It is always nice to find out months later how morally bankrupt the January 6th committee was and what a liar Ms. Hutchinson was. They hid testimony like from the actual limousine driver who refuted her BS.
She is a shining example of honesty and integrity.
It’s sad that when one does what’s right they need to be praised. That tells a lot and that most people are unjust by choice and free will. I hope she doesn’t later be found out as anything other than what she’s displaying.

As despicable as that is, considering that he pleaded the 5th on the first question, I think, perhaps, he was just carrying it through to the bitter end. Honestly, if you plead the 5th, it's best to just shut up throughout the rest of the questioning. Saying "5th" after every question is kinda redundant and implies you're not really exercising that right.
@@peterjp4 I don’t disagree with your assessment however the other questions should have been an easy answer as well , “was the violence at the capital justified.” There was no Justification for violence and peaceful transfer of power should be a no brainer. He didn’t invoke the “fifth” to be consistent (because he answered plenty of other questions, that was just a portion of the “interview”) he didn’t invoke the fifth to keep from incriminating himself and if he did then that means he was going to state he doesn’t believe in the peaceful transfer of power and believes that the violence was justified (no answering can be as damning as answering in public

This is a joke. Why were there no National Guard at the Capitol knowing what had happened at prior large events there and elsewhere?
There was concern that Trump would use the insurrection act to deploy them to fight for him, which technically he could have done, but I doubt that they would have obeyed him, just as so many others refused to play along with his game.

The problem is that in any fair judicial process, Hutchinson would not have been allowed to testify at all. Why? Because she didn't witness anything. Zip. Zilch.. Nada. End of the zHutchinson story.. There isn't anyone reading this who would accept being convicted on the strength of Hutchinson's testimony. My guess is that before the ink on that decision had dried, you would be on the phone to your lawyer demanding an appeal. Even barely competent attys would have had Hutchinson's testimony thrown out if this were a legal proceeding. But it's not.There are no rules of evidence. No cross examination of witnesses. No interpretation of existing law that would permit this kangaroo committee to issue edicts with anything resembling authority.

I think part of the moral lapse of the members of the trump administration at least from hearing about Mark meadows in this is literal and possibly deep depression perhaps from constantly being shut down and feeling helpless when trying to do or promote doing something that had to be done just in presidential terms let alone moral terms. @ crafty wench: I believe the goal of this committee was to uncover the truth, the people involved and to sort out the events that culminated in the attack on the Capitol. The purpose for this is so Americans can be fully informed so they may be better prepared to form an educated opinion so they can better decide what course of action should be taken to hold people to account for their actions. It is better for everyone to be presented with the facts in a calm factual way, without propaganda or sensational distortion of the facts, rather than being swept along with frenzied bombast and outright lies. There has been corruption simmering below the surface of Congress and the White House for some time now and in our two-party political system that has threatened the efficient way to govern effectively. Americans can feel this yet lacked some of the pertinent information and were being brushed off by officials that were there solely because they had been elected to serve. Congress needs a radical purge of all members who had even the slightest involvement with the events leading up to and including Jan 6 or who had perpetuated and sustained the steady stream of misinformation and outright falsehoods designed to mislead and manipulate the voters.
Cross examination is the best way to get the truth because without it you may never get the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Never believe anyone who is not cross-examioned.
