If you ever have a ton of the granny squares again, you can make a granny ripple out of them. You attach them at one corner then crochet a chevron down the long side of the rows in solid black then rows of white then black then another row of the squares. This makes the colors the point of interest and the black and white is neutral.
THANKS, Barbara, you sweet thing! I thought of you first thing this morning (6:15am here now - still waiting for coffee to brew!), and logged into the FB group to approve new members! Have a FABULOUS weekend! Chat soon, Christa. xx!
You could make pillowghans. Where it folds into itself to make the pillow. 2 buttons and done. You could make stroller, walker or arm chair organizer from it. Or even one that sits across the back seat with little pockets for books, crayons, tissue backs etc to keep kids hands busy and things tidy.
Ejoyed your vlog so much. Your sense of humor is great! Love hearing what you are doing with your ladies group. I think its a wonderful idea. Maybeyou could turn all those granny squares into a blanket. Choose a nice neutral color to boarder them with and all the colors will look better when itts complete. Good luck!
Hi Gail! So glad you are enjoying the Vlog! I think a blanket is a good idea... was even thinking we could raffle it off at Biz Baz. ;) Thanks so much! Chat soon, Christa. xx!
Granny squares looks great and the Christmas Balls the lady done for you, really like your cardigan and the tissue holder you are very talent lady! Really enjoying your videos they are joy to watch! Thank you for sharing! God Bless Hugs Liz 🇨🇦
Oh My, Christa! I just found this. I had to pause here, when you said about the totes full of yarn balls! I will go back and finish, cause I want to know about the sweater. But I am just laughing so hard, I had to stop and tell you!! Maybe I do so many granny squares because I am constantly using up my scrap balls. I can't stand to have left-overs. I can never find any yellow. I always use it up....
And then I find out the Sweater is on a different tutorial. Okay. I get it. I WILL NEVER get a chance to watch all the videos you have posted. In the meantime, you have almost talked me into getting on FB. Almost.... ha ha
@@nancytunis7472 I know… me too…I feel like I’m missing out on so much!!! I’m just not a social media person…my nephew set me up for Instagram…I just look …haven’t posted anything yet.
Piled in a spare room, to be honest. Ugh! No time or or motivation to add more yarn to them. Thinking of sending them off to help become the largest crochet blanket in the world in the Netherlands. ;)
YAY! So glad you found me too! Post pics on our facebook group when you make your toilet paper houses! Would love to see yours. facebook.com/groups/secretyarnerycrochetgroup Chat soon! Christa. xx!
I love your videos :D If your ladies don't want to waste yarn they could clip the ends of tails after weaving them in and store them somewhere (e.g. zip lock bag) and use them as stuffing for future projects like decorations or little crocheted stuff balls :) light coloured ends in light crochet, dark coloured ends stuffed in dark coloured crochet :)
Hey...did you ever do something with all those mismatched granny squares? Some of my grandma's best looking sewn quilts(not crocheted) were the most beautiful. I really like things that are random. Like a crocheted friendship blanket.😍
Or I will be glad to take them off your hands and I will try to join I just started to crochet and need practice on everything. I am retired and in Texas. So far I have not found a local group but I can finish and donate
I’m obsessed with your videos! I tell my boyfriend about all your topics and comments and he enjoys hearing what’s going on. Just my opinion but I think you should add a door or other accessories like windows to the tissue paper covers. I couldn’t really tell that it was a house :/
The Secret Yarnery , hi thanks, I got over excited when I saw your top then watched your video to the end then realised I had been too premature 🙄 lol x
Ha ha ha! Happens to the best of us! Also have another hexi cardi tutorial to edit and upload: different sizing and joining techniques. Just need to get a picture of it on one of my kids (kid size!) for the thumbnail, and with them in school on the time - ugh! Maybe this weekend.... lol! ;) Chat soon, Christa. xx!
Thank you for doing this I'm starting this project as we speak. I used a different yarn when I should have used a bulky yarn to make the project work up quickly. Make a CARDIGAN💜OR a BLANKET❤
I would CHERISH the mismatched granny square blanket, memories, handmade with love, etc. I'm such a sentimental fool about all things made by hand. If someone gives me something like that I love it and cry like a baby.
you could have the ladies make pencil holders to sell? something like this www.skiptomylou.org/crochet-granny-square-zippered-pouch-tutorial/ or a bag like this would be nice. crafternoontreats.com/chunky-retro-granny-stash-bag/
Hi, @beckiegonzalez6519! I know it has been a long time, but thank you so much for sharing! Check out my latest podcasts here 👉 ua-cam.com/play/PLpolLUf9SLHjdjLXDrWnIcXCXrO75n9GT.html I am super excited to see what you think about them! 🌷🌺🌷
Hi Alexa! Yes, of course I can! I even have it filmed... just have to edit it, and fear I didn't place the first layer pretty side down... then my perfectionism kicks in, and makes me want to refilm - just incase! Crazy, right? Let me work on it - JUST for YOU! Chat soon, Christa. xx!
I love the idea of having a home for the toilet tissue in the classroom.
Just love your what your doing with the Ladies such a great cause
Thanks Cynthia. Not doing it anymore, though. Ended up costing me a fortune, and not helping the people I wanted to help. Ugh.

I love your ideas!! Very busy there in Kenya!!
I love your idea for the tissue house. I would love to see a tutorial so I can make some❤️ Is a wonderful and thrifty idea!
I would totally make a blanket for going on a picnic!
i think you should join them using a pale neutral - maybe a soft grey - and join using back loops so that you really dont see much of the join thread.
You could make pillowghans. Where it folds into itself to make the pillow. 2 buttons and done. You could make stroller, walker or arm chair organizer from it. Or even one that sits across the back seat with little pockets for books, crayons, tissue backs etc to keep kids hands busy and things tidy.
LOVE that pillowghan idea! Must must! Thank you Lisa! xx!
The Secret Yarnery your welcome! You could even make a picnic blanket cushion for the car with a carry handle. Multi use :)
What a busy life you lead, how do you keep up and do you take time for yourself?

I can't wait to see what you'll do with the Granny Squares.

Piled in a spare room, to be honest. Ugh! No time or or motivation to add more yarn to them. Thinking of sending them off to help become the largest crochet blanket in the world in the Netherlands. ;)

Do you live overseas how do you buy your yarn...it looks different.
