#run #nike #Vomero16
Agreed Alex, this shoe is a surprise. I loved my time in the Vomero 16!
Hi Cameron! Yes, a great surprise...what did you replace them with once retired?
@@AlexFilitti I'm actually struggling to find a shoe that can replace the Vomero. The New Balance Beacon V3 is a similarly versatile shoe, even if it is much more simple in execution than the Vomero. I've been enjoying that one!
This is where shoe companies need to make most of their daily trainers, some cushion and decent stability. Every shoe company has gone so far in the cushion department they are potentially creating a whole section of runners who are developing injuries due to the excessive cushioning without providing the stability to complement the added cushioning. I'm thinking Rebel V2, Novablast V1, as examples. It's probably mostly a ME problem, and I need to start looking more at shoes which aren't full stability shoes, but have a good balance of cushion and stability. That crashing in on the medial side resulting posterior tib (shin splints) pain is the frame of reference I'm coming from.
Thanks for the review!
ASIC nimbus lite. Neutral but very stable and good cushioning
@@xaviergutierrez1331 I've been eyeing the Mizuno Waverider 25.
I have the 15 which is mostly the same shoe. Really like it, good cushion, very stable and comfortable. Also feels very natural to run in, unlike the Infinity or Invincible.
Honestly don' t understand why Nike does almost no marketing for this shoe and gives it the most boring colorways imaginable. Most people probably don' t even know this shoe exists.
What do you mean more natural
Tried the 15 today in the shop. On sale now.. Really nice. Got a half size down. Thanks for the review.
add Tempo Next% upper and Pegasus colourways....and this would be the equal of the absolute best daily trainer of 2021: NB2, NB Rebel2, Hoke Mach4
This review came just a week too late. 🤣
Nike had these for less than £60 on their website in their post Christmas sales. Now I’m going to have to search for other discounts. Thanks for all the excellent content and very balanced reviews.
Thanks for the nice comment, Andy. I'm pretty sure they will be more and more discounted moving forward, making them an even more appealing deal. Have a nice start of the week.
@@AlexFilitti thank you! I managed to find a pair on sale for a very reasonable price. The colour isn’t ideal, but I run in the dark anyway so it doesn’t matter too much. They should arrive tomorrow.
Enjoy your week!
@@AlexFilitti 30km into them now and they are an excellent shoe. They don’t run as heavy as the scale, super comfy and a very easy shoe to get through the miles in.
Still ugly as sin though. 🤣
The heel is not zoomx. On the inside of the vomero 15 there was a print showing an exploded view how the whole outside was sr02 and the core is zoomx with a zoom air bag in the forefoot.
Thanks a lot for this! I was quite sure I was wrong but this is great info!
Do you think these would work well for me as a long run shoes for marathon training. I am relatively light midfoot striker. My long run paces are in 4:40-5:00 min/km range. I am using NB Propel v1 for long runs and these are soft if a bit unstable. I am going to retire them soon and was planning to buy Nike Invincible (also very soft and bouncy) but I can get Vomero 16 for very cheap at the moment. As a daily trainer I am using Reebok Floatride v3 and they are superb but a bit too harsh for anything above half marathon distance. Great review and keep up with good work. Thanks
Thanks for the great question, and yes I do believe they will work for that - even better than the invincible in my opinion. Hope this helps :-)
@@AlexFilitti Thanks. I ordered them for 56 EUR shipped. Sure they are not the prettiest shoes out there but for the price I can`t complain too much. Hope they will work for me. :)
2:06 i was always embarrased by the fact vomero has less stack compared to pegasus, but nike consideredvit max cushion
Good review.. Alex do you know what shoe has a wide mid foot? Because the vomero 16 is way to tight for me…thank you
The colorway looks like a Dad shoe from Kohl's in the US. I tried these on at the Nike Outlet, and it felt like it had way too much cushioning in the upper. I think carrier foam might be old-school Lunarlon? I could barely feel the Zoomx thru the Lunarlon. They felt fine, but I wouldn't buy them. I wouldn't throw them away either if I had a free pair. $150 in the US is a bit much when you get a much better shoe from Saucony or Adidas for much less.
Thanks Tommy! Agreed the price point at $150 is too much but even slightly discounted it gets into that sweetspot around $110-120 where it offers really a ton of value for the money!
Nike is built super well, and the fit is not as slim anymore. Most Nike's are wider than for example Saucony or Asics.
Great review, I have the Invincible on the way.. How do they compare? Midfoot width? Ride?
The invincibles messed up my ankles/Achilles because of the foam.
@@seanelgar I understand you. I can not run in the Invincible. To unstable..
Still running in Vomero 13.
Thanks for sharing, Dave. Well this one could be a nice upgrade when you decide to retire your 13s. Cheers
I was very lucky to get a pair for 75€ 🤗
That's a reaaaally good price, Oliver. Thanks for your comment
True that all the available Color options are horrible.
Their sale would be double if they had better colors
I think so too. Let's see what 17 brings
Why would I get this over the invincible run? Money isn't really a reason you can get the invisible for 80 euro , it's less heavy more zoomx more stack.. amazing grip i really don't see why I would get this over the invincible
Where can you get them for 80 EUR with shipping?
No idea where to get them for 80€ tbh. They're just two very different shoes and more zoomX doesn't make the Invincible a better shoe, it's just a totally different ride and I assume the Vomero will work for more people.
7 months later and the Invincible (1) is still far away from 80 Euro. ☝️ Lowest sale price is around 115. Fabsterun must be talking about used shoes?! 80 bucks for Invincible. In your dreams. 😂🤦
When is the 17 going to drop?
Hi Sean! No idea to be honest. Haven't even seen any visuals yet...
@@AlexFilitti they never give the vomero any press.
Aren't they too narrow on the midfoot?
Looking at your scale I see it is even narrower then the Max Road 5.
It felt like my foot was steeping out of the platform on the mid foot and the shoes where digging in ... :0
I have wide feet and they are excellent. I usually buy EE widths but the Vomero is wide enough as is. You do need to give it a couple of runs to open up.
It's a new name for Lunarlon Foam...
I loved lunarlon. The first pair of shoes I ran properly in were some Nike Lunar runners, white upper with a volt green midsole. Ran over 1500km in them until they literally fell apart.
Hehe I told you!
Yes 100%!! Should listen straight away to any future recommendations you may have :-)
oh boy, this review could get you into trouble, if Marie sees how "amoureux" you are she may get jealous.

Haha this was a great comment Phil thanks so much ;-)
