Insomniac makes sense, he let Aunt May die to save the entire city because it was the right thing to do, and Spectacular Spider-Man also knows the amount of good that's come from being Spiderman, even at his own personal sacrifice (Symbiote Arc and vs Venom Arc 2)

okay, in my opinion, sacrificing the life of ONE (aunt may) to save the lives of THOUSANDS or HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS is one thing.
but the situation with miguel is a system built upon allowing people to die because there is nothing that can be done.
THESE SPIDERMEN would UNDERSTAND the issue at hand and wouldnt necessarily DISAGREE with miguel, but they would CERTAINLY be trying to find an alternative solution to mass unstoppable unexplainable death across the multiverse.
they wouldnt idly piddle paddle around while miguel builds infrastructure around this morally flawed system.
the difference is, may's decision had to be made with no time, peter had to make the choice quick and he did what he thought was right.
the miguel situation is stable and there is PLENTY of time for ANY spiderperson to be researching an alternative solution, but we hear no talk of this!! its just weird to me

I think "confirm" is too much. He expressed what he felt suits the character he voiced. He wasn't the writer for Spectacular, though. So the final say should either go to who wrote Spectacular and/or whoever decided to include him in the movie. Although I don't see any reason to say Josh was wrong. Most spideys would probably think in a similar fashion.

Honestly the writers of spiderverse were just making a cameo, they needed any spider to say that line and someone thought it would be cool to put spectacular spider doing this because they know the character is popular, but that’s just it, a cameo… it doesn’t have any special meaning or nothing like that. What they could not preview is that fans of spec spider would be pissed off that he was in miguel’s side… because we don’t want just a cameo we want him back and being relevant

People gotta remember that Miguel's goal isn't to ensure every spider person suffers, it's mostly to mantain the stability of the multiverse by stopping anomalies such as villains stuck in the wrong world.
Their job is to protect the status quo, not to change it. While that also implies letting bad things play out as intended, the risk of interfering is way too big. You understand why any Spider-Man would be okay with joining.
Exactly! If Miguel could change the fate of every Spider-Person including himself he definitely would (as we saw him try with his daughter) but the Multiverse always corrects itself and need somethings to happen

while obviously Miguel IS doing what he believes is necessary, there's obvious flaws in his logic, he isn't the good guy, and Miles isn't completely in a "selfish" category either, he just lost his uncle, has been suffering without his mentor and friends, and is suddenly thrust into a situation where he needs to accept that his dad is going to die and he's going to have to let it happen
it's absolutely absurd to believe that Miles is being "selfish" here in my opinion, in the same way that it's absurd to see Miguel as irrational

it would have been cool if Insomniac's Spider-Man had a line (like Spectacular did to Miles during the canon reveal) about his Miles having to suffer the same fate of losing his dad, it would make sense because that's what brought them together and Peter felt for him losing his father because of him losing Uncle Ben his father figure and it would have been awesome to get a longer line from Yuri! Hopefully he'll return in Beyond the Spider-Verse!

What I like is that it’s clear that the spider society is not evil. We can debate back-and-forth about whether or not they’re in the right or not. But you can’t deny that every Spider-Man there has the best of intentions. So, when I see famous versions of the characters, join the spider society, I don’t see it as them turning evil. I see it as them being misled or having a difference of opinion

I think something a lot of people don't realize is that not everyone has to agree with Miguel 100% to be part of the Spider Society. Peni and Peter B. also try to convince Miles but ultimately realize that Miguel has taken things too far through questionable methods.
They probably thought Miguel was going to help or figure something out to aid Miles or lessen the pain instead of outright capture, but that is just my HC.
miguel knows he is a young innocent spiderman, he knew he would have tried to save his dad, gwen regrets it because she is just as innocent as miles, and peter B empathizes with him more because he literally got a child because of miles

