Song or sound?
Early mid 80s. I'd rented this crazy mansion on the tip of City Island in NYC that most residents there today still don't know exists. It hadn't been restored, but wasn't run down. The place is called Beldon Point and is actually the windiest spot in all the five boroughs. There were many trees, but one was massive and very Edward Gorey with a huge crow in it that didn't bother with 'Caw, Caw!' but bellowed something that sounded for all the world like 'Horror! Horror!' while the branches swayed endlessly. Joe Keithley and D.O.A. as well as a number of other AT bands would stay over while on tour, with much cheap beer and acoustic guitars down on our beach glass strewn beach. Try to imagine gnar Hutch as an early 20 something sound guy. Everybody in the whole place was pretty goddam funny. I did, by accident, doom them at one point by making a colossal pot of irresistible black bean stew which they devoured most of and took the leftovers with them on a drive non stop to Cincinnati. Unfortunately, I had forgotten to pour off the first water after soaking the beans overnight, and six guys in a windowless cargo van driving, driving, driving........ Sorry, guys!

Of course, I have personally thanked him and shook his hand at every QOTSA and EODM show I've ever been to. I've got a few pictures with him somewhere. Always quality sound no matter where I've seen em'.

I saw QOTSA at Key Arena in Seattle and it was the worst sounding show I have ever been to. From the side section you couldn't hear the drums at all, it was almost like half the PA wasent turned on. I filed a complaint with the venue only to find that the sound system was theirs, they brought their own PA to Key Arena. I was using the bathroom and everyone there was saying "what the hell is going on? I can't hear anything; it sounds like a wind tunnel.

Key Arena is an old ass sports venue not designed for concerts and known for its poor acoustics.
@@MichaelSilverMedia I have seen over 100 shows at Key Arena and that show and one other were the only ones that sounded bad.
