The hstv-l is a great example of gaijin bias. Hstv-l sits at 11.0 with a penetration of 269 with 26 rounds while the 2s38 sits at 9.7 penetration of 221 with 148 rounds, proximity rounds, and irst tracking.

Supposedly a similiar bit about MANPADs with them saying they can't be that agile because they're smaller than Sidewinders and other missiles. Per example.

Honestly is it shocking that people end up getting so frustrated that they leak classified materials on the forums when the Devs are like this? Its entirely a self made problem and will one day end up getting Gaijin in serious hot water unless they actually start listening to declassified materials and give no reason to post classified documents.

The physics around destructible objects is wild. You’ll see videos of tanks going over cars with barely an issue (losing 5-10kmh of speed) and then when you do it in the same tank you lose half if not more of your speed
Dont forget about Japanese concrete fence on Japan map, it's still indestructible as always (unless you run it over, cuz it literally eats rounds for breakfast)

I agree that this is not a bad tank. However the thing is that even when you are on the top of the skill celling - your performance would be still HEAVILY dependent on random. Current state XM885 should mean "inconsistancy" in any language around the world. You simply cannot rely on it. One time it will one-shot BVM at 1000 meters other time it won't set off the ammo that was directly hit from 50 meters. Every shot is like rolling a dice.
I play top tier US quite often and I must say that I relegated the HSTV-L to one of my last spawns, it's just so painfully inconsistent having to hit sometimes multiple times a single crew member, or just not penetrating at all breech areas or common weakspots due to the anemic shell, extremely painful.

@TankistRazumist Typical vatnik apologist. Let's go point by point. The HSTVL is faster, but it's only by 10kmh. This is not a wide enough gap in performance to warrant a BR gap you are describing. The argument of armor is honesty hilarious considering just how little this matters when facing 600 mm pen kinetic rounds and HEAT warheads with pen in the 800 to 900 mm range. The HSTVL needs a buff, not a downtier. It had anti aircraft capabilites and it needs its faster reload that it does not have in the game. XM855 is also underperforming by quite a bit. Its pen is about 100 less than it should be(there's multiple documents saying it has similar penetration to M774), and its spalling is laughable, to say the least. The 2s38 with it's gen 3 thermals and IRST helicopter and jet deleting capability should be at 10.0 or 10.3. The M3A3 Bradley and Puma should also be buffed and moved up to a similar BR. As for the BMP-2M, it should 10.0, no buff needed. Lastly, you alluded to the Sargent York. This is a decent AA system, but severely lacks the flexibility of the 2S38 fucking miles. Kick Rocks

Yeah thats what got me out of top tier battles. You shoot russian breeches, they dont receive any damage, you shoot their guns, volumetric says otherwise. But the thing that definitely upsets me the most is the era. Totally unpredictable, making it unfair. I had kontakt1 eat m829a2 from my abrams, from a flat side shot. This is such an outrageous thing that I was forced to leave toptier for good.

Can we please talk about the turret ring on the HSTVL? It seems like every round I survive, which is unlikely to begin with, my turret ring is destroyed. This means that I will most likely die on the second shot.
Literally me in every Abrams. You could side pen perpendicular to my engine/transmission from point blank so there’s no deviation and somehow my turret ring dies, I’ve had shots that went straight through my driver’s feet (lowest possible pen point so nowhere near the turret) and my turret ring would be knocked out. If I survive the first shot, my turret ring will be broken and I cannot fight back. Also tried to turret ring a type 10 with M829A1…non-fucken-pen
My issue with the HSTV-L’s balancing is that the comparable Russian vehicle has both a lower BR and it’s proper fire rate. The HSTV-L should be slinging shells just as quickly.

