I can't see how long term experiences users would speed up their workflow with this fiddle box, keyboard shortcuts are always there, a mouse or trackpad does the rest
Logi should make a full keyboard with those buttons and have the standard keyboard shortcuts pop up for the different creative apps. Easier and less devices on your desktop. Great video!
People have tried similar things in the past. I think main issue is getting LCD tech into a key form factor and maintaining the incredibly high standard of feel/responsiveness that people expect these days from a keyboard. Nemeio has an e-ink key display, but I believe it suffers from the same issue. The Flux keyboard has an interesting take on the idea, with a transparent keyboard sitting on top of a touchscreen (probably inspired by the niche dual touchscreen laptops like the Lenovo Yoga Book). But yeah, if someone could get it right it'd be sweet (speaking as someone who hoped to be that person, and did some research in the past *discouraged-face*)
Also to any one who might read my comment above and be interested, don't pre-order the flux keyboard. It's been an ongoing project for a long time with little to no updates, and will likely take your money and never deliver. Wait until it's actually available for purchase if you want one.
A detailed button programing manual, online or in the box, does NOT exists! I just got my Logitech MX Creative Console yesterday. Customizing the buttons from the color of the icons to the color of the text and figuring out how to program a button to execute a keyboard short was hit and miss, especially to those who is getting an editing console for the first time. You did clear up some of these issues. It would be great if you did a deep dive in all options available to program the buttons for Photoshop. Logitech claims that since the dial is contextual, it can be programmed to move sliders in any active tool in Photoshop but I have no idea how to program that function into to the dial.
The dialpad looks pretty neat. I also like the dedicated forward/backward page buttons on the keypad, which on the Stream Deck, requires sacrificing the corner button(s). Making one device wireless and other wireless, then bundling them to be sold together (and not available separately) is odd. I would take a Loupedeck Live S over this bundle. For those needing the just the buttons (and maybe some dials), there's also multiple models of the Stream Deck.
I use a Razer Tartarus Pro gamepad. I've used Razer gamepads for years. Infinitely customisable. Also changes functions depending on what program you use. Fantastic for gaming and I've used it for Photoshop for years. I never touch my keyboard in Photoshop or DaVinci Resolve and I have a load of custom macros. Same program controls my mouse and keyboard too. Tartarus Pro is half the price of the Creative Console and is way more ergonomic - it's designed to leave your hand on it. Just another option.
If that's your use case and recommendation, no arguments. But the tartarus pro is an entirely different type of device. If you want to compare this to a razer product it should be the razer stream controller. Which is nearly $100 more than the creative console.
@@AirIsLungFood I just think something like the Tartarus or Orbweaver have more flexibility. I don't just use my PC to edit. I edit, do work and play games. The Tartarus works well for all of these things and is very ergonomic. No need to change peripherals when switching from editing to gaming etc.
As a professional photographer I use adobe Camera Raw most of the time. Can you set knob to exposure settings and temperature settings? I think its not possible to assign for ACR.
What does this bring to the market that isn’t already here? How does it compare to a loupedeck? Why were there 8 pop-ups on their site? Why don’t they show the price on the store product page? (Like scam sites, they show the price after you go to check out)
@@benni2294I own a Loupedeck Live S. I think the software is better for the simple reason that the community can develop new plugins to support programs. OBS for example has a plugin that connects directly via websocket and allows you to manipulate sources and scenes without needing the software to be in focus and without the need to set up keyboard shortcuts. Downside is instead of distinct buttons, they have a touchscreen with a divider. I would upgrade to a hypothetical CT 2 if they made it have buttons like Elgato's Stream Deck.
I went through all of your videos to find your wood desk and there is not a single video with the answer. Not in the comments or the description or your website. Can someone please help?
Although I'm not disregarding this as a useful device to probably program some hidden hard to access functionality, a power user knows how to use keyboard shortcuts/hotkeys. And it's a lot less expensive than the $230 Logi asks for this, also less things to carry, charge and power.
Interesting proposition if it could also just mimic f13-24 I already have workflows and python scripts that control photoshop externally to do things for me but I have them on some stupid ass key combinations so I don’t accidentally mess with any universal shortcut
You're entitled to your opinion, but Logitech is following fairly popular products from Elgato, Loupedeck, and Razer. They certainly aren't trying to start a new thing that no one needs, they are stepping into a market with a large established user base.
@@AirIsLungFood thanks for the repley yes I totally agree in what you said but i feel kind lost over many button wich kill my workflow perhaps I will give it a try
$CDN270 That is a hefty price, The creative cloud does offset it at $CDN180 but I would want ot be earning real money using it. Not for the average home user. The dial would be handy for scrubbing the time line while video editing. Its nice that it is also available in white.
Only nit pick some people have mentioned..is that too bad there isn't a clickable button like the same size as the other 4 buttons on the Dialpad..but it would be on the center of the dialpadl..or even the whole dialed is able to be pressed down. that would have been nice giving even one more option to customize..lol
Good video! I was so jazzed, I bought one immediately. I'd thought Logitech had re-invented itself with such a cool new tool. Unfortunately, a big NO! They might as well call this an Adobe product. There are no templates for Excel, Word, or any other Creator package (I needed FCPX, nope! No template) outside of Adobe. Great concept, poor execution. In real life, i did not see the value of this product. I will be sending it back immediately.

I was also thinking this…
I love how he has to grab the keypad and press the button with his thumb while it's positioned on the stand. :,D
The Dialpad looks very useful, they should sell it separately. The icon keypad thing seems pointless, because you know, people can use a mouse.

How do you connect to Davinci or Final Cut Pro?

OK so it's basically an automated keyboard extension + mouse function.
To my mind a power user removes his hand away from the keyboard as little as possible this defeats that. An App like Raycast is where it’s at.

Logitech kinda lost my respect with the subscription based mouse ngl
They wanted a subscription. That's ridiculous
Hey, how to select lasoo tool. Oh, you need this loop deck thingy. Wtf, useless
No one needs this, extra things on your desk that are way to expensive. I use the streamdeck app on my ipad. Does the same for 12,- a year
Shame that it doesn't work in Linux.
More E-waste!
Hmm?
Seems like a waste of time and money. Power users not really worried about this.
