el gran senor as a 2yo winning the 1983 dewhurst from rainbow quest who later went on to win the arc (in the stewards room). el gran senor always travelled so well in his races and had a great turn of foot but as soon as he hit the front he seemed to think he'd done enough, one of the best 2000 guineas winners ever seen, went on to be 2nd in the 84 epsom derby, maybe should have won it, and then won the irish derby.

Pat got the blame for the Derby defeat , but as you can see he has the class. , but only just doing enough .

I think he deserved the blame too, Grenville Starkey got the blame for Dancing Brave and I think his was more understandable.