My main issue is that it's not a "personal sacrifice" they're making. They're sacrificing _people,_ who they *know* are in danger and that they *could* save, which goes way beyond sacrificing their personal feelings/well-being. Spider-Man may not be able to save everyone, but there's a huge difference between _trying_ to save everyone and failing, and *knowing* someone will die if nothing is done and _letting them die._
Also, someone dying and calling it "destiny" is the most anti Spider-Man thing ever. Running completely contrary to the idea of *responsibility.* "Well, it's not _my_ fault those people died, it's fate!"
"If you have the *power* to help someone, it's your *responsibility* to do so." THAT is what it means to be Spider-Man.
Spider-Man doesn't sacrifice people "for the greater good." There are no "acceptable losses" to Spider-Man.
Which is why, in my opinion, Miguel has failed the mantel of "Spider-Man."
I agree and I think we will see Miguel having a redemption arc knowing that not everything is a canon event or at least shouldn't be. That personal sacrifices do happen, but it shouldn't deny you from still to save someone, even if it's just trying to do so.
Finally someone was able to put my feelings about Miguel into words.
Miguel is such a failure of a Spider-Man and I hope he learns how wrong he is if miles ends up being correct in the end and this goes to every other Spider-Man who willingly sacrificed people for a “canon event”. Miles is definitely worthy of being Spider-Man and a better one than Miguel would ever be

What do I mean by that? Well, in the movie, while Miguel is explaining how Miles broke a cannon event, he says something along the lines of: "No, that's what happens when you break a cannon event. If we're lucky, we'll be able to contain it. We haven't *always* been lucky."
Saying "always" implies that they HAVE been able to stop *at least* one universe from being destroyed by a broken cannon event..
(The exception "always" proves the rule that universes CAN be saved without sacrificing people.)
But, for whatever reason, Miguel has chosen to do what's *easy,* rather than pursue what's *right* even if it might be hard.
What I don’t understand is that how is Miles saving his dad not breaking the canon if e.g in the Insomniac universe he loses his dad in a suicide bombing and in the comics he loses his mother. He has to somehow lose one of his parents and with the way it’s shaping it has to be his father. Uncle Aaron dying was a separate canon event, there can still be multiple canon events. And it is not Miguel’s fault that he doesn’t want to try because he can still go but from my perspective he doesn’t have to because if Miles tries to save his dad then he’ll just die with him due to Spot, and it won’t matter because Miles isn’t a canon event and isn’t meant to be spider-man anyway. Also, it’s half Spot’s fault and half Miles’ fault because Miles made Spot and Spot made Miles by sending the Earth 42 spider to bite him. He basically brought it on himself. Thus, Miguel is still “Spider-Man” because he has the responsibility of protecting the multiverse that he’s *chosen* to do and making sure everything’s right and stable
I think 1048 Peter has the most fascinating dilemma in choosing a side that I wish was explored. He has a Miles in his own universe, a Miles much like this one, who's Spider Man and trying his best to do the right thing and be himself at the same time, while also having lost his dad, something Peter blamed himself about heavily in the first game. And now this Miles is fighting to save his dad. All things considered, he should be on Miles' side right? Well, it's not that simple, not for this particular Peter. We all know the sacrifice he made at the end of the first game, and why. He'd know better than most the importance of letting someone you love die to save everyone else, even if it destroys you. So it makes complete sense he'd side with Miguel, even though every fiber of his being wants to side with Miles. Holy fuck, I hope they at least give him a chance to go through any of this in the next movie, even if very quickly or glossed over.
I really hope they do as well because this would create a really interesting conversation in the film 🙌🏾
The likely reason why the live-action Peters were never invited was because they all literally fought to change the fate of their villains. They would most certainly side with Miles

Also the Multiverse is huge...Endless there's no way every single reality and every single Spider-Person has been contacted. In fact given there exists Evil and Twisted/Broken versions of Spider-Man you don't want to recruit everyone. Also Miguel literally criticized 199999 (MCU) Peter and Strange as foolish...He considers them failures/mistakes like Miles.
But yeah they would side with Miles seemingly. Then again people argue Insomniac and Spectacular should've as well. Clearly people can only make assumptions on what they'd do not actually guarantee for certain...Won't know until they're placed in the exact same dilemma.
The same reasons most Spider-People did when they are all supposed to be heroes. When tragedy strikes, it's comforting to find a place where people went through the exact same thing as you, and it's easy to accept the narrative that it had to happen and it has a cosmic meaning that's bigger than yourself. It appeases the guilt they feel for not being able to save their loved ones, because if it was meant to be, then it's not really their fault, is it?
It's easier for Miles to see through the hypocrisy of it all because his dad is still alive and there is no way he'll allow for him to die without doing anything.

