Good Morning Nerds, I'm a 60 year old nerd who has always cared for her skin BUT who also loved a bit of sun. We didn't exactly have sunscreen in the late 60's and early 70's. I love the products from Dr. Idriss and will say they improved my discoloration ( I have melasma and hyperpigmentation) almost immediately. I had 3 stubborn sports which my derm prescribed a hydroquinone/kojic acid compound cocktail which knocked it out in a month. Thanks for all of the information you provide here. I'm also a retired OR nurse who spent hours upon hours with plastic surgeons on skin, skin care etc while assisting on long surgery cases. Have happy nerdy week everyone. 😎

"Good morning nerds!" Dr. Idriss is so smart and sweet! Love it!❤ I'm in the same boat as you...55yo and in my blissful youth I enjoyed my fair share of mindless tanning days. And just like Dr. Idriss pointed out, I am now mostly bothered by the mix of freckles/sun spots/discoloration/hyperpigmentation on my skin. I think it ages my appearance more than anything and no makeup sits well over the uneven background. May I kindly ask whether the products you mentioned helped you are from Dr. Idriss' line? if so, do you use all 3 of them? Anything else you found efficient? I've been searching and researching to find "the safest and most appropriate laser" for evening skin tone but there's so much "infomercial" out there that's quite difficult to separate the hype from the tested and true... let alone the challenges of finding a great dermatologist and/or an experienced laser provider. I'm in the Boston area... just in case anyone has any good recommendations. Thank you so much for sharing your experience! And much continued success on your skin care journey!🫂

Also 60 and doc who trained in pathology. Live in a midwestern state. Remember as a 70’s teen using baby oil/iodine for a tan and begrudgingly using Hawaiian Tropic SPF 4. 🙄 Became a skin nerd on my own in my 20’s lol and have avoided the sun the last 40 years. Had laser done once in my 30’s. Not unhappy now. Have some freckles on cheekbones that I’m going after. IT’S NEVER TOO LATE. 👍

Laser treatments please! Especially for discoloration and rosacea. My face game has been strong over the past year (thanks to you!), and I really wanna add a laser adjunct to get rid of the redness. I work in a hospital and everyday I have people commenting on my face and how smooth and youthful my skin looks. People often mistake me for being almost 10 years younger and ask me for my secrets! I tell them it's consistency, your channel, and the damn sunscreen! Thanks for all you do!

I really enjoy your videos, and appreciate you explaining hyperpigmentation.
One thing I wish you’d cover in future videos is how to build an anti-aging routine for mature, reactive skin. Also I’d love to learn about best evening routines using retinoids (I use Trentonin .05). FYI, I’m 60 years old and I have moderately sensitive skin, I have to be very careful with fragrance, exfoliation, and acids, including ascorbic acid (THA in tiny doses is the most I can handle without getting a rash).
Thank you for all your videos, they are really helpful and informative.

ask your well-practiced and research derm/dr/plastic surgeon about bbl! Broad band light. I came in for this exact reason, few acne scar pigmentation and brown tones from youthful years doing cross country. I have broken capillaries and redness near my nose from blowing too hard and light rosacea. He recommended the bbl to even the skin tone as anything else I was inquiring about (halo and Morpheus 8) were overkill and mainly were for scarring and also way more expensive, but would only be a once a year treatment (halo) and the Morpheus would destroy fat in the face. No thank you!!! The bbl is recommended about 3 sessions at ~$500 each and I might even like it after one session and stop there. I get it done this upcoming Monday! Also asked my derm cousin about it and he approved ☺️

    • @ginam8718
      @ginam8718 3 місяці тому +2

I just had my 3rd BBL and it has been amazingly effective at removing two broken capillaries and lots of excess pigment. Topical products weren’t having the impact I wanted to see. It feels like a windburn the day of. Day 2 and 3 I saw darkened pigment. Don’t try to remove it! Let it come off on its own in the next 5-10 days. Downtime was really zero. You can wear makeup. Hope you find something that works for you!

I am 52 year old women and people say I don’t have wrinkles and look 35 !! I say instead I am aging gracefully cause I had the fortune of good skin health care since I was a young woman ! Sunblock and not exposing my skin anymore to the sun for the past 20 years has been my savior ! Never late to start !

