You really do make THE best running footage videos, Ko. And I really admire the fact that you buy so many of these shoes on your own. This shoe looks great minus the giant sweat bags, I mean the plush material along the heel and tongue. Thanks for another great review!
thanks Shannon! i do enjoy working with brands or retailers to coordinate shoes (especially when it comes to getting shoes early), but other times, it's just easier for and more straightforward (from a reviews perspective) to get the shoe myself. and I'm lucky to have enough support from people watching the videos to keep doing that.
I bought these last week and you’re right. They are like the Vomero of old but better. I don’t mind all cushioning in the tongue and heel. The balance of cushioning and structure is perfect! I love them.!
This was extremely helpful review. I really like your style of review. I’m a long term runner in Vomero’s. Have loved them all except for the 14 (the sharp corner coming out of the back wasn’t great sitting down stretches where you need the back of the shoes to be flush to the ground). Truthfully my favorite pair were the 13s and since then I’ve not liked the experimental styling, but I do like the line so your review has inspired me to give them a try. Thank you!
If you're speculations are true and since the 39 will be highly getting a midsole update (as seen on the history of the Pegasus updates), I'm quite excited for next year's Pegasus.
Great review, as usual Kofuzi! Couldn’t agree more regarding all the padding, seems like overkill. That said, I may give it a try as there have been Vomeros in the past that I really liked (11?).
Definitely will get this shoes. I try it on and feel so comfortable just like my Nike infinity. Infinity is a bit softer and feel I had to push harder to pick up speed. My last vomero is 13 which is heavy but also comfortable to run in. And it last a long time. Thanks for the review. I have more confident to get this shoes to replace my infinity soon.
I’ve been curious about this shoe as there haven’t been many reviews. It seems like these and the Invincible can serve the same purpose in the Nike line. Which do you prefer?
I think they certainly can be viewed similarly. I'll be doing a battle video, comparing the two. it's been a while since I've run in the Invincible, but I'll likely end up preferring the Vomero. stay tuned.
@@kofuzi Thanks for the reply. I’m a big fan of your channel. Can’t wait to see the battle videos. I’m curious to see a comparison to the Peg 38 as well.
It seemed like 2 years ago they killed the Pegasus Turbo and only put Zoom X in their premium running shoes. Good to see Zoom X come back in their mid tier shoes. Also looking forward to the Peg39.
Hi Kofuzi. Another great video thank you. Recently picked up my vomero 16 from Keller sport of Germany for a bargain £72. After couple runs though I do have some issues with them. I can’t help feeling that the transition between heel and forefoot is not smooth ( I’m a heel striker ) and feels like I’m running in a 2 stage shoe. I come off the zoom x on the heal then there’s a gap before I land on the air pod before toe off if that makes sense. I would definitely put them in the daily trainer bracket and at this early stage I feel my puma velocity nitro is a better shoe. Many thanks Ian 🇬🇧
I love padded tongues. In the vomero 14 - with that super thin tongue, it caused an ongoing pain in the top of my feet. I am about to get the 16's because it seems like Nike has fixed that issue.
I think the Invincible is a bit of an experiment for Nike. I'd be surprised if we see a v2. but Nike is also big enough that they can have multiple offerings in the same category. the existence of one carbon plated super shoe doesn't stop them from selling another carbon plated super shoe in the same year
Bought the past 3 Saucony Triumphs after watching your videos and the biggest challenge for me in terms of fit is the toe box. Having mentioned that this has a roomier fit, how does it compare to the Triumph (since Vomero at least in men's do not come with a WIDE option)? Thanks Mike, and oh, congratulations again on finishing CHITRI :)
Hey Romeo, I have the saucony triumph 18 in a 10.5 wide and the Vomero 16 in a size 10. The saucony 10.5 wide obviously feels more roomy on the toe box due to it being half a size bigger and wide. However with half a size down on the vomero and it not being wide, I felt the same comfort as in the triumph except a little less room due to it being a half a size smaller and not wide, but I think the vomero 16 is just a naturally wide shoe specially for it being nike shoe. They feel very similar to the triumph on the tongue, heel and toe box with almost that same silky soft feel that the triumphs have. Except I feel way more locked inn on the vomero due to its heel cup shape. The vomero feels a bit shorter than the triumph, the triumph sits noticeable taller than the Vomero, but the Vomero feels more aggressive and faster, the zoom x also feels a bit softer than the triumph but just by a bit not to much of a difference, the Triumph's feel a bit more laid back a little more relaxed maybe even a bit heavier aswell, the shoelaces are longer and don't lock u in as good as the vomero. I'm a size 10 and the vomero are definitely true to size so I don't recommend sizing up. For the triumph 18 I felt like sizing up felt a little more comfortable to me but I mainly got the triumph a little bigger for the reason that I just wanted all day comfort and not really to train in them.. Hope this helps man I just wished that I had the same size on both shoes to give u a better comparison but overall if you like the triumph I'm sure you will like the Vomero 16 they feel very similar in almost every aspect main difference being, stack height and that lock in feel. 🤘

Just picked up a pair for $85 from local Hibbett Sports with Memorial Day 25% off. Colorway not as nice as yours but not too bad in grey/royal/black. Will give them a try in the morning.