if you're an HSTVL fan, check out the original 1980s G.I. Joe series, the Mauler MBT that the joes use in their fight against Cobra is a laser HSTVL. they also made a 3-3/4 inch figure scale toy HSTVL that was motorized and awesome, in 1985.
What about the lack of spalling on russian tanks? i saw a video of you saying you'd make some enquiries about it to Gaijin. But I never seen an answer about that.
the HSTV-L, from what i can tell from how i and many other play it, and it's overall characteristics, it is an incredible Ambush Vehicle. it is relatively low in height, and thus can be effectively used to basically hide in a Ditch and then open fire on multiple vehicles once thye have passed. use it for Ambushes and Scouting, or to kill crippled targets quickly to help alleviate the focus on a singular target for your team, and you WILL do well almost every match as long as the entire Team isnt AFK.
The HSTV-L was a remarkably small and light vehicle. The hull was roughly 19.38 feet (5.91 meters) in length, 9.15 feet (2.79 meters) in width, and the vehicle was 7.91 feet (2.41 meters) tall. With applique armor installed, the HSTV-L weighed 22 US tons (19.95 tonnes). The HSTV-L’s upper front plate was angled at 80 degrees. It was believed that this extreme angle, in conjunction with the HSTV-L’s special applique armor, would protect it from 115 mm rounds used by the Soviet T-62 Needs better ammo
what I've noticed about apfsds and russian top tier tank breaches is that apfsds does NOT like to go through even if you are using very good apfsds but when it comes to heatfs it goes right through and takes the breach
For the argument on the pen, the VCC 80/60 in the Italian line which I would consider the earlier version of the HSTV-L has a 60mm where the HSTVL has a 75mm. now just cause its a larger caliber doesn't mean anything... what does matter is the kinetic energy of the rounds. the HSTV-L has 2.4 Million Joules of energy, the VCC 80/60 only has 1.14 million Joules so the energy on the HSTV-L round is well over double the VCC 80/60. doesn't mean double the penetration... but should be more than the 10% increase you get 2.3 BR higher.
I know you've said you're not into academics, but your devotion to researching something as mundane as the characteristics of a dart on a prototype test bed that never got anywhere near production... and then writing multiple lengthy documents presenting compiled evidence with unique conclusions, you're basically doing the same work that a graduate student in a history program is doing at any notable graduate research university in the US. Even GLA scorpion tank are better. But since Attack helicopters are main attack force, we need this tank to hunt the AA, or carry them into enemy base. Also, the roles of Coyote tank is to protect many ground assets vehicles like Avenger SLIDs and Eye's Designator, that the laser pointers will increase target damage from the tank. 3:42 about the drivers hatch, there's been a bug for about a month now where APFSDS just doesn't ricochet no matter the angle, which has been fixed just today. So it's probably not that feasible anymore. Noticeably affected the Abrams UFP as well.

I think an underrated aspect of the HSTV-L is that it FEELS good to play. Even stock as mine is, I have a blast playing it because it handles nicely. Until I actually start shooting things that is. Then it becomes a chore.

Also, I'm fairly sure you only ever lose track condition hitting non-destructible objects.
Seems like some mundane items/terrain have been left coded as indestructible. I've seen a 50ton MBT blocked by a wooden table.

2S38 is 9.7 and isn't just a fast firing light tank, it's also an AA with a 57mm proxy shell and IRST
Yet they have the gual to make the HSTVL 11.0. 9 times out of 10, the 2s38 will kill you if you see each other at the same time.

@TankistRazumist Typical vatnik apologist. Let's go point by point. The HSTVL is faster, but it's only by 10kmh. This is not a wide enough gap in performance to warrant a BR gap you are describing. The argument of armor is honesty hilarious considering just how little this matters when facing 600 mm pen kinetic rounds and HEAT warheads with pen in the 800 to 900 mm range. The HSTVL needs a buff, not a downtier. It had anti aircraft capabilites and it needs its faster reload that it does not have in the game. XM855 is also underperforming by quite a bit. Its pen is about 100 less than it should be(there's multiple documents saying it has similar penetration to M774), and its spalling is laughable, to say the least. The 2s38 with it's gen 3 thermals and IRST helicopter and jet deleting capability should be at 10.0 or 10.3. The M3A3 Bradley and Puma should also be buffed and moved up to a similar BR. As for the BMP-2M, it should 10.0, no buff needed.
Lastly, you alluded to the Sargent York. This is a decent AA system, but severely lacks the flexibility of the 2S38 fucking miles.