So . . . personally, as someone with a variety of concerns, uneven texture is the worst. At least discoloration can be concealed. Fine lines are natural and expected, but uneven texture stands out and creates "discoloration" through shadows. BUT I love your line and I think it's so important that it exists and can target hyperpimentation

Wow....I subscribed to you first about 3 months ago. And I've watched quite a number of your previous videos, including ones about dark spots. It took until THIS video to realize that I was one of those patients you were talking about. I've been focusing on some loss of firmness in my neck (made a lot worse by recent weight loss), as well as some fine lines near my eyes and in my forehead, and acne along my jawline. However, I recently came across a passport that I had lost (lol) where the picture was taken 15 years ago (I was 20 then). I noted that my skin looked so much younger then, but I mostly attributed it to the fact that I looked super hydrated although I didn't even really have a skincare routine. It's also clearer then in terms of acne than it is now.
But I looked at it again and I realized that it's also WAY more even-toned. I thought they were just freckles because I've had freckles for as long as I can remember. But my skin looks way more ruddy and discolored now. It must have happened slowly over the last 15 years, because I definitely didn't notice that. All I noticed was my acne returning and some fine lines starting to appear. This explains why every makeup company that has a feature where you can look into your phone's camera and it will tell you your foundation shade gives me one WAY darker than my actual tone. I couldn't figure it out, but it must have been looking at the dark spots :(. It was giving me all medium shades when I am normally somewhere between fair and light (when matching with the skin tone that goes from my jawline to my neck)...

Yes, I know exactly what you mean!! I had no idea how messy my freckles have become over the years. As concealers & foundation are a PITA to cover them. As she said our "canvas" has gotten messy. I so get it now! Ugh... I'll be purchasing her products soon!! 🫡

Thank you for the advice you have been giving over the years, love watching your videos since IG pillow talk videos.
Can you recommend the different treatments for discoloration. Like Pico Genesis, CO2 laser. Can those be combined. Do’s and don’t s, before and after care and how often to go for the treatment. Thank you 🫶

I’m using retinol, salicylic acid and niancinamide for years now and I’m very happy with my skin. Obviously I have very oily skin so that’s why this is the best combination for me,but I noticed some small wrinkles in eye area that I never had till now, I’m 32.

Thank you for your new line and for covering this topic, Dr. Idris! Am I correct in thinking that Tri-Luma would be a good supplement to your fade line?

I bought her product line and have been using all 3 products twice a day, every single day for 2 months. Not one single improvement so far. But the products are nice.

Thank you for sharing your experience. What you shared was exactly what I was hoping to hear from others who have used her product. I have tried so many products that contain all the ingredients that she mentioned but no improvements after over 3 months using them, so I started thinking maybe I should try her products. I am looking for a product as maintenance after hydroquinone 4.5% prescribed by my dermatologist. The hydroquinone worked wonders but after 4 weeks, my Malasma always re-appeared. Since my dermatologist advised me not to use it for more than 3 months at a time, she suggested products that I can use for maintenance, but no success. I am 67 years old and my Malasma started after post-menopause taking supplement. I have no wrinkles on my face, thanks to my genes. Again, thank you so much. I still watch Dr. Idriss. I get good information watching all her videos. She's a crack-up and fun to watch🤣😂

I have a acne scarring from my teen years. I grew up when there really weren't any good acne treatments available. So, I would wash the heck out of my face and lay out in the sun because I thought a tan would dry up my acne, or at least hide it. Ugh, not smart. So, I have acne scars and age spots! Therefore, I am interested in the best way to tackle my scars. Peels? Lasers?
I love your Saturday Skin School Sessions. 💜

thank you for this, great and informative video, loved it. I would really like to see one on upper eyes. Everyone has a million videos and ideas on under eyes, but since the end of my 40s I swear it doesn't matter how much I try to hydrate my upper lids, they still go crepey. They do start to sag and get puffy too, (I know cold spoons!), but the crepey thing drives me crazy. I have tried that many eye creams and nothing seems to help!

Thank you so much for being a voice of reason in the midst of all the crazy skincare opinions out there! I'd love to hear about those little red veins that show up around the eyes and random places, maybe burst capillaries? Looks like a tiny red worm under my skin haha. Once they're there they never leave!!

Those broken capillaries are best treated w/azaleic acid, which you can get OTC. For Rx strength, go to a dermatologist. I’ve used both, It’s worked for me.

    I tried it all 😢
I got Vitamin C, Azelaic, Niacinamide and Retinal in my skincare since years und recently upped it to the Dr idriss system and Hydroquinone + Tretinoin from my derm.
Of course the melasma are lighter than three years ago, when I did nothing. But they are definitely not gone after 8 weeks.
A video about laser options would be great ❤
