I've actually looked this up because I have a newly aged teenager and this is what I learned from Stanford's Children's Health: "Recent research has found that adult and teen brains work differently. Adults think with the prefrontal cortex, the brain’s rational part. This is the part of the brain that responds to situations with good judgment and an awareness of long-term consequences. Teens process information with the amygdala. This is the emotional part."
100% the sad thing is if you have trauma as a kid you learn to think with the rational really quickly. I was always praised in my teen years for making responsible and adult decisions and while my parents teaching me well played a part in it, so did the trauma. It becomes this coping mechanism to make sure you don't get hurt again so it naturally falls into place with other situations too. Even when I was like 1-3 I could go into my favorite doctor and tell him if I was on medication and what it was and tell him exactly what was wrong. My mom said my doctor literally would call in any new nurse to hear me talk because of how impressed he was lol. I think having a medical professional as a dad and a mom that wanted me to speak for myself so I could describe it in my own words, helped with that.

Omg.....I was doing this like 17-18 years ago, but opposite. I had blonde hair on top and black underneath. It was soOoOoOoOoOoOooo much cooler than Emma Chamberlain's hair!!!
I've been where this girl is so many times. I colored and cut (yes, really) my own hair for 30 years before I realized that if I spend $180 every 3 months in a salon it isn't more than I was spending coloring my own hair, correcting what I did wrong with 2 or 3 additional "corrections," cutting off chunks with my "just like the pros use!" scissors from Sally, and buying expensive "healing" products that didn't work. Now after all these decades, I look in the mirror and love my hair.

Completely agree, I have moved away from Brad to this lovely guy. He predicts the results before it happens 95% of the time, Brad is always off as of late. I feel he is putting less work into his videos when you compare it to videos and a work ethic like this guy!

Melissa Bailey oh boy! For 20 years he’s been asking me not to go blonde. I’m always faffing with my hair when I get bored so while he was touring I sent him a picture of my new hairdo! I waited and waited for the call to come in and after a time I had to call him. Straight away I asked why I hadn’t heard from him and he said he couldn’t believe I’d done the one thing he’d asked me not to but didn’t want to call and tell me he hated it. Preferred not to call instead of hurting my feelings! I carried it on for a while saying I loved it and was thinking of keeping it and I finally gave in when he said “You’re the only brunette I’ve ever loved and I love you so much more because of it! It reminds me how special you are” I kinda melted at that and had to fess up! Didn’t know it meant that much to him, bless him :)
@@SassySarrie Well that's the sweetest thing I heard in ages!! As much fun as it is messing with our guys, I feel a little bad for yours just because he seems so sweet. It sounds like you got yourself a one of a kind...definitely a keeper right there. I do understand though the urges to change your hair from time to time. My husband loves me keeping my hair on the lighter side. I have been a blonde my whole life and we met in school so that's just what he's used to. I get the urge to chop it off to my shoulders and go a deep dark red or brown. After watching these videos though I will pass on the red...it will never come out.
Melissa Bailey Yh Red is a total nightmare to remove / cover especially as you’re lighter. I do understand that feeling of wanting change though I cut my fringe back in again yesterday after watching these videos gave me ants in my pants but I took it a little at a time. Maybe that’s something to do instead of lopping it off and regretting it later. Take some off and wait a couple of days to see if going shorter is still something you’d want to consider. I know it grows back but once it’s gone it gone! The last time I went short I ended up looking like a pumpkin head haha 😂 Stay safe during this time. I’m just getting over the virus so would not wish it on anyone! Wash up and glove up if you have to go shopping. I haven’t been able to leave my house in 6 months due to disability and I still got it! The Dr thinks my hubby bought it home with him as well as the shopping! Good luck whatever you decide to do and please if possible I’d love to get an update:)?

That was so awful, and so were two chunky highlights just on front of head. I had those with inevitable thin eyebrows. 😄 Luckily there weren't so many cameras back then so I have very few photos. 😁

See my non knowledge of hair dyeing and coloring and bleaching, always has me assuming that any bad dye jobs or bleach jobs were intentional, and therefore they are beautiful since I assume the color was supposed to be that way, even if there are patches and splotches I always just assume that it’s a cool brand new hair trend that I’ve never heard of.. 🤦♀️ This is why I have also never dyed my hair, because I would go around with a bad dye job thinking “This is fine. This is great! This isn’t the look the box showed, but it’s still a look 😃!” 🤣🤦♀️

What I have learned from watching these videos is to simply write down what you have done to your hair, with the date, and product brand names. That way you can have a general idea of what you are working with. Especially if you put dark over it so you can’t visually see your mistakes.

I have really long hair and would love to go short, but no one in my family wants me to cut it short. Perhaps I should bleach it, turn it to noddles and then tell them it’s got to be cut short to cut off the damage 😂

Let me just say you have no idea of true pain until you get bleach in your eye ! Ok mine was laundry bleach that my mom was borrowing from our neighbor that i was carrying home when i was 8 but still ,I thought my eye was burning and falling out in piece's as i ran down the street to get home .My vision was blurry for like 6 months after and now my iris is oval instead of round ,and the color of it is reddish lite brown when my good eye is light brown with reddish hue in the summer .😊
Bottom Line Stay Away From Placing any Kind of Bleach Near or Around Your Eyes !
3 yrs ago I burnt my hair from just under my breast to shoulder length. But the scary thing was that it took several days for it to completely break off. It was complete torture. I wish it had just all fallen off in an hour lol.

Thankfully I grew up before Sally's was a thing. I learned my lesson after using my bff's spray "SUN-IN" poolside in my backyard. Fortunately I just gave myself some hideous orange highlights and my mother took me immediately to the EDUCATED, EXPERIENCED, PROFESSIONALS and before he would fix it he made me promise I would never do it again lol. I learned my lesson.
Sun in is gradual, if your hair is dark it turns orange before it turns blonde