The reality is, being spiderman isn't a good time for must spiderman. Theor fights leave them broken bruised, and the core of the last movie. Is even when tragedy strikes they get back up.
Spider-man has rarely if not every been able to do both. And a lot of times the greater good comes at a personal sacrifice. And whenever a spiderman tries to circumvent that. It always ends badly. (See what happened to peters marriage in the comics)
Spider-man is defined by tragedy. And most people wouldn't be spiderman without those tragedys. And no Spider-man-means no web of life- which means good bye multiverse.
Miles is doing what a selfish kid would do. And that's fine, but spider society has way more to deal with then his personal feelings.

Insomniac spider-man likely didn’t chase miles since he isn’t seen in any of the chase scenes. If he did he would’ve slammed miles and he is one of the few spider-men who can beat Miguel’s ass so it would be kinda impossible for miles to beat him. While he would agree mildly with Miguel he would ultimately not chase Miles due to his earths miles morales due to how much it would be like chasing the person you mentored
He was seen during the pointing scene and when miles was running and he was also seen super quick on the train climbing up it after miles.

It makes a lot of sense for Yuri since he had to let Aunt May die to save the rest of NYC, because it was either save one loved person or 8.397 Million People.
The thing is, we currently still don’t know who is correct Miguel or Miles.
As the protag, we want Miles’ to be correct, as well as him carrying the most idealistic idea of who Spider-Man is.
But as the same time, Miguel represent a more realistic outlook (with what info they have right now), that you have to focus on saving as many, rather than saving one and costing many.
Both are true to who Spider-Man is, just Miles’ is the one we would hope every Spider-Man would strive to be.
And also, things moved very very bloody fast when everything kickstarter. There was barely anytime for a real debate and was rather just Miguel forcing Miles to fit in his view (which is also influenced by his opinion of him being the OG anomaly).
We also see most of the Spider-Man not really take catching Miles as a serious thing, because most don’t even know the full context behind it.
The whole chase sequence when you look into it makes a lot of sense with how and why it occurs. There’s too much info, too little time and the people in it mostly are doing it in a jokingly manner.

Because PS4 Spider-Man had the choice to save his aunt or save the whole of New York and he decided to save everybody else. That sums it up really the needs do the many rather than the needs of few.

Tbh I don’t think it’s too late to see insomniacs spider man join miles. I don’t know fs if he will cause idk if he will be used for more than a cameo but writing wise it would actually benefit insomniacs spider man because I think he feels guilty for his miles dads death. Also tbh insomniacs spider man I don’t think we saw chasing miles. I mean he fs could’ve been in the spider army chasing him but it’s possible he chose not to chase him. Spectacular though I think could help miles given how many little appearances he had in the movie so he may appear even more in Beyond. I do think both could switch to help miles but insomniac has more of a reason to with having his own miles

