- I have seen Pony-O hair accessory (hair tie of sorts) circulating on social media and I had to see for myself if it really worked as well as it promised. I have long heavy hair and lack volume, lift and comfort when wearing my hair in a ponytail. This is where the Pony-O comes in. It is advertised as a comfortable, damage-free, stay-in-place, volumizing hair tie accessory. Though a part of me thought it is too good to be true, I had to give it a try. So here we go!

I had the same experience. Saw it on Instagram and got it for the gym when I walk/jog on the treadmill. Didn’t last 5 minutes in my hair and I had to switch back to regular hair ties. I have long heavy hair as well which is why I tried it.
To start, Your hair is beautiful. Being someone that has used out Pony O for years let me say you skipped a very important step. Try this... once you flatten the Pony O and bend both sides in you THEN, HAVE TO squeeze the Pony O a bit as if you are trying to make the bent ends touch each other. THIS is the step that will ensure it stays in place and don't sip. Hope this helps.

I noticed that you didn't do the "3rd" step after tucking the sides in. On their website they say step 1 and 2, but then she goes on to squeeze the hair inward really tight inward (step 3). Also, when she first slid the Pony-O in her hair, she had her hair pulled straight up, you had your hair pulled straight out.

I enjoyed watching your review and felt it was very informative. After watching, I rewatched the original video describing the steps of use. The only thing that seemed different and might help your one concern of being more voluminous is after pressing the Pony O flat, the girl on the view flipped her hair forward and then pinched the ends which seemed to help even more with volume. Hope this suggestion helps. Thanks 😊

Y’all never make the ponytail high enough
Higher pony. Make sure the ends are squeezed together as tight as possible and go beyond the "U" shape and squeeze the ends under more.
Well you answered my question if I should size down to the regular size or not... as I also have long thick hair. Not sure if you have tried the XL but it's made for those of us with thick hair. I do like it and it does stay tight. Love your hair by the way! 💖
I see on their website you can buy an XL pony-o. Do you think a larger one would have bent further around and held better? You have gorgeous hair BTW.

I think we may have similar hair.. pony O didn’t work for me either. It falls out of my hair right away too, which is disappointing since Their ads on insta promised it would stay all day.

I think like most of these pony holders, the thicker your hair is the better they work. I have never found a product that truly works great on thinner hair.
Its the opposite. I have thicker sair then hers and its Just doesnt Work. There is no result. It just cant hold my hair .

Haha u are fun. You can just put a blonde color hair clip under any elastic ponytail to give it volume. Who cares if it's visible 👍😊👍

Okay so when cooking with Polly-o at the same time wearing a Pony-o. The ponytail is a really simple but attractive hairstyle for both men and women. I wish more women though were open to men sporting the ponytail too. What's there not to love? More hair to enjoy together.

Did you trying fake a bob? Faux bob hairstyle maybe work for you using this product!
I've never tried a fake bob hairstyle, I'll have to look up how to do that :)
Three things that would have led to much better results: 1. Make the ponytail closer to the scalp to start off. At 4:30 minutes, you can see how much slack there is between the scalp and the Pony-O. 2. Tighten it the most you can. Don't just bend into a U, but do a really sharp bend, trying to bend it over itself on each side. The sharper the bend, the more secure. 3. Crucial: Tighten again AFTER you fluff your hair. You are compromising the interlocking structure when you pull the front of the hair to fluff. This is fine, but you just need to give it an extra squeeze after you do it. This is probably the most important reason why yours loosened up. I have been loving my Pony-O, and I have a TON of hair. I have even slept with it in and gone out the next day with just a quick squeeze to refresh. Honestly, that's the biggest benefit, that all it takes is a quick squeeze to resecure, rather than having to redo your hair throughout the day. They make different ones for fine hair, thick hair, etc, so you also need to make sure you're getting the one with the best match to your hair type.

For a proper lift you needed to have place your ponytail higher.
If it's slipping that quickly you didn't bend it tightly enough. That is equivalent to putting a scrunchie in and not twisting it tightly. I think you should practice with it more and redo your review. I wear this all day jet skiing and it stays in place with no adjustments. It's really a beautiful product with the jewelry they sell with it. I wish you luck.

It looks awful. Have you practiced with it? It looks like you applied it too low.
I don't think this is a good product, especially if you feel it is pulling because this could cause fallout. I am a long haired male with hair longer than yours. I think the scrunchie is the best hair product for simple ponytails. It's comfortable, soft and doesn't feel like my hair is getting pulled. Ones with nice fabric give a nice accent to my hair. Some say it makes my appearance too feminine but frankly I don't think it detracts from my looks. I'm going to pass on this Pony-o.
