I use a dremel for cold working glass, which is done with lots of water. I use one of these: "Dremel 225 Flex-shaft - Multi-Purpose Flexible Shaft Extension for Dremel Rotary Multitools". You can hang the Dremel up and use the flex shaft with the saw on the end and not worry about dropping the dremel into salt water and causing fires, power outages, etc.! ;) It might also be more comfortable as the flex-shaft feels more like using a pen rather than having to balance the whole dremel when working on something small. Having sustained the odd stupid injury when coldworking, please use a wood/perspex block to push the frag against the saw blade rather than your finger! You made me very nervous! Great video though! Look forward to seeing it when it has encrusted. Glad you didn't need to superglue fingers back on! LOL

You could actually “graft” different color corals of same genus species onto a spread out old dead skeleton.
Would make an outstanding display piece.

Thats super interesting. Its also what you see in the wild a lot, with corals growing over its own sceleton.
But how about some grafting of strains with different growth rates? I know some A. hoeksemai grow reeeally slow, but others are quicker. Maybe graft those and hope for better growth of the slowgrowing parts, like you would with trees 🤔

Gotta, place a couple pieces laying down around the bottom to grow up and connect. It's unlikely it will grow down, it will encrust a bit then fan out. I've done this a few times.

So the tiny pieces you cut off, do you glue those to frag plugs too? If so, how quickly does it take the coral to close the wound over the exposed skeleton? Does it grow in a mound then or does it start to grow in a spike?
