***** it depends. josh is definitely better when it comes to technical stuff, like actually playing instruments, but alex has always been a better songwriter. also, what about grohl?
It's amazing to me that Josh can so easily transition from being witty, articulate, and insightful in a casual conversation to singing his heart out and not missing a beat on guitar.
I've been a QotSA fan for ages...but never really delved into who Josh was as a _person_. Which is strange...because I get obsessed over every other great musician I love. Maybe I liked the mystique of not knowing a thing about Josh the person. But, lately I've been looking shit up about him and watching interviews...and good lord, I adore the guy. He articulates my own life philosophy with uncanny clarity. I'm so glad people like him exist in the world. I love other people...like Bjork and Grimes(Claire Boucher) and Jack White and Daniel Johns(who's underrated as _fuck_) and many more....for the same exact same reason. These people _live and love_ music like it's their drug. And as someone who writes music myself, I just _get_ it.
His voice is so unbelievable, one of the most underrated singers of our time! When I heard him live for the first time, I could close my eyes and swear it was Elvis - and he had a cold!!
damn, he's talented that Josh Homme. great vocals and QOTSA are my favorite band as of late. saw them in SF this past year and am def influenced by them in my own songwriting.
To me Homme is the 21st. century crooner in a 5 piece killer big band! They swing as hell! It's like five Casablanca Bogard 2.0's jamming on their own interpretation of 'As Time Goes Bye' (with a volume pedal each to kill our unnecessary anger) for ever and ever. Must be a dessert thing.... I love their music and extremely strong live shows!! Five killer musicians! They would be Elvis' band for shure, should he disside to make a final comeback! Just wait, you never know....
Wouldn't you like to show the young Kyuss era JH this and ask him what he thought. Then ask the man in this clip to tell his younger self what he was up to. Just sayin...(love being olda...)
Does anyone know which constert "better living through chemistry" is pulled from?? Think its the sickest version iv heard.. would really like to hear the whole set :) Jon Theodore is such a fucking badass! Ho-boy really knows how to pickem..
This was released on YT on 16-02-2015 as noted above. But when was the interview made? I vaguely remember having seen a clip of it up on YT long time ago. Am I hallucinating? again? Help me someone....
Jesper Locher Josh has a couple of Guilds he shares with Troy, the thing with Guilds though is that they are built like brick shit houses. They are really kind of overconstructed to the point of doubling bracing, using thick heavy glues, so it's not going to sound like a Martin. That particular guitar is pretty interesting, it's the same shape and dimensions of the Bluesbird, which is basically thier Les Paul copy. It's not a guitar you would typically associate with the construction of a classic great acoustic, but yet again, quirky is right in Josh's wheelhouse. He has a guitar made out of a satellite dish. I think it sounds surprisingly good and projects incredibly well for what it is. A good dreadnought is like 8 inches thick, this is like an inch and a half and is louder than a lot of those guitars.
Carlo Von Sexron Interesting and durable perhaps, but c'mon....there are a thousand better choices than a Guild Songbird. Even Josh can't make that guitar sound good.
William Gray It is what it is. It's not a Martin 000 or anything, it's a cool little guitar you can carry around and practice on unplugged. He talks about it a bit in the Guitarrings interview he did. Funnily enough, the only other guy that seemed to embrace them was Barry Gibb of all people.
Zane Lowe is so deeply uncomfortable in his own skin and looking so hard for acceptance from everyone he interviews he's hard to watch... Homme is the complete opposite
Whats up with the lighting in the church? Like they just made some interns set up all the equipment and just said f it. Just get an amazing band on the show and let their talent carry it. No wonder I stopped watching MTV over 10 years ago..They spend all their production budget on lame "reality" shows and not on anything music related. May as well get a monkey to interview Josh, Zane is a dweeb
Greatest rock musician of my generation, IMO.
***** personally he's my favourite but the title could also go to Grohl or Jack White
jordan zielinski alex turner?
Prepsi Of TDU2 He didn't really come into his own until Josh Homme started mentoring him
***** it depends. josh is definitely better when it comes to technical stuff, like actually playing instruments, but alex has always been a better songwriter. also, what about grohl?
Prepsi Of TDU2 Turner is definitely not a better songwriter than Homme imo
There were many before Josh Homme, there will be many after, but he is one of the best of all time
It's amazing to me that Josh can so easily transition from being witty, articulate, and insightful in a casual conversation to singing his heart out and not missing a beat on guitar.
Such a fascinating human ❤
Josh Homme is fucking brilliant
7:41 Long Slow Goodbye
17:24 My God Is The Sun
22:49 Better Living Through Chemistry
35:31 Smooth Sailing
That voice is incredible and Long Slow Goodbye is the perfect vehicle for it 🖤

It's amazing to see the improvement in Josh's voice over the years, golden!
Pretty cool to see how Josh got introduced to Royal Blood and then would go on to produce for them all these years later
5:24 "I'll tell you where the gold is..." Huh, that ended up as a lyric on Domesticated Animals.
Fckkkk I heard it, and it was like.... shite, he thinks about his life and there is a new song to be write
You're solid gold, see you in hell
I got chills so many times during that performance of Long Slow Goodbye

Chase Crawford Considering Churches are built for acoustics, it's not much of a surprise it sounds good to me.
Caleb Fretz Good point.
Caleb Fretz | they're built for GOD you Satanic heretic!
I think he's talking about architecture
Chase Crawford *reverb
This is amazing!! Never one guy with a guitar did sound so... divine?
Thank for uploading this! Love hearing JHs voice in the church. What a great vocalist.
His voice is so unbelievable, one of the most underrated singers of our time! When I heard him live for the first time, I could close my eyes and swear it was Elvis - and he had a cold!!

that performance of long slow goodbye was something ELSE in those acoustics!
one of the best solo performances I think I've ever seen.
That long slow goodbye performance was a trip
Josh rules! Love this Interview. He is such a real character. Is so so very HIMSELF and that's why he is so damn cool and lovely!
I really like the sound from the live performances. The bass in general is so thick.
I still miss Nick but Mikey is definitely part of the story now.
Joshua the most talented man who walks the musical earth

damn, he's talented that Josh Homme. great vocals and QOTSA are my favorite band as of late. saw them in SF this past year and am def influenced by them in my own songwriting.

long slow good bye was amazing
got dang. Josh channeling his inner Thom Yorke and Jeff Mangum on that acoustic number!
Man, the acoustics!!!
To me Homme is the 21st. century crooner in a 5 piece killer big band! They swing as hell! 5:00 "those aren't polka dots...they're connected!"
I was there when this was shot, it was fucking amazing, the energy of the crowd was insane. One of my best concert experiences so far.
Five minutes in and we have our first masturbation joke in the church. Fantastic.
5:45 "..a bunda, a bunda, a bunda, a bunda..."

If anybody can tell me what it says on the guitar in 12:38, I'll buy you a drink in the next life
11 months later but it says all my confusion is waving goodbye. They are some of his lyrics.

uMovie97 Guild Songbird more specifically.

And then Queens toured with Royal Blood.
What is he playing? E - C - D?
Long Slow Goodbye is E, G, D for the verse and E, Am, D, for the chorus
i wish i didn't hate Zane for no reason.
he must be sick n tired of being asked the same questions over and over again (generator partys... c'mon move on!) xD
Zane Lowe is so deeply uncomfortable in his own skin and looking so hard for acceptance from everyone he interviews he's hard to watch...
Homme is the complete opposite
+Clive Barnes stop projecting
he just confused lol
