Danny Shipley That's so true. He's got me into genres I didn't even really appreciate much. For those that I already appreciated, particularly blues, he inspired me to make it my own and not just be a carbon copy of the artists I enjoy. Dude is simply a master.
Gibson Blues I was thinking today that he has a melodic feel that really speaks in volume to this generation. Its alot about feeling with him haha. But yeah i could not agree with you more ;)

John is one of the few muscians that didn't want to stay in the spot light and persued real music instead of embracing the new pop sound. I respect the heck out of him for being one of the last huge musicians to really keep real music alive. Give it everything you got on the tour John the world needs more music like yours!

No shit storms, huh? I think Born and Raised is JM's triumphant masterpiece. I'm so in love with it and have never made it through the album without crying. It's gorgeous, heartbreaking, raw and honest...and brilliant...just brilliant. And now JM has a new album coming out this summer...so exciting.
I agree. Even considering the new albums like The search for everything and Sob Rock, I think Born and Raised has something special, maybe something more honest.

How can you not LOVE John Mayer? he is the best, the smartest, the most talented and funny.
If I ever got to meet John, I'd want to thank him for everything he's created. Not only has he influenced me immensely as a musician, created an amazing legacy filled with heart and soul, but his music is relatable, and has helped me through some tough times. You'll probably never get to read this, but thank you John, no one plays the blues like you can; cheers.
Queen of California is definitely one of his most underrated songs, it gives that eclectic feel of ain't wastin time no more. So simple but so beautiful.

This is some amazing teaching. Love the likening of music to speaking, movement, creating a Photoshop image and the interplay of practicing techniques and then learning to implement and "sing/create/make music" from the heart with what you've learned. Brilliant prophetic teaching. Well done, John.

I got to see him on his 1st concert date in Tuscaloosa, AL and he was awesome!!! Glad he's back!!!
I feel like he's introspective, he think about his feeling and thinking a lot, I found it cool, that part of him is what made him develop his skills and improve himself.
The "weirdo intervier" is Don Was. He co-produced this album along with John. So, if you're enjoying this album, thank him as much as you should thank John.

10/29/2020. I watched this live. In fact,, I remember waiting for the days from announcement to fruition. I realize now (seven years down the line) that I had no reference for these songs when I first heard you play them here. It is really only now, in coming back to this that I hear just how different your renditions were, from what I have come to know, -the songs from the record and renditions also from past (beautiful and sorely missed) concerts. All beautiful, no preference. 😊🐯. (PS: This was also the day I became aware and an admirer of Mr. Don Was 🤲🏻)
I agree. I absolutely adore it. I've listened to it as much as I have continuum, perhaps more, and I'm tired of continuum. I still feel it from born and raised. Paradise Valley, his new one, is also incredible.

I fell in love with the way you play with the musicians that grace the stage with you. It reminded me of my early concert days in the late 60's/early 70's. In 2007 you began a rift and gave it to the saxophone play, then when he took the lead you hid behind an amp to give him the attention. You did this at the Lakewood Amphitheater. We are looking forward to your return tomorrow and plan to get there in time to enjoy Phillip as well!
