In Texas I always over seed with Titan Rx turf fescue seems to do great in the summer, in the past I have used black beauty original and it didn’t do great in the summer since it gets really hot in Texas
Do you use it during spring or also around this time of year?, recently bought a home and the yard is mostly dirt what would you recommend for something around august to put down In central Tx

No grass seed is safe for dogs as far as I know.
@@trustranker my dogs eat grass seed for lunch and dinner and then are flourishing so, there's that.