I think what people forget about insomniac's spidey is that he really doesn't trade a single life for a hundred other lives he would rather try and save all of them as much as he can, AND HE HATES SACRIFICING PEOPLE WITHOUT TRYING FOR ALTERNATIVES DAMMIT HE'S A SCIENTIST. I think he would partially agree with miguel but he would agree with miles as well since he has a miles morales similar to him and like i said letting jeff die is an immediate red flag to him. Even if he chased miles he would probably try to calm him down, persuade the other spider people to stop chasing him, and he would help him find a way to save his dad without miles' universe collapsing as a consequence.
I think Insomniac Spidey was there simply for fan service sake. Also he was more “3D” looking than the rest so it would’ve been a lot harder to animate consistently through the film, but for me personally, I like to believe that he went back to his own universe before the whole chase with Miles began, because I believe he would side with Miles, even if he does believe the whole canon event thing. I think he would believe that if movie Miles is anything like his Miles, it’s that he’s a good person and he’s got everyone’s best interest at heart. Maybe he would try (and probably fail) to convince Miguel if maybe the canon event can be prevented. Also, Gwen said in the movie that a lot of the Spider people there were part time and maybe insomniac Spidey is a part timer. I believe that he would definitely be on Miles’s side if he saw how Miguel treated him on the train because the way Miguel pinned Miles on the train and told him he doesn’t belong there is very un-Spider-Man like, and I just think he would jump to Miles side to help him, mainly due to the fact that he has his own Miles and he would probably see a lot of him in Movie Miles (obviously).
Sorry for the long comment, that’s just how I personally feel Insomniac Spidey would be in this situation, but I could be wrong.

We never saw any other version of Miles in the spider society, so I would've thought ps4 spiderman would've at least mentioned miles. Since apparently he's so rare.

I feel like the ONLY reason the spider people side with Miguel is because they haven't explicitly seen anything that contradicts Miguel's logic. We, the viewer, have seen it, but not the spider people. When I think of this dilemma in the movie, I think of that one scene from Spider Man Edge of Time when Peter wants Miguel to save MJ even though she is supposed to die in the canon timeline. "What's important is not standing by while allowing someone to suffer or die because you do nothing. If you don't get that, then you don't get the first thing about being Spider-Man."
I believe every spider person lives by this. However, the logic that they have been taught is, "if you break a canon event, you risk the deconstruction of that universe and potentially the entire multiverse." Trillions can potentially die if a canon event is broken compared to saving the one life that is in jeopardy during the canon event. These spider people have seen it first hand with Miguel's story.
In the next movie, they will probably show a flaw in Miguel's thinking and logic, and show some unforeseen occurrence that caused Miguel's family and universe to collapse, causing Miguel and the other spider people to side with Miles. But this is just all speculation for now.
That’s an amazing point, and one I completely agree with especially when a lot of them were still present when Miguel’s daughter’s Universe was destroyed, they had no choice but to accept because they saw it first hand as well as there was nothing that could possibly go against it. The flaw is already there...1. The Spot is always there when a canon event occurs. 2. Gwen went back home to find her father a police captain quit the force...Which it's quite obvious he was meant to die as her sacrifice a love one/captain. She literally switches sides as well because of it and gets others to join her...Because it's proof that nothing is written in stone. 3. Earth 42 exists without Spider-Man...So there are no canon events at all within said universe and it's not unraveling it's stable.
Going by other Spider-Man media from comics to games to other animations Miguel is wrong about what causes unravelings of the universe and his own backstory provides the clue. It doesn't break down when Spider-Man dies nor when they change fate...It breaks when they go out of character and irreversibly shattered the plotline. When he replaced someone else by stealing their entire life...That isn't heroic that isn't what Spider-Man does. When they play God deciding who shall live and die that is something Edge of Time Miguel literally warns people especially Spider-People not to do...Yet that's exactly what Animated Miguel is doing with the Spider-Society.
Miguel is clearly in the wrong...About everything seemingly. The real question is if he's intentionally lying or if he's just unhinged blinding himself to the truth that he's not being Spider-Man he's slowly but surely becoming a villain. Because that's the thing...Every Possibility includes Twisted and Evil versions of everyone. We see an Evil/Broken Miles at the end, We've seen a handful of Evil Peters...Why not an intentionally Evil O'Hara?
Though I would prefer if he's just so heavily traumatized knowing it's his fault he wiped out an entire universe...That he literally sees himself as a monster so he just accepts the role of being the "bad guy" whether he's right or wrong being irrelevant.
I hope Spectacular Spider-Man gets his own arc in BTSV, so we can get some closer with his character
The Formula that would've taken Spectacular's Powers away taught him a lesson. No matter how much Bad Happens to Peter Parker, Spider-Man is still needed.
Insomniac gets his Understanding of Miguel's Goals from his loss of Aunt May, He would've Wasted the Devil's Breath Cure on Her If he hadn't let her die. Millions of New Yorkers would've died from his greed to save one of the only people left in HIS Life.