Wow love the colour, where did you get them. I have checked out all the sites and only see white, black, and pink which I just bought, so going to try them out tomorrow
i would trust your own feet if you can try them on in a store with a treadmill. but if you're going to go solely off of youtubers, i'd recommend finding one who tends to align with you in shoe preference. for example, Meaghan Murray at Believe in the Run tend to like almost all the exact same shoes. If she likes a shoe, I have a good feeling that I will like the shoe. Eddbud, on the other hand, as much as I have love for him, we don't always agree on shoes. (this one, incidentally, is one that we agree on)
The very first (1 through 3) Vomeros were awesome. I loved the 9, and it's lost its way since then (2014.) The Vomero is the neglected red-headed stepchild Nike doesn't really seem to care about. Your review, and Ed's, tempts me to try the 16.
Nike doesn't push them much, but the last few pegasus models were last years vomeros with a different upper. Vomeros have been pretty decent shoes, just not necessarily widely available on moat sites, I think I've never really seen them outside of running centered sites. I think vomeros are just a well kept secret for the general public or those sneakerheads.
I have the Vomero 15. the midsole feels much more natural than invincible run. It’s cushiony and kind of snappy, the strike feels light. And the invincible run feels extremely unatrual it’s almost annoying.
ZoomX is so overdue to arrive to the regular Pegasus line. Even with the Turbos, it would be 3 years since ZoomX was on a Peg assuming it shows up in the 39. I'll hedge and say a plate will show up in the regular Peg before ZoomX😂
they really don't share that many similarities. they both have zoom x foam, but the vomero has a zoom x core, while the invincible has a full zoom x midsole. the invincible is much bouncier, but the vomero is softer. think tennis ball vs. racquet ball. the dynamics of the foot strike and the fit of the uppers are also quite different. I will probably make a comparison video soon.
Visually there doesn’t seem to be that much stack height, so I would never have guessed that it’s a max cushion shoe. Guess I’ve gotten too used to Hoka and the latest Adizero series...
I’m a boxer who runs 4 days a week, 4:20/km for about 30-50 minutes. The Vomero 14’s fucked my left knee and started giving my shin splints on my right leg. Saucony Endorphin speed 2 till I die
Shoes are standard sizes. Feet aren't. If your foot is exactly in line with standard sizes, the shoe with the least padding is best. If not, padding is a must. All these shoes with a high stack under the heel have 1 cm drops. This is because the stack compresses and the drop reduces when the foot presses the ground. Unfortunately it also means the forefoot will slap on the floor, with a whiplash effect. All these reasons are why a majority of people run in Asics and not in Nike or Adidas. It's different for professional runners who are looking to shave minutes not for the best running shoe but the fastest.
I think, by definition, you can’t say that a shoe has a certain amount of drop when under load There is certainly a lot of physics happening at the foot strike, but I think you’ve oversimplified things
Looks good to me. Since watching You, Seph and Edd; I’ve bought 4 pairs of shoes and now on a ban from the wife. But I’ve still got to find my long run shoes. Oh dear I’m in trouble 😝
The Vomero 15 has a much thinner tounge, which cuts into the ankle, one has to wear higher socks. I also dislike thick tongues, like the one the the invincible runs, which presses down the feet too much, very unfriendly for runners with high arches. That tounge is ridiculous.
Visually it looks like Nike was trying to make a shoe that would entice daily casual wearers away from Brooks and Ultraboosts. “We’ll put tons of padding everywhere like Brooks, and a mid foot cage like an Ultraboost! We can’t lose!” Put it on the shelf at Dick’s and watch the money roll in.
