- "Pogačar, what a boss. Did I see a smirk on his face?" asked Lance after the defending champ took the stage and increased his overall lead. The guys talk about Bastille Day motivation from the riders, who is riding without a contract and the race for second place.

Rolf Sørensen called Carapaz's bluff really early on that last climb on danish tv. He said when a rider is grimassing and grinding teeth like that and don't get dropped when other riders attack, something shady is up! Great call that early by Rolf Sørensen!!
Vingegaard and Pogman told in interviews they had a short chat about Carapaz, i think 5k from the top, they almost said on top of each other that Carapaz was not on the limit like he wanted them to believe, and might attack soon!
Everyone called the bluff. I didn't know Jonas and Tadej were working together. At least we had a good spectacle!
Hells yeah. Those mini attacks while Carapazz was faking showed that he was in fact... Faking.
I called it too
I'm leaving a comment for the JB2 Stage 17 podcast since it isn't on UA-cam. Johann, your knowledge and predictions are just AMAZING! Lance, George, & JB - you guys are entertaining & insightful, but there's a reason Johann was such a great director sportif for US Postal. The 2 podcasts are great together. I've been tuning in since the days of humble Lance in the Airstream, and each year it doesn't disappoint. Heck, they're even showing footage of Lance from past tours on the NBC broadcast!
Lance: "you can't trust this guy as far as you can throw him" - that's too funny.
Listening to Armstrong deploring Hincapies' victory despite the fact "they were eating out of the same cereal box" is ff priceless.
Blhaha
Tadej and Jonas eating from the same cereal box
And LA says it's terrible how you can't trust Richard Carapaz 😂
Maybe someone should remind L.A. that G.H. didn't go after his critics trying to ruin their lives like a mob boss for a decade ....
Timestamp?
There needs to a cap on the amount of “game changers” per episode.
And “next levels”
4:30 Skippy Dippy
How long before they start trying to sell us pillows will change how you sleep forever
Dude, are you kidding me... I am a sucker for this infomercial shit and LA is the king. The LMNT stuff is super salty, tastes good though. The ring and whoop, whoop kick's it's ass in every reveiw I have read plus a great write up from a listener on the move.
shamwow
LMNT dude was awesome to hear from. I have always experimented with electrolyte mixes and have seen promising results. This confirms my suspicions. I ordered my sample pack and I am looking forward to trying them out! I love The Move and always have. Been listening/watching since the “Stages” days!
Fantastic answer of Michael Phelps and Tiger Woods by Lance. Completely agree! 🏊♂️🏌️♀️

You're a friend my friend.
@@rafalemosss A friend of yours is a friend of mine.
I really enjoy listening to your show!
Thank you, guys!!
I have been watching some Johan race videos, fun, fun😊
Go George!!!!=)
Armstrong saying “you can’t trust this guy…” jajajaja, oh my god!
No one knows better than him 😂 you can't trick a tricker
Jajaja Soy de Ecuador y se me vino exactamente lo mismo a la mente... Simplemente no tiene autoridad moral para decir algo así de nadie menos de un símbolo deportivo actual del Ecuador.
LA not really known for his self-awareness…
Every time Phil and Bob say “The Move” I am reminded to watch The Move on UA-cam.
Pogacar wanted to win today because today is the only day his director, Alan Peiper is in France & he pulled it off. Great stuff
You mentioned Pla d’Adet. I remember watching George win that stage at the Amante Cafe in Boulder, CO. Seems like a long time ago. At that time in my life, I had all but given up on cycling (or any other form of physical exertion to be honest). It was inspiring to see what was possible, what a human could do. On a bike! So I bought one. Then another. Road, MTB, racing, adventure. It was fun to meet you guys in person at 24 Hour Town in 2018 (your Old Pueblo episodes are some of my favorites). And next month, I'll be taking on the Tour Divide (again, 2nd attempt). Keep riding guys! Who do?!
We do!
I don't ride, but love the sport and listening :)
When LA says "I am not throwing any personal shade" I lost it....
Did Lance throw George under the bus? “We were eating from the same cereal bowl”
I don’t think it’s being thrown under the bus when it’s common knowledge
What do you mean? George admitted to doping during the federal investigation into the US Postal and Discovery teams. George has technically been stripped of his win to Pla d’Adet (according to Pro Cycling Stats), as he admitted that he doped during that part of his career, however most people would still probably say that George won that day and is still accredited with the victory on Wikipedia.
@@JosephLycett04 and thats the problem. Why is George still credited with the win when they were eating from the same cereal bowl?