Right. Miles' decision is a purely emotional one. Looking at it from someone with no skin in the game, it's easy to prioritize billions of lives.

It makes perfect sense for Spectacular and insomniac Spidermen to side with Miguel and it's not out of character especially since Miguel is able to convince all the spiders that he is right. All of the spiders have had their Canon events already happen and there's nothing they can do about it now and with all of them coming together because they all went through the same thing and all understand each other. All of that is enough for them to listen to the Miguel
Miles and Gwen Stacy have Canon events that never happened yet, Gwen sided with Miguel because she had a heartbreaking fall out with her Dad and she walked a path of forgetting about loved ones to forget about pain. Let the canon happen and forget about everything else. It was only when events changed without any influence or interference from spiderman. Gwen's dad was fired and never got to be captain and not have his death and it happened as naturally as anything does. That made Gwen realise something was wrong, that Miguel was wrong or he had been lying the whole time.
Spectacular and Insomniac would not side with miles but, if the 2 spidermen in question listened to Gwen's Story they would be more likely to side with her or at least do their own investigation.
I actually think Insomniac spiderman would go with Miles cuz he might realize that he’s the only spiderman that has had May die in that way. So then he moght realize that Miguel’s canon event system has irregularities so he’ll maybe side with Miles later down the road in the second movie

Insomaic Spider-Man with the first game had to make a choice to save aunt may or the whole world from a global pandemic
And he made the responsible choice in saving may and it’s what she wanted plus she was at an old age
Basically insomaic proves himself to join because he knew the risks and he made the right choice in Miguel’s eyes
Spectacular based on what see seen with the deaths he lost gwen and her father
And josh his voice actors said spectacular is still young and lost so much and proves he is a hero but was shown that all the tragedies in his life happened for a reason and he shouldn’t blame himself basically easing his conscious if Miguel is right
But you bet your a** if they knew a way to save both the world and their loved one they side with miles
But it’s been explained they tried and nothing so far worked
That miles is somehow the acceptation being an anomaly
But how can you replace that without being one that’s the real question

one thing I find interesting is that Miguel is wrong on at least some level. not all canon events are required, he himself never got bit by a spider for instance, and some canon events cannot happen without interference, as shown in this same movie which I will not specify because of spoilers, and also in No Way Home which I will also not specify because of spoilers. you might think that it's been long enough for them to not be spoilers anymore but I disagree, I don't think that it should be based on time because then you forfeit the right to go into a movie blind if you were born too late, I for one was born way after star wars was released and I for one would not have found nearly as much enjoyment out of it if someone spoiled the main plot points before I even had the opportunity. aaaaanyway this shows that the cannon events are at the very least not what he thinks they are if they even exist at all. it could feasibly be a long string of coincidences.
Miles is the one who is trying to destroy his own universe (Miguel is most likely wrong about canon events but nobody knows that) and the other Spider-Men are just trying to stop him and save that universe. I'm sure at least one of the Spider-People is working on a way to save their loved ones without having universes be destroyed.

Well, Josh Keaton has confirmed on a video, at least in his opinion, that the reason Spectacular chose Miguel's side is because Miguel met him not long after Capt. Stacy's death. Keep in mind, Spectacular Spidey saw Stacy as a sort of father figure. Now he sees Miguel in a similar light, which somewhat helped this young and impressionable hero understand that he can't save everyone and this has to happen for a reason.
As for Insominac Spider-Man, you have to remember that his Aunt May died due to the Devil's Breath Virus because if he gave her the cure there wouldn't have been enough to save everyone else that was infected. So that might have made it easier for him to accept the Canon Event theory. There is also the fact that he has a Miles Morales in his universe who did lose his father. He probably assumed that 1610B Miles would've been okay considering how his Miles turned out. Though that's just me guessing here.
It's too bad that Miguel's Canon theory isn't as simple as "things have to happen no matter what or everyone dies".
I do hope Spectacular and Insomniac realize that Miguel is falling off the deep end and decide to help Miles as a way to make things up for messing up earlier.

