02 same foam they used in the structure
Probably some EVA TPU blend similar to react
It’s nothing like react at all.
It's Cushlon-like

Yes a little turbo in there. Though lots more upper.

Amazing shoe. I like it better than the Pegasus…but Adios 6 wins this battle for me.
Hi Edd, how would you compare this to the Adios 6 as a daily trainer?
Looks like the caged ultraboost with that midfoot upper, the lacing & heel cup
Yes in a way a similar setup. Though vastly more squashy!
Peg 40 or this? Which would you get Ed?
Prefer the Vomero in that comparison from a fun perspective