Gaijin has the actual worst people on the forums, I submitted a report years ago for the Canberra Mk 6 regarding payloads and flight characteristics with 5 sources and they said it wasn't enough, I added a few more and the same guy rejected it. I still hate Smin1080p to this day.

Yeah thats what got me out of top tier battles. You shoot russian breeches, they dont receive any damage, you shoot their guns, volumetric says otherwise. But the thing that definitely upsets me the most is the era. Totally unpredictable, making it unfair. I had kontakt1 eat m829a2 from my abrams, from a flat side shot. This is such an outrageous thing that I was forced to leave toptier for good.

Can we please talk about the turret ring on the HSTVL? It seems like every round I survive, which is unlikely to begin with, my turret ring is destroyed. This means that I will most likely die on the second shot.
Literally me in every Abrams. You could side pen perpendicular to my engine/transmission from point blank so there’s no deviation and somehow my turret ring dies, I’ve had shots that went straight through my driver’s feet (lowest possible pen point so nowhere near the turret) and my turret ring would be knocked out.
If I survive the first shot, my turret ring will be broken and I cannot fight back. Also tried to turret ring a type 10 with M829A1…non-fucken-pen

if you're an HSTVL fan, check out the original 1980s G.I. Joe series, the Mauler MBT that the joes use in their fight against Cobra is a laser HSTVL. they also made a 3-3/4 inch figure scale toy HSTVL that was motorized and awesome, in 1985.

the HSTV-L, from what i can tell from how i and many other play it, and it's overall characteristics, it is an incredible Ambush Vehicle. it is relatively low in height, and thus can be effectively used to basically hide in a Ditch and then open fire on multiple vehicles once thye have passed. use it for Ambushes and Scouting, or to kill crippled targets quickly to help alleviate the focus on a singular target for your team, and you WILL do well almost every match as long as the entire Team isnt AFK.

what I've noticed about apfsds and russian top tier tank breaches is that apfsds does NOT like to go through even if you are using very good apfsds but when it comes to heatfs it goes right through and takes the breach
The thing on the bug report about the ammunition, you can pull a "Freedom of information act" with the U.S. Government.
For the argument on the pen, the VCC 80/60 in the Italian line which I would consider the earlier version of the HSTV-L has a 60mm where the HSTVL has a 75mm. now just cause its a larger caliber doesn't mean anything... what does matter is the kinetic energy of the rounds. the HSTV-L has 2.4 Million Joules of energy, the VCC 80/60 only has 1.14 million Joules so the energy on the HSTV-L round is well over double the VCC 80/60. doesn't mean double the penetration... but should be more than the 10% increase you get 2.3 BR higher.
I know you've said you're not into academics, but your devotion to researching something as mundane as the characteristics of a dart on a prototype test bed that never got anywhere near production... and then writing multiple lengthy documents presenting compiled evidence with unique conclusions, you're basically doing the same work that a graduate student in a history program is doing at any notable graduate research university in the US. It's impressive.

Agreed, the double standard that a 120mm that has a 4 second reload (pretty sure it is actually supposed to be a 3 second reload) is fine but a 75mm can't have a lower reload even though it doesn't even do any damage. I wish it was possible to just hack an update into WT that fixes stuff.
I kinda want to watch you take out the type 10 and TKX since it alleviates that reload and pen trouble that the HSTV-L has but with a 120mm instead of a 75mm.

Now I see that this HSTV-L tank is the Coyote Tank in General Contra mod. Its avaliable for USA Aircraft General and its alone outgunned by many MBTs. Even GLA scorpion tank are better.
But since Attack helicopters are main attack force, we need this tank to hunt the AA, or carry them into enemy base. Also, the roles of Coyote tank is to protect many ground assets vehicles like Avenger SLIDs and Eye's Designator, that the laser pointers will increase target damage from the tank.

3:42 about the drivers hatch, there's been a bug for about a month now where APFSDS just doesn't ricochet no matter the angle, which has been fixed just today. So it's probably not that feasible anymore. Noticeably affected the Abrams UFP as well.

I think an underrated aspect of the HSTV-L is that it FEELS good to play. Even stock as mine is, I have a blast playing it because it handles nicely. Until I actually start shooting things that is. Then it becomes a chore.
