My regular V15 was delayed by over a week, and dyson emailed me letting me know they'd upgrade me to the V15+ because it was back in stock first. It arrived in 5 days and dyson didn't charge me the extra upgrade for the plus model
U don't need to apply alot of pressure to the trigger with your finger. Just a little bit. Less stress on ur finger. Also the best way to use it is to run it when u need to then releasing the trigger when u dont. It preserves the battery longer and u get longer run times each session of use. U do yourself an ironic disservice investing in trigger locks because the constant running of the battery will shorten its lifespan faster than if u were to turn it off and give it a few seconds to rest like when u need to move something out the way, or to go to another room. Doesn't matter how well engineered a battery is. I've owned a v10 motorhead for about a year and I can tell u the battery lasts as long as I got it and I got it used.
the boing sound is the motor, it does not work like a traditional motor that uses carbon brushes, it is made by dysons own digital motor and the boing sound is caused by when the trigger is released, the magnets are polarised and the centre part where the fan is on turns left to right rapidly for a few seconds sometimes before it stops completely which causes the 'boing' sound you wrote you didn't know what it is. Hope this helps 😃
is the built in crevice tool and the special wand compatiable to v11 or other models? cant find any info. couldnt even find those parts selling separately
Very useful video. Thank you so much. I was torn btw V15 Detect + & V15 Detect. Dyson said "the HEPA filters are not for sale separately and it's not compatible for your v15 detect." Unbelievable. :( Dyson's online chat agent doesn't seem too smart to answer my questions. Quite disappointed. Wish Dyson has a comparison chart.
I use a small size dry circular paintbrush (like a basting brush) to clean the inside of that tunnel piece & filter inside the canister. It works very well. Where can I get that continuous on piece you showed? Thanks for your great review!
Thanks for the feedback. I have a 3D printer and printed out that continuous on piece. However, they sell them on Amazon and ebay for relatively cheap.
Where did u buy the low reach adapter? I found the same thing in Amazon but it doesn’t mention v15 as compatible. It exactly look like what ur using in the video. Do u have a link?
The low reach adapter came with my V15 detect +. They have them on ebay if you search for "low reach adapter" but watch out for counterfeits! The boxes should have a dyson label on the outside.
my dyson v15 doesnt work on the carpet while its mode medium or boost. because brush cant turn on the carpet while vacuum in the powerful modes. Is it same for yours?
Agreed with other commenters, eco mode and gates on full open is the best you can do. Even then, the vacuum won't work on some of my rugs. It just clogs the vacuum due to the suction.
I have the same problem with my V15 Detect Absolute. After cleaning my floors the first time the clean filter message came on. They sent me a purple replacement filter and the same thing happened. They’re having me send it back for a replacement. Hope it doesn’t happen again. I miss It already.
We love ours, it appears they have them on ebay now, try searching for "dyson mini motorized hair screw tool". If I didn't have one already, I would buy it again in a heartbeat.
Found ONE at a local Target. Dyson, the company had none. This thing is picking up stuff every time as though we lived in a dust bowl. What I don't like. 1. No light with the standard brush- what's with that???. I bought mini stick on lights on Amazon. I stuck one to the front of the brush. Works well. 2. You have to continuously hold the power button to vacuum. My finger felt like it was going numb in about 10 minutes. Found a $10 switch lock on Amazon. Easy to attach and works flawlessly. Push right to on and left to off. What in the world doesn't this come standard on a $750 vacuum. Those 2 items make this machine almost perfect.
this dyson shit is fucked up man, my samsung has no issues whatsoever, that bin not fitting well, kinda need to fokk with that, not very convenient, plus hold that trigger button all the time I mean wtf? I don't wanna keep my finger on that goddamn button all the time, dis nuts man. Bottomline, this dyson shit is all marketing, they try to convince you like you need it and that it's extra cool but in reality it's quite fokked up with LOTS of issues.

that is awesome, I wish that would have happened to me lol. Let us know how you like the detect+. I love mine!

Thanks so much for explaining that, it puzzled me for the longest time as my original DC35 did not have that sound.
you don't need a lock button at all, the button can simply be a toggle button like millions of other vacuums of the same type.
I’m returning mine I can’t stand that trigger every time I use for long periods of time it hurts my finger. I’m getting the v12 slim
is the built in crevice tool and the special wand compatiable to v11 or other models? cant find any info. couldnt even find those parts selling separately
It should be, they use the same connectors

I see they have some V15 HEPA blue filters on Ebay for relatively cheap. I feel like it should be a direct fit if you wanted to try it out.
Glad to know the hepa filter can be purchased separately, i was going to return mine to get it
As i bought the v15 detect absolute.

My v11 outsize does this. Fully open the gates, and vacuum in Eco mode. That's your only option.
@@resigningstars thank you
Yes I have same problem with v15..it just doesn't work good on hard or thick carpets..
Agreed with other commenters, eco mode and gates on full open is the best you can do. Even then, the vacuum won't work on some of my rugs. It just clogs the vacuum due to the suction.
does the hepa filter need to be changed regularly? or you can just wash it with clean water?
I just rinse and dry mine, it is re-usable. Just make sure to let it air dry all the way before re-mounting to the vacuum.
you don't have to take it off, just "hit" if open coupe of times and all the remaining dust and hair will come out easily
Thanks for the suggestion!

The boing is from the motor slowing down and to the permanent magnets inside.
Thanks for the explanation, much appreciated!
Hello, I like your videos. How could I get one of those trigger lock ? I don’t own a 3D printer.

thanks great review!
Thanks for watching!
does the v15 hepa filter(blue one)fits on v11?
It should, they look and feel the same
thanks. just got one and installed on my v11
I’m trying to decide between dyson v15 or a robot proscenic m8 pro for a carpeted house.
I have never heard of the robot proscenic, I'll have to check that out. Thanks!

Do not see link for trigger lock
Hi, it is in the video description but you need a 3D printer to print it out
I just got mine today and I tested it out. It keeps saying “filter clean” even though its clean. Anyone else have this issue?
I have the opposite problem. I have been using mine for months and never noticed that message. Hope others can chime in!
Yes. Dyson said to take back to shop and get replacement. New one does exactly same! Will test again tomorrow and see
Cheek though for the price they should give you 2 batteries
I need that hair tool !!!

I agree, after so many iterations of this vacuum, the lack of a trigger lock is mind boggling.
the built in crevice tool doesnt come with the absolute model in australia... so annoying!!
Yea, there are some features the US version doesn't get either :(
@@Driver732 we also don't get the low reach adaptor.. gotta buy thay separate 😒
they only come in the detect ones though! It came with mine and I’m in oz!
Did he just tell us his car.....lul.
