What I love about the Spider Verse franchise is seeing all these Spiders working together so efficiently and talking to each other while doing it. This scene with Gwen, Miguel and Jess, Gwen and Miles date, the other with Miles, Pav, Hobie and Gwen at Mumbattan.
It's like eye candy.
Especially scenes where they toss folks towards safety. Despite the, uhh, later issues, their trust in each other when it comes to saving the people is 👌✨.
All the artists and the creators efforts did not go to waste, this is genuinely good in my opinion
Couldn't agree more! The dynamic between all the different Spider characters is truly something special. The Spider Verse has done a phenomenal job of weaving these relationships together, making it both visually stunning and emotionally resonant.
They're linked by the Web of Life and Destiny, which is why, when it comes to saving lives, they work like clockwork.
When it comes to catching Miles however.. it doesn't kick in.

Absolutely! That moment gave me chills. The combination of visuals, character development, and the score just hits differently
I’m surprised not enough people have talked about this because it’s so good without saying a single word. It visually tells us how the helicopter blade is like a reminder of her spinning her drumsticks, which in turn gets her in “the zone” like you said.
I really like the way Miguel went from "It's Classified" to wanting to dump his entire origin story 😅

Not necessarily. Across The Spider-Verse has loads of subtle differences throughout the movie depending on what country you watched it in when it released. No one really knows why, it might be a meta multiversal reference or something. In some versions, like this one, the "You're not funny" line gets removed. Another example of this that you can see in this scene is at 5:11, where Lyla takes a selfie with Miguel. In other versions, she offers him a fist bump. It's all very strange.

Worse is that most of the different versions probably won't be available to watch ever again outside of whatever low quality recordings people got in theaters.

@@knightinbattle3250yeah I was hearing from a coworker recently who was explaining to me that apparently some of the copies of this movie that sony sent to theaters was really badly mixed for some reason.
I like that detail at 4:08 where Gwen dodges that debris with the help of her spidey sense but Miguel gets hit because he lacks the sense.
But Miguel does have spidey sense. In the comic during his emotional breakdown when he’s crying to Timothy Tortman he confesses all of his sins and guilts and that includes how he purposely lets himself get hit because it turns him on and lets him feel something. It’s similar to how black noir burns matches to his finger tips just so he could feel something

Wanna know a fun fact? The animators confirmed that her swinging style in the movie is based off of BANNED gymnastics moves (banned because they're considered too dangerous) 😭 like dude how cool is that??? So fitting that spider-woman would push the limits of physiology.

I just realized one of the biggest misconceptions with Miguel when he was going to bite Vulture on the neck. Many people thought that Miguel was going to feed on Vulture, when in fact Miguel in the comics bites opponents to paralyze them, so he was going to do the same with Vulture till he was interrupted by the cops and they too thought he was a bad guy for that.
The scene is still pretty creepy…

Not the stupidly ridiculous "screeching and hissing" giant monster spider, but an actual real one. Creepy indeed, but awesome nonetheless.

7:15 is my favorite moment. It shows us Gwen's train of thought when she's fighting, that she thinks and develops a strategy before she acts and visually it's just so cool.

I love it when Gwen closes her eyes while the helicopter's falling and kind of gets into the zone. I especially like how when she closes her eyes it shows the helicopter's spinning blades and Gwen's fingers twirling a drumstick in the background.

Miguel is a bitter representation of an audience with specific expectations of what it means to be Spider-Man, not liking Tom Hollands Spider-Man makes total sense for him considering the departure from typical form in his trilogy

That little nerd almost messed up multiple different realities due to his own screw up.

7:15 yeah chills honestly. I always love when Spider-Man stops talking and dials in to start saving lives. While also it’s awesome to get a scene showing how good quwen is.
Gwen’s world gets me every time. Especially the colors that pops up in the background to match their emotions as she’s talking to her dad in the apartment. She was blue majority of the beginning because of Peter and miles. This movie was amazing and I enjoyed everybit of it. The way they ended it will make packed out movie theatres across the country for the third movie.

-The dazzled look on Vulture’s face when he sees the beauty of color as the music swells
-The fact that it very much would have been the last thing he ever saw had the helicopter not shown up

While Miguel's bite does paralyze and that's what he primarily uses it for, people forget that he has killed with it too. And honestly the shadowed coloring to his face kinda makes it look like that was what he was about to do.

I have the digital copy for apple tv and movies and dvd. And it keeps that line on all those versions.

I know everyone's talking about Gwen and Miguel, but I feel Vulture was an underrated character in the movie, I know he didn't have alot of screentime but his scenes were truly amazing, especially the Opera in the background (6:35)
I think my favorite line from the whole movie is how he calls peter the little NERD like he disses him with so much emphasis on the word NERD😭
He sounds like a stereotypical high school jock. "Hey NERRRRD."

Gotta congratulate Renaissance Vulture for giving trouble to three Spider-People with no powers and only 15th century technology.
I'd argue Hammerspace counts as a power, even if it's more something intrinsic to his world rather than something he personally has.
In this whole part of the movie. I feel like it's so apparent how much Gwen really loves being Spider Woman. And even though there was some difficult stuff going on in her life, it didn't stop her from her Superhero duties.
Her swinging to the scene of the crime has got to be my one of my favorite parts in the whole movie.
I genuinely love the way the vulture reacted to the city in this part of the movie
He's a genius architect and engineer, he has a big appreciation for building design, so seeing a modern cityscape is like looking at the magnum opus of a world famous artist to him. The Manhattan skyline is quite literally the most beautiful thing he's ever seen in his entire life, and his expression "Che meravigliosa bellezza" is confirmation of that.

Miguel running as fast as a bike
A pregnant Spider
A pregnant spider-woman being agile and awesome
The way Gwen calculates what to do with the helicopter
The funny way the pilots looked when thrown out the chopper in split screen
The way the Vulture repopulates his wings with math.
The way characters live in their own unique animation
I love the way the spideys in this movie save civilians. Its so cool how they swing a save them lol. Even in the part where theyre in mumbattan its so cool! Love this movie so much. Gwen is such a good character

7:11 I love how after a moment to consider the danger and the likeliest way of mitigating a disaster, Gwen gets busy eliminating the threat of the falling helicopter. Her spidey-acrobatics are done with a finesse that seems to be lacking in the other Spideys, likely a nod to her being a woman and thus innately more graceful. She almost seems to dance her way through this movie. It's gorgeous. The visuals of this scene combined with the excellent score was a goosebumps moment in the cinema.
I don't think it has anything to do with her being a woman, she's just a good dancer so it makes sense that her web slinging is well choreographed. Pavitr also has a gorgeous web slinging in this movie
I'm a woman and not a day goes by when I don't hit my head against a cabin, or almost slip in the bath, or almost trip while walking on the road, or drop my phone. Trust me, there's nothing 'inherently graceful' about me.
It’s because she does ballet that’s she is gracefully when she fights… not the fact she’s a girl.
I think that's just Gwen's personal style. Jessica Drew certainly isn't as graceful at the moment, and seems quite happy muscling through things with her bike. It's an interesting display of contrasts.
I really like this version of the vulture! He’s just got that aesthetic.

music on this scene fucking goes. gwen's theme (a reshuffled version of the classic spider-man theme) is amazing, Miguel's theme sounds like a horror movie villain because foreshadowing, and when they're working together to save the helicopter his theme interrupts hers in a way that's still building off it. it's so good.
And the vulture gets his own italian opera sprinkled in.