It makes no difference to me, these 2 are dopers/cheaters who helped destroying the sport, but it did make me curious.
@@druvik2052 he is not. As Joseph wrote, Hincapie was stripped of his wins.
George served a suspension of I think 6 months after he admitted to doping.
Just move the time slider over 5 minutes at the beginning to miss all the advertising.
And omit the phrase "Game changer"
After all these years, I hear you say the chain stay was cracked. Definitely makes more sense than not clipping in correctly. Very lucky it held with those watts.
Tadej was on his Rim brake bike today!
I love the show, love you guys so much. Lance, George, JB, Johann, you all make my day every time I listen to you. Lance and George, I really enjoy your friendship and listening to your stories and experiences. Also, I LOVE LMNT!!! When I heard Lance talking about it this tour, I gave it a try and I freakin' LOVE IT! I do CrossFit and strength training, I'm 51 and have been looking for a keto-friendly electrolyte drink supplement that I could tolerate and even like. LMNT hit it out of the park!!! Just like Lance, I love grapefruit, so the Grapefruit Salt is my absolute favorite, with Mango Chili Salt and Orange Salt right there with it. Again, I love your show and look forward to many more. Stay Salty AF, my friends. Who does? WEDU.😎👍♥️
It was crazy seeing the last UAE rider launch pogo and all the other domestiques pulled off at the same time lol.
Don't you wish you'd run clean Armstrong? Then you could be a pundit we don't hate.
NBC actually acknowledged lance today by showing him go off road and avoid the beloki crash. I forgot that he almost went down the same way beloki did but decided to push through the field lol. Classic.
You crack me up LA😆🤣😆🤣😆🤣😆🤣Same cereal box..LMFAO!!!!!
Whoever was directing Carapaz today from the car got what they deserved in the end. Nothing. He had no reason not to share the work. If he was 20 seconds behind Roglic then fair enough - not 6 minutes. Ineos are having a nightmare.
We need more of Lance and Johnan training stories
They won't be pulling Carapaz's ass up the hill tomorrow. Make that WORK!!!
Great show thanks
Are you going to do a podcast of how to build an American team ,
with all the thinking and preparations behind that
many many thanks
I thought dumoulin would be the new Miguel Indurain too, I even thought that Jan Ulrich would be the new one but in the end he only won 1 tour
Jan had a big doping disadvantage compared to Lance. They both doped ofc, but Jan was a more traditional endurance athlete: massive VO2max, lower heart rate (lactate threshold). So big engine displacement, low redline. EPO basically increases your VO2max (engine displacement) but doesn’t increase your redline. Lance had a naturally higher lactate threshold, so Lance got a bigger engine displacement from EPO and could run at a higher heart rate. I’m pretty sure Jan would have won more tours if you take the dope out of the equation.
Cant wait for George's book with the insider's view of the super domestique
Great one guys!
Does anybody have the col de portet times for today and 2018. it felt like there were going twice as fast this time
Love the LMNT interview with Robb Wolf! I use and love the product so much I invested in company!
Not sure if this is a disclaimer or an endorsement.
I'm looking forward to Carapaz getting this one back. Peleton doesn't forget shit like this, it's gonna be more than movistar chasing him now
Agree, getting a free ride was shady, I could see during the race that "his legs weren't matching his face".
Yea, U can say - I won't do any work and sit back, but playing "dead" and hope for other rides to do dirty work for U to take stage win and time - not cool
More of those race and training stories, gents! Love them
Roglic and Vingegaard could be captains on different GTs in 2022 - Maybe Vingegaard in Giro and Vuelta and Roglic in the Tour?
ok. I'll ask it. Lance/George. Do you think that Pogacar is on anything? While I'm at it, do you think that there's still PED use going on for the leaders/ lead teams? Yeah, the reason is that the amount of time that he's up is astonishing. Either he's THAT good at such a young age (which I really do hope) OR...
Uran also faded in the last 2 or 3 mountain stages last year, I think today we saw the podium in Paris at the front of the race
Apparently INEOS is the Yellow Jersey’s lead out guy all tour. WTeFF?
Second as break done 18:08
WTFF... dope fiends still milking it.. please LA and GH just enjoy your "blood money" and leave cycling behind....
How many ad reads..?
Lance: yes
Carapaz has no honor. His sand bagging today on the final climb was pure bush league. Pogacar would never even consider doing such a thing. Neither would Vingegaard or Roglic.
