I was surprised at how good it looked. Though I did note that Hoovie filmed this basically at sunset, minimum light. In the glare of high noon it may be a whole lot more, er, vivid!

I had Maaco paint a car years ago. I spent about 100 hours prepping it for them. Color change but I did all the jambs. Whatever paint they used reacted with the primer I put on one spot and it left the hood looking horrible. I used that same primer on many panels, so not sure why the hood came out like trash. It took longer than they said too because they weren’t happy with the result and were going to get it looking better. Uh...? It looked pretty average at best. Their tape lines around the windows and bumpers sucked. I went from red to black, and there were just red lines near all the window edges. Also, about a year later the paint started chipping in spots. Bad adhesion. Hopefully Hoovie puts 3M across the entire hood, else he will likely get a very speckled front end from stone chips. When I picked up the car, they asked how to pop the hood. Ugh. There was overspray in the engine bay. I can’t even imagine how bad Hoovie’s engine looks right now, and how bad his vented cover will look when the paint flakes off in all those vents where they didn’t sand/prep. They quoted 5 hours of body work prep?! The engine cover alone would have been 10-20 hours, and it wasn’t dinged up! Only $2k to paint the car - but will cost an extra $4k at the next shop to strip it all off before they have a solid layer to work with. (if the paint is pealing/chipping, you just can’t paint over it.

WOW! That purple looks GREAT! Good on MAACO for buffing the yellow UV damage out of the headlights. That being said those headlights are now going to yellow FASTER. Very impressive the headlights are so easy to change out.

Honestly, plum crazy looks awesome on that car. Also, thank you for doing this Tyler. I think I’ve made my decision now about having our 74’ challenger painted plum crazy by them as well, I was worried about the results but that looks fantastic for a driver quality car.
If you paint the wheels something a bit darker and more modern along the lines of Lexus "Hyper Silver" it will make the paint job look much more like it came from the factory :)
From someone that has been thought the whole, jack up the car, remove a tire, remove the wheel well, lossen the bumper just to change a bulb...I shed a tear.

He still could, and have a friend take it in! I had a buddy that painted cars do my 85 Toyota 4X4 for $3,000. He replaced the windshield, and it looked great until the bed started rusting. I wish I would of had that lined.

That was adorable! I had Macco paint my 1988 Corvette 5 years ago. It cost about $1700 with tax. The car looks great, but they missed a few spots of trim and one of my door handles. The car is garage kept and the paint has held up. All the scratches have come from it sitting in the garage.

I've had macco paint jobs. They're very solid for their price. I painted me Evo and it still looks great 4 years later and I paid $1000 flat.
Maaco actually did an okay job. 2020 just keeps surprising us with every turn.

That was adorable! I had Macco paint my 1988 Corvette 5 years ago. It cost about $1700 with tax. The car looks great, but they missed a few spots of trim and one of my door handles. The car is garage kept and the paint has held up. All the scratches have come from it sitting in the garage.
