Thank you for such a clear and concise answer on oats, My understanding is much clearer now.
Thank you for sharing doc
Thank you this has been very helpful. I have only just started in last weeks eating the steel cut oats. prior to that, I only ate granola with the rolled oats, and lots of seeds. I am now wearing the continuous monitor and confirm that what you say is true for me. So sorry to hear it is so costly in India. Here in Bermuda, a lot of things are also exorbitant BUT oats only cost about $4.00 a pound for organic, and $5.95 when prepackaged . Tomorrow I will try the Buckwheat groats after soaking.
I ate oats for a week, twice a day and used to walk 5Km a day and my sugar levels rised from 99 to 127 ( before breakfast ) 😢😢
Thanks, Doc! I hit the like.
Thanks for the update my husband have high cholesterol and I gave him rolled oats every morning and when he did his blood works the doctor gave him a clean bill and told him to continue with his diet
Rolled oats cooked ? Or soaking overnight and eating raw?
Which brand rolled oats do you use ?
Good information doc.thank you.
Thank you doctor Mohan for your advice described clearly god bless you 👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏
Nice to know the differences between the two types of oats. Steel cut oats and the other one. The one with the bran has more nutritious and doesn’t increase the glycemic index, hence it is a good item for breakfast.
Thank you Dr. VM for clarifying the differences between the two and its benefits to a diabetic patient as a person who has BP too. Even Colon Cancer can also be avoided, constipation……Some diabetologists also recommend not to eat oatmeal due to the high glycemic index of the other type and it is an eye 👁️ opener for me too since l am a diabetic person for about 12 years. It’s a very educative video
Thanks a lot, Dr. Mohan for your clarification on the Oat meal.
Thank you doc for knowlegelable information about diabetes.more power./Philippines.
Very beautifully explained about oats. Where do we get steel cut oats that is good for diabetic patients?
Steel Cut Oats can be found next to the rolled oats, instant oats, in cereal aisle of my grocery store.
I was the THIRD generation in my family that your father treated for diabetes. Good to see you presenting this informative video. Thanks very much. Some observations of mine on this subject. I agree with what you have said. But from real life experience, please look at the availability and the exorbitant prices of rolled oats and steel cut oats in India. I think whole oats (groats) are a very good cereal especially for diabetics. It is not even easily available in India, and the few brands that may be available are exorbitantly priced, much higher than quick cooking oats. I thought that the more processing involved the higher the prices should be
It is the other way around. Maybe, very knowledgeable specialists like you can highlight this to the people concerned and help reduce the cost of groats, rolled oats, etc. Once again, thanks for the post.
Thank you
The products made to satisfy highest demands can be sold at lower prices but they may not be what you need to stay healthy!
Use Bengal gram- even lower GI than oats and cheaper.
@@drvmohan ❤😂🎉😢😢😮😅😅😊

So the processed nature of instant or quick oats increases its glycemic index. That explains my after breakfast spikes in spite of having no other carbs.