Was it Pogacar that started the first TdF TT before the clock started?
hahahahahaha such a "funny" comment
LA, George and JB, love the breakdown and analysis each day. Thanks for giving some insight that is otherwise not available. Help me understand Stage 17 though. Carapaz is getting criticized for bluffing on the final climb, but when LA bluffed at Alpe d'Huez in 2001 is was considered a genius move.
Kelly Slater could be the most competitive person ever he hate losing anything, even a table tennis game with friends.
Probably cos he lost all his hair by age 21 😂😂😂😂
Dylan Johnson needs to get BHL (Backwards Hat Lance) on his show.
Lololol. I had to read that twice. Well played sir. Lol.
the tour was over last week, unless he crashes or becomes ill
Lance, you put your cap on backwards when you woke up this morning, must be stage 16 was very rough on you
Carapaz: Oscar worthy bluff! The face 3.0
more like raspberry
I don't think Uran had a bad day, this is his (very high!) level:-)
Cycling start 4 36
Lance ain't kidding about an American loaded team. We know he can get the financial support. (roka, oura, the lotion, you name it.) Johan's suspension ends soon. It's time. Make it happen.
I'd like to see an American team again the sport needs a Universal input.
LA not a fan of Vaughters…
@@LIamaLlama554 that's for sure. But Johan Burneal I believe is close to being done with his suspension. He's a great D.S.
My bad. It's a lifetime ban. Damn.
What was Carapaz hoping to accomplish attacking so very late like that? Absolutely worthless. All the teams need to start working together and actually put pressure on the yellow jersey. This Tour is a joke - here we have a guy riding off his victory because of injuries, crashes and the time trial. Sure, he's the fittest rider it seems, but other riders can put a hurting on him if they tactically do it at the right time and launch with at least one teammate. I can't believe Rigo or Carapaz didn't attack on the first climb. I'm sick of seeing a 5:00+ differential from yellow to the next guy. The only thing I care about in this tour is Cavendish and the KOM competition.
Does anyone else hate the late time trial? I hate that Tadej simply rode every other team's wheel last year, did absolutely no work, wins it in the time trial on the 2nd to last day. It pisses me off that no teams continue racing on the last day. I hate that whole "gentlemen's agreement" - if the Tour is close, piss off with that champagne shit and fucking race for a win!
23:00 one of the memorable sport efforts in History.
Spoiler Alert:
apparently that epic climb was made with a broken alloy bike chain stay... if nothing else, that bike needs a place in some museum!
Bastille day... benard hinualt, trust me greg, you work for me and I will work for you... lol so wonderful. Greg, what were you on, coffee and coke?
No Uran had an incredible day the other 3 Carapas, Ving, Pog are just extremely super human
Jacky Durand (who's now a TV consultant) said right away that Carapaz was bluffing...
We have science in sport hydration tabs here in the uk quite expensive but worth it dissolves into water in about 2 minutes best thing to do would be to combine it with mineral water that already has electrolytes
The infomercial 3/4 of the way through. Not much stage talk today.
Any chance there can be a "chapters" list?
I am confused LA, how many times did I you FAKE being sick, having a hot day,etc...are u seriously giving shade to Carapaz for the same thing.
or dropping out a race upon hearing a test is waiting at the finish line...
George should be the one answering for domestiques
Ok so Carapaz is 1:34 ahead of Uran and 1:51 on O'Connor. 1:34 is too much time for Rigo to take and Carapaz is an adequate TT'er. Uran's only hope is to put 45 seconds to a minute (or more) on Richard in Thursday's mountain stage. In the final rankings Kelderman will overtake O'Connor for 5th as will Lutsenko overtake Mas for 7th. Pogacar will cruise to Paris with 6 minutes and some change on the GC. Cavendish will get the record on the Champs.
This is wrong. Lance has no shame. Irrelevant stain on the sport
Pla d'adet isn't that Georges favorite climb? It was frustrating that NBC kept calling the Pla d"adet the Portet......its not, portet comes off of d'adet
Pogotron is only scared of Jonas Prime out there. He's the only one that can match him.
Next year will be interesting. Hopefully Primoz and Jonas will tag team Tadej (pause) and Vingegaard will be in prime position not having to work for Primoz.
Hopefully co captains 👍
Great times!!
I thought Carapaz was bluffing all along not one time was there even a wheel length gap even though he stayed 3rd all along. Its obvious Pogacar does not like Carapaz.
Nice scoop on Outside buying PinkBike. I heard it here first.
Love your show guys keep it moving for the move and yes I do
Why not just sell performance enhancing supplements - oh wait they are. Maybe they can say - this stuff is just as good as what we took in 2004. I'll buy.
