Is there a way to apply them easier OR BETTER YET APPLY ONE FOR ALL VEHICLES?
@@def6420why would you want to do that? The velocity is different with almost every tank so using the exact same sight for every vehicle would make adjusting aim for any non-lrf vehicle very difficult and you would have to go off of memory. But hey man it’s your game, have fun!

Super relevant topic for regular WT players. I'm at just over 1000 hours, and i REFUSE to use the standard sight now. Props for educating everyone!
The standard Sight is Sh!t, I switched to a custom Sight that looks like the normal one but has the range marks just all 2-400m and the numbers direct next to them, not half the sight away that you can´t see it with a high zoom (Puma)
I too am just about to hit 1k hours (for my sins) and maybe it's about time I switch to custom sights lol.

@@aname1612 it does still surprise how milquetoast most people are. They think the smallest things are the strangest even when they aren't
There is also a half-cheaty custom sight which upon setting distance changes into a rectangle. Make the rectangle match enemy's silhouette and you can shoot :D works great up to 800-1000 meters on exposed tanks. Yeah, it might be not too fair but for newer players it can help to land shots

An important tip: The Safe area in HUD must be at 95% so the compass, in the Abrams GPS, will fit correctly in the HFOM 2 square!

Yo Ryan, you can create the custom sight folder from the main menu without having to go into test drive.
Just select whichever vehicle you wanna make the custom sight for (so that its in your hangar), open Options (in the top left corner of the main menu). Type in the word "sight" in the option menu search bar and it'll be the first option.

I absolutely love historical sights. I have a ton of them from RideR2 on WT Live, who unfortunately doesn't make them or update them anymore, and I use them on every single vehicle on which they're available.
The only thing I hate is "realistic" historical sights, those which also add a black area and restrict your view to approximately what the real gun sight would've been. I want a cool sight, not tunnel-vision. Unfortunately, the guy updating RideR2's sights and adding his own to them pretty much exclusively makes those.
If you know of anyone who makes a good collection of historical sights (who isn't RideR2), I'd love to see it!
You can easily remove the black outer circle

@@ODST_Parker Find the sight you wish to remove the circle, open it with notepad or any other text file editor and remove "outer circle" lines (or something like that)

Thanks, I recently unlocked the Pvrbv 551 and found the horizontal aiming guide numbers useless, so I just deleted them in a custom sight and now I can actually see what I'm aiming at!

I've got 2000 hours on console and just switched over to PC and I cannot wait to add custom sights
Btw, you will also be able to find some "Universal Sights" which when you install and put into an "All tanks" folder that is located within the "UserSights" folder. With those, you don't have to do the whole "Add a grid sight" and move each sight into the specific tank folder etc.
I make custom sights and I can tell you it is really easy to learn how to make / modify them, it is quite intuitive actually. If you've got some free time, you should consider making some yourself. I've found it to be quite relaxing and pretty fun to make your own sight and bring it into battle.
Anyways it's cool seeing more stuff on this quite niche topic, and I highly encourage anyone to try using one of those for themselves !

Suprisingly in AA the custom sight are somewhan of a gamechanger, especiappy in the early AAs
Illuminating the reticle is a must, its a shame i have to do it every battle but it really helps in thermals and shadows. Personally i dont use the custom reticles because the trajectory estimates from the default site are engraved in my brain lol and sometimes if i dont lase a target with a custom, i will aim a bit under where o would normally.

The user sights that I use look slightly similar to the default ones but are less cluttered, and they are way more practical and helpful than the default ones actually, especially with all tanks getting rangefinders inside the sights that you use to estimate the range of the enemy vehicle, and on AAs with 2 big circles around center which also help with the lead against aircraft

Custom sights helped me rake in around 350 airplane kills in about a month, I think, with Ostwind 2 on ground RB with over 2 KD ratio, sometimes shooting down as many as 7 in a battle😆😆😆 Over 1M SL farmed
keep in mind you have to GRIND the LRF and it'll usually sit at the end of the mods
so I still use the default croshair sight

Especially with t90 and t80u the moment you zoom in literally whole screen becomes the grid. You cant even see the target itself at long range if you aim at it due to the huge grid completely blocking any visual of the target itself

For what i know, the vanilla custom sight do change slightly the range between the crosshair when it entered in different temperature battlefield.... or so that what i know.
I've noticed no issues personally with ranging in different weather environments

What are the sights that u are using on the abrams in the beginning
i use user sights on tanks whose default markings are to crowded, making it tricky to see where im aimming at. examples being t80u uk um2. basically modern tanks with stupidly high muzzle velocity.

There are tanks in the game shooting the exact same ammo, of the same caliber, at the same exact velocity, and have different lines.
Check AMX 50 Foch and AMX 50 Surbaisse.

Sure, the Surbaisse has higher zoom, but I highly doubt a 2.5x increase is gonna be THAT different.

I use them for the increased accuracy as well as the immersion. As a German main, yeah; _You got to have accuracy..._

i wish they would add a setting to remove the aiming circle when in the gunner sight view, cause it just blocks more than assisting, plus the commander sight doesnt have it when in use and i can still aim it just fine

Perhaps you mentioned it in the video and I just missed it, if so, I apologize. But do you have to keep changing the sight settings everytime you play a different tank or is it saved separately for each one?
Once you apply a sight to a vehicle it will stay selected, unless there's an error like I mentioned.

I don't have the L/44, but I could do one on the A1A1 or 1A5, eventually. In general though I think the L/44 is a fine tank. The TAM 2IP is probably better imo, except I don't know what the difference in their SL and RP mult% is.

um, the option f9 part isn't working for me, i've done all the other steps and i have sights for the tank but it doesn't pop up after i hold/press option f9. why is that? (im on mac)

Hey ryan, can you please check out the amx-40? I just got it and it is basically a leopard 2k with armour that sometimes works and actual thermals.
I have kinda been wanting to do that one. I got it recently and am like halfway through spading it. Just wish the gun depression was a bit better.
@@ryanberry_ Yeah the gun depression is a bit subpar for nato MBTs but everything else is great about it, crazy speed, dm33 105 equivalent shell, thermals and a 20mm coax.
i been playing the game for years that i so accustomed to the default sight and brain just say go range guess is here and almost ignore the laser rangefinder most of the time i been playing the game. Anyone else here having the same problem? it only take a second for the range to appear and set but for me a less second is more deadly. But usermade sights is cool specially in sim battles

Its one of my biggest gripes of playing on console, the default sight is so shit for precise hits, the distance markers clump together, especially with high velocity rounds, making it hard to aim for small weakspots...

I would use the custom sights at top tier but I just cant do it for lower BRs, the default sight is too hardwired into my brain since if I were to change it I would suck at sniping since I never use rangefinders.

I'm not sure about the account stuff but I would assume if you're on PC then you can use custom sights.

ANYONE only needs ONE sight
a default one with a T-72 esque rangefinder wich scales based of your gun's amplification factor
literally better than manual rangefinding in any situation, quicker more accurate, and can rangefind over a kilometer away

Pro tip. If you annoyed by amount of anime-related stuff in WT-Life, then just add to black list authors of those stuff. If you blacklist author, his stuff won't appear for you anymore (while you log in, of course).
