- Someone requested that I show my newly finished Signature Bargueño Desk being used in its natural habitat, which in this case is my house. I thought it an opportunity to show other pieces I've made for myself over the years and share some of the joy and satisfaction that surrounding yourself with things of your own making can bring.

The amount of detail in your pieces is truly amazing. I can't imagine how long that desk took from conception to completion. It was worth it, for sure.

Do you have plans for those kitchen stools? 😍
I've never built a piece of furniture from plans so I feel uniquely unqualified to produce them. Also, the stools are also a unique design that I reproduce and sell to help me make a living, so I'd rather they not be copied for the time being.

Roughly a year and half designing and building simultaneously, albeit part-time.

Thanks for sharing. You have made some awesome stuff. You aren't kidding in that your superpower is design. Christian Becksvoort (one of my woodworking idols) stated in his Shaker focused LAP book that the core business he did was supported by about 200 patrons over his career. You just need to find your 200. I find it less stressful when you think of it that way. Have you ever entered any of your pieces in some furntiure shows? I'd imagine they would do quite well. How about submitting that awesome desk to FWW reader's gallery? I think it's good enough to make the back cover.
I do like being able to make my own furniture as I get what I want. My wife has wanted an entertainment center for the family room. I really didn't want to make it but one day, I thought it might be fun to make it in a Frank Lloyd Wright prairie style. Now I'm excited and researching. It will be unique for sure. Power of woodworking. Gonna take a while as have the wood in garage for the next two projects plus one I'm currently working on (Becksvoort's 15 drawer chest).
I just submitted it to FWW last week. They've featured my tool cabinet and wall mirror in the past so we'll see.

Those are Columbia PFG slip-on shoes that I use like house slippers.