I still can’t believe AmGen was/is the title sponsor of the Tour of California. AmGen is the primary producer of EPO.
Who does his hair?
Opposite to mtb, road cycling racing is full of bluffing, poker faces and betrayal, so why the whining with Carapaz
Agree
Agree
I strongly disagree with your pick of Phelps as the best athlete of all time. Most sportshistorians are either arguing for Pelé (soccer) or Muhammad Ali (Boxing).
Each sport has their own.
Jim Thorpe - how are people forgetting him?!
This was a stage when Carapaz lost many supporters. It was really ugly!
Why? Poker playing is part of the sport
@@fhowland Just like that guy earlier in the TdF who pretended to signal to the non-existant team car that he needed help, and then he attacked. Not only that, but he did it twice.

I love how Lance goes right back to his teens to give credit to a swimmer as the best athlete …
Great Show Lance😃🇺🇸
Most competitive athlete but in different way Ingemar Stenmark
FYI - I haven't ridden a bike in over ten years (maybe 20) I don't watch cycling except for the Tour de France. I got into it because my oldest son is a Cancer survivor and my youngest son wanted to ride (Thanks Lance that bike was expensive). Now in retirement, I'm just blessed to be alive after a head-on collision (Dash Cam video : ua-cam.com/video/-hyumFMHqZ4/v-deo.html ) Actual meet Lance on the backroads here outside Nashville when he was dating you know who ...
Yes lance .... carapaz is not trust worthy....
Rally can make the US Super Team. They have the backing.
Lmnt works great
Lance:
When is the New Book coming out??
We don't like INEOS and we don't like Carapaz, Thomas is washed up and Ritchie Porte needs to find a team where he can be the leader ..we haven't seen him !!
Or he can go win IRONMAN…
Didn't he fall too with Thomas?
Thomas can’t stay on a bike to save his life.
@@fhowland Maybe not - but while he's sitting on the tarmac, he still has a TdF title at home. I don't know you Fred, but I kind of think you don't. Peace.
No no, you don't like INEOS, and YOU DON'T like Carapaz, don't generalize
Looks like JB has definitely leaned out bit.
took a few years
Bastille day and trying to make the French need a passport to eat in their own restaurants, drink in their own bars, watch a show and who knows for what next! Scare Bleu! Maybe a modern Bastille day is necessary.
Love the podcast and also love LMNT! I got my order last week and it’s legit!!! Orange Salt and, Grapefruit Salt and Raspberry Salt FTW!!!
My dance partner and I both sweat a lot, so we are trying LMNT for hydration when we practice. Now if someone can just figure out how we can keep our connection with each other when we are all sweaty!
this show is an interesting mix of haters and LA lovers. I think it is Great. To the haters, who in your book of knowledge, was a clean Tour winner? asking for a friend.
🦗🦗
intresting argument, so if 'everybody' was cheating, that makes it automatically the right thing to do and, total legit? Same argument as 20 years ago...
@@tfa8 Who in the fook is this guy? Have you been in a coma for the last whatever number of years???? YES, they all cheat and have cheated forever. If you are now just waking up to that fact, you better fasten your seatbelt buttercup. What sport do you think is clean? That might be a great spot to start. How about golf, NOPE, tiger, says the majority of the field (or anyone that beats his ass) is on beta blockers... troll
That would be awesome.Make American Cycling Great Again DJT may fund it, Get Ivanka out there promoting it....
So funny: "You can't trust this guy as far as you can throw 'em!" Describing Carapaz. He (Richard Carapaz) isn't gaining any friends in the Tour. He's quickly becoming a hated rival. For all his stupid fake suffering tactics that didn't work he should go scuffle off to Ecuador after the season's over and focus on his TT. Hope Uran and O'Connor delegate Carapaz to 5th after the TT.
Carapaz not making many friends.
Just wondering..who is JB and why is he on a cycling show? Is he just a buddy that adds a layman perspective? Thanks
Carapaz wouldn't be getting any draft at that speed anyhow
Agreed. What’s with the “pulls” at 8 mph on a 13% grade? Psychological benefit I suppose.
Its not pronounced Pog-a-char. It is pronounced Pogatcha.
It's a tricky one. Listen to Sean Kelly try and say his name 😂
Or Po-Gotcha!
Hold the Mayo, Hold the Mayo lol
Johan, Lance, and George need to start a new US cycling team! Sponsored by Oura, The Feed, etc., and some crowdfunding. Only problem is I don’t think Lance is allowed at the TdF anymore… 🤔
Or any race!!
banned for life on all sanctioned sports to be precise...
