It will initially cannibalize wrangler sales but it will become a monster in its own right.

Its good to note that the new Compass launched in India beginning of the year! and I got my Compass in March. I was waiting for this update and thankfully it came at a time when I was planning to change it. Except the heated seats( which you don't need in India mostly) we have ventilated cooled seats and all is practically the same. The interior is fabulous.

It continues to have poor fuel consumption and low horsepower compared to Nissan or Toyota, they only put bigger screens and that is why it is more expensive than the competition.

Bummer to see that just like the Grand Cherokee Jeep is sliding the wrong direction. I have one of the first of the 2nd gens that rolled out in the end of 2017. I am not a fan of the new interior, and disappointed that they retained some of the worst parts of the car and added more garbage to it. I hate what they've done to the Jeep logo on the steering wheel. The floating tablet radio screen design is awful. The 2.4 motor should not exist in anything except for rental fleet cars. Can't believe we still don't get the hybrid option here in the US. I don't want things like self driving, self parking, self braking, etc. I want to be responsible for the vehicle's movements, as a programmer and high school robotics coach I don't trust that tech as far as I can throw it. The active drive low system is a total joke. The only good additions are the surround camera and finally a place to put your cell phone. Other than that, everything else looks to be going the wrong direction in terms of styling, features, and capability. Mine has 55k miles on it now and if it gets totaled in an accident tomorrow I won't be going back for another Compass, maybe not for any Jeep product at all unless they get their priorities sorted out. Good video, though!

So...? They got rid of the stinky CVT or what ? Confused AF. 🤔
I like it overall, just hate the CVT with fake shift points. 🤮

The CVT has been gone. It’s a 9 speed ZF design.

@@GIGABACHI I must apologize. The Compass has a 6 speed Aisin automatic. The 9 speed ZF is in the Cherokee and Pacifica. Aisin is owned by Toyota, so it should be far better than the Jatco Nissan CVT that was used.

@@GIGABACHI but wait, there’s more. The 9 speed is standard on the Renegade, which makes little sense considering it’s below the Compass, but the 9 speed is on some Compass models.
Anyway, the Jatco CVT is gone.

They dropped the CVT when this current design generation came out in...2017? 2016? One thing you could get was a 6 speed manual in the lower trim with essentially no off road goodies but it looks like they're going 9sp ZF with the face lift. I still don't understand why they keep using that 2.4l ancient motor this should've had at least the 2l turbo for awhile now and you'd think they'd target the Bronco sport at least as competition. Extra tow hooks and only one inch of lift kinda bleh nod to off road. Let's get it to 9.5"of clearance and trick diffs both front and rear I'm tired of "software" off road modes that abuse ABS and extra transmission cogs

Everything is great it's just that they are dumping old and incapable petrol engines in India. They should bring the US or European engine specs.

I'm confused. Why didn't Jeep cut this from the line up? It has no advantages over the vehicle below it (Renegade) or above it (Cherokee). What's the point here?
