Door is not original door to the car thats why its red. Look at passanger door jambs and look at the bay it was a blue grean pearl or aztec green pearl car originally just resprayed.

REMEMBER, Maaco is a franchise, meaning the professionalism varies from shop to shop so always look at reviews about your local maaco shop before investing into it.
I know I'm 4 years late but this is actually some really solid advice.
I thought it was 2 different tones until i realized ive watched youtube so much that it burnt lines into my phone screen. It looks fire, even better for maaco and the price. Its gonna look so amazing with the works and the rest of the details

The civic looks great now just a couple of things I'm agreeing with other subscribers
1. Paint all other exterior black plastic bits (lip, skirts, rear numberplate garnish) so it looks as fresh as the pieces u painted in this video including the bumper vents.
2. Paint the inside of ur driver door.
3. Lower the front lol

Wow! I’m impressed. I fix a lot of Maaco paint jobs where I work “ mostly wet sanding “, and this looks great. They did an awesome job.
I had my 2001 Firebird ragtop repainted back to factory red and did an awesome job on mine too. No overspray on the ragtop, just a little overspray on my rims. But that rubbed off. Had it back for two weeks now and still looks great to me. I got the 4 yr warranty paint, not the 1 yr cheaper paint stuff.
Civic's looking fresh! Here's a few budget tips though:
Use silicone on the tires and other faded stuff, heat also works, silicone also has the advantage of softening up rubber materials so it's great for engine dressup.
Heat up the loose door fabric and squeeze it into shape again if you're not replacing them.
Also wax your deep dish wheels so there's never drip spots.
I want to do that for my daughter's car. Same car and same color. So glad to see how happy you were with the results.

Maaco gets a bad rap,but people gotta understand they are independent shops that just carry the name.Some are great,some are trash.She looks pretty damn good for $800!!

I’ve heard that a lot of maaco/ earl scheibs do this instead of having their own independent shop names because it’s cheaper for business licensing and insurance purposes. There’s an earl scheib near me that does amazing work for the price too.
I second Earl Scheib. Before they closed the Dallas location, I had a car painted there. The pain itself was great! Looked factory finish. I just wish
I had pulled the taillights because there was a tiny millimeter of overspray. Then again, this was the $299 special so there's really no room for complaints there and again, I could have easily made it better with even just an hour worth of work removing trim and lights etc.
$800 and the owener did most of the prep work..... heck Id paint them all day for $800 if they come to me ready to mask and shoot.

I went to maaco after seeing how happy you are with the paint job, I had car wash damage to get fix.
Dont let this distract you from the fact that Maaco can save you $1500 off your next paint job...or something about Geico...i dont remember

Paint the middle “grill” part of the bumper in trim paint also. Since it’s a 94-95 the fog light location is paint matched from factory.
You can get an excellent paint job at the right Maaco... Depends on the painter. I suggest you degrease and pressure wash your wheelwells and door/trunk jams prior to getting a paint. This greatly increases the chances of getting a good paint job. Silicone and dust from tire dressing causes unwanted fisheyeing and trash in the paint. Remove as many parts (lights,handles,trim,etc) that you can or can afford to have removed. This allows the clearcoat to protect vulnerable areas that may peel in time as well as eliminate cheap looking overspray. Btw, we don't only use economical paint, ie. Sherwin Williams. We spray PPG or what ever you're willing to pay for. Like Mikey D's have it your way
Thanks for the info. MAACO should tell people flatly what to expect with the package that they select. People expect MAACO to look out for the problems you mentioned, and I don't blame them for the expectation.
I've seen paint jobs from Maaco before and all that I've seen have come out really good
i had this same Civic in teal brand new in 1993 but mine was an EX with a sunroof. It was a cool car. I have owned 7 other Honda’s since. Good luck with yours.

I also painted my ej recently and came out amazing milano red. Just as reflective as yours! I have to get it sanded and polished to finally get rid of all the imperfections as it cured and little rock chips that happened as the month past by. I daily mine so had to drive as soon as it was out.
A iced Carmel swirl with blueberry is not coffee.
You need an EX or Si 9k cluster so badly. Also, it would be awesome to see a B18B1 swap or GSR swap for that car. I have an EK coupe with a built LSVTEC turbo in it and I love it. I had a turbo JDM D15B block with a D16Z6 head and even on 6 psi it was SO much fun, but it lacked the torque of the B series. I pieced it together with a B18B1 that I bought from a local guy for $250 with unknown mileage, then I bought a cable GSR trans for $250 and it shifted so minty, then I bought all of the solid swap mounts on eBay, then I bought a B series turbo manifold, then I pulled the single cam, swapped the LS into it, then I immediately installed the turbo kit and modified the single cam downpipe that was facing the opposite direction and it pulled so so hard for a stock engine build. I put ARP head studs, a new Cometic MLS head gasket, along with a new water pump and timing belt in it and it ran great with no noises or issues. I later found out that it had over 250k miles on it without a bearing replacement, and it eventually spun a bearing on the way to the tuner's house. I bought another cheap LS, rebuilt it with new rings and all new bearings, built the last head with BC cams with dual valve springs with titanium retainers and port work done by me and I put down 408 whp on the same eBay turbo kit that was on the single cam and the last LS. Anyway, now it's all built with a JDM B18C TYPE-R head and I swapped the GSR gear stalks into a hydro trans, installed an LS 5th gear, and put an upgraded OBX LSD into it. I'm ready for 500 whp. My best time to date on the track was 14.7 @ 100 mph because I spun all the way through 4th gear with the 205/40/17 garbage Nankang tires that were on my car with a 2.2 60' (garbage) and a shitty reaction time. It was my first time at an actual drag strip.

you should look into getting the newer gen civic civic emblems , they just have a more modern type of font

I've seen over a dozen maaco jobs. They do a really good job when it comes to taping around window trims/rubber moldings. Their paint jobs are decent. I don't know what it is, maybe not enough coatings but their paint job doesn't last long if the car is not garage kept.

just an FYI they make a antenna delete plate. (just a small black trim to cover the original spot) I had one on my 94 and it didnt look bad at all. kinda surprised me. (I had my antenna ripped off a few times and finally was like F it.) Also, I'd spray some more of that trim paint on the inside edges of both doors to help hide the fact the driverside one is red. It'll help clean up the overall look of the ride when the doors are open. aside from that this thing is amazing... sooo jealous.

Looks great! Way better than I expected from maaco. Glad your buddy took good care of you. Spray paint + basement = need respirator, even though the screen door was open. Unless you are down with losing brain cells and risking cancer. The trim came out good though.
Why didn't you get the trim, side skirts, door handles, and front lip painted to match?
I would also use that trim paint on the license plate surround since that is the way you went

Looks nice, it has some dark spots and orange peel. I would wetsand it and buff it for ultimate shine and smoothness. But overall pretty nice for a cheaper paintjob.

I think MAACO did a more beyond the normal paint job quality because they knew you were a UA-camr and that their product was gonna be on blast...Looks pretty damn good!.....Should of Colormatched ALL the exterior pieces that were Black so it look like an EX Model Civic.