I hope it all loops back in...That Madam Web comes in with Animated 90's Spidey literally picking up on when we last saw them. Given the 90's series is what created the Spider-Verse idea of multiple multiversal Spider-Men teaming up then the games took it further then the comics inspired by such then other animated shows and finally the current films.
It would be one hell of a missed opportunity not to directly link them.

Pretty sure Peter B. Parker is going to go 1-on-1 with Miguel at some point. He is from earth 616 so technically he is one of the absolute strongest, the true meaning of getting back up every time. Miguel will most likely win that fight cause he's basically drugged himself to be elite.
Spectacular Spider-Man is a young teenager who has already been through Hell with the symbiote and many other things. After seeing Miguel act like a raging animal, he would most likely change his behavior.

But because of production and cameos I’m pretty sure they just couldn’t fit them into the story without removing attention from miles. Idk. Spectacular Spider-Man would’ve been a lot more level headed in regards to understanding Miles and Insomniac Spider-Man 100% would’ve gone against Miguel given his character in trying to save everyone

I actually don’t know if insomniacs Spider-Man really sided with them because you don’t see him chasing miles. I’m talking about the one that they animated in 60fps like the game, I feel like he would ultimately agree with Miguel. BUT, he would also agree that we still must try and save everybody if we still can.

No faithful adaptation of any historic Peter Parker would side with Miguel. Pick up any faithful Spider-Man comic book or media and it’ll be riddled with miscommunications from Peter, Peter trying to save individuals in the face of bad odds, Peter not playing well with others but never would Peter predetermine who lives and who dies even in the face of near certain failure.
Insomniac Spider-Man would have saved aunt may but she told him not to, and I don’t think it’s fair to say that just because Spider-Man has seen people die, that he would allow people to die. He’s not the flash, going back in time to save the dead, but he’s not a fatalist, believing that his actions cannot affect the future.

I don't think Insomniac's Spider-man was in the room when Miles escaped from the prison, right? So that means that he might side with Miles, but only if he knew what really was going on, because most spider-people chasing Miles were chasing him because that was an order from Miguel with no context. In general I think every Spider-person sides with the society(keeping anomalies out of other dimensions and stuff) but maybe in this case some that were not in the scene were Miles breaks out of the light egg by absorbing it's power might side with him, or at least not want to interrupt him. IDK though I only watched the movie once.

See the thing is, we see them in the Spider society, which totally makes sense, they're both Spider-Man. Peter Parker loves, no, he needs to help people, and y'know, for as much of a dick as he is, Miguel is helping people, a LOT of people by stabilizing the timelines.
_However_ I think it's important to note that both versions of Spidey seem mysteriously absent during the chase scene.
In fact... quite a few people seem to mysteriously "disappear into the crowd" - as far as I remember, we never see Spider Pig or Spider Noire, Peni makes an appearance at the beginning I think, but as far as I remember she doesn't do much in the chase.
Gwen and Peter B obviously follow him but I'm still not entirely convinced they were actually trying to _stop_ him from going home, I think at least Peter B was genuinely trying to help Miles and legitimately just forgot his watch had a tracker on it.
My headcanon is that Spectacular Spider-Man showed up late(like he always does), gave a quick little pep talk to Miles, but quickly left as soon as he saw the cage come out... He literally makes his cameo in one scene and in the very next shot he's not standing there, bro dipped faster than Hobie did.
Insomniac Spider-Man... to be honest I don't know, he was probably off doing side quests or something. Maybe because he's one of the oldest and most mature versions of Peter we've seen yet, he had the wisdom to see he would have been a totally unnecessary addition to the chase.
