Good shout with Bella, best decision mate 100%. Hope she’s fully recovered and back in the hills soon. Great spot that, looking forward to seeing the MLD bivvy Adrian, I bet it’s a beaut. Cheers, Dave 👍
Hi Dave, she is all good, 24 bug or a hard walk up and the headache causing sickness ? Who knows, But ready for next camp now, Bivy Is stuck in some depot now, apparently can be weeks !!!! It’s been over a month already !! Cheers Adrian
Hi Adrian, I enjoyed the vid, and Bella looked to be having a great time - a right little power horse carrying her gear, and you could see how excited she was being out with you, so my heart goes out to the pair of you that she took poorly and you had to head down, which was definitely the only decision. I hope she's all good now. There's been so many bugs and viruses going round, I had one myself last week - lasted 2 days then disappeared.
Hi and thanks for watching, she loves it, and has said will do a camp every couple of weeks, she either pushed too hard going up and the headache caused the sickness or it was a 24 hour bug, she was spot on again the next evening. Cheers Adrian
Ouch, a sick and sore time for Bella and she’s such a wee trouper ❤ She managed her way back home and I bet it doesn’t put her off camping. I brought my own misery on myself starting this at 60. Had water but didn’t drink it on the way and didn’t know that electrolytes staved off the leg cramps. Not the best of nights and I thought I was prepared! You must have been worried too but you always look for the good and your set up and lovely site made the adventure. You inspired me to use a tarp and I had the most amazing night under the stars ✨ Thanks for your great videos, I always enjoy them 😊
Hi and thanks for watching Yes I know how you feel, 62 and I feel it, even carrying the two bags back placed extra strain on the legs lol I have to start training on my dog walks with the 15 kg on my back As I need to be able to do it for 6/7 days Glad you enjoy a bivy there is no looking back Cheers Adrian
Hi and thanks for watching Yes a good move as well already and looking forwards to her next one, could not have left her cold with a chill, Cheers Adrian
Hope your daughter is feeling better. Those flat spots you pitched on is where the two Marks were pitched a few weeks ago. Those trees offer perfect shelter with lovely views. Thanks for the mention 🏕️
Ah bless you both. Must have been gutted. Bella must have been devastated to have to leave she was having a lovely time! The hills arnt going anywhere so we will see you both again soon hopefully. I have some lovely crags you can both access easilly from wooler and another set which would be great for a tarp which I have never seen anyone at. Hope the bairn is recovered
Hi and thanks for watching, Bella is already considering her next camp, probably a bit flatter if she carries the gear just in case it was a bit much, Secret crags sound good You can email the crags ! Or comment and I will delete ! Cheers Adrian
Hi and thanks for watching First bad headache she has had, proper stars in the eye stuff then the sickness But all ok now and looking to the next camp Cheers Adrian
Hi again, thanks for watching, Have you missed a few videos ? Bella really loved it, then a bug hit her, all good now, looking for to her next,it’s great she loves the views and being out Cheers Adrian
Poor kid hope she's ok now, not worth staying out you wouldn't of enjoyed it, there will be plenty of other camps so lots to look forward to. lovely pitch though and great views. Cheers 👍
I am so glad you posted this video, and I was upset to see Bella was poorly. I expect she was more upset you missed your camp together. We can call it a day camp instead. I do hope Bella has improved now.
Вітання з Києва та британських членів Інтернаціонального легіону. Good decision, hope Bella is OK and not been put off. You need to train with some weight in Bergen. We train with 35Kg on our back and can, if necessary operate with that weight - BUT we train every day (mostly.) Bella did well with her pack but she will lose body heat very fast. Take care and stay well. BTW thoroughly enjoyed your vid which we caught on a very dubious i-net connection. Helen and Katarin Juska-Law, Stella and Terri with Robyn.
Hi and thanks for watching, from. ? A secret location ! Yes I am going to start the dog walks with my 15kg trail load Cant imagine 35kg you must be mega fit, mind 62 does have it’s drawbacks lol You think Bella was losing heat going up, interesting as she never seems to show she is sweating, I will wrap her straight up on arrival next time, I must translate the start of the comment Cheers Adrian
@@northumberlandmountainhopper Early onset hypothermia can give the sufferer a sense of warmth (many who have succumbed have been found unclothed) and testing has shown that an appearance of great warmth is the cause. So long as she is OK is the main thing...hopefully ready to get out gain. 35 Kg is hard work, but as we train for that a lighter load is much more comfortable. A Roman soldier in the day carried the same weight most of the time. LOL time have not changed...Take care, Helen et al.
Hi Adrian, sorry to hear Bella was not well hope she feels better soon. Good call to play safe and head home. You mentioned you having a zip added to the Hunka, is there a contact you can share ? Wouldn’t mind having a zip added to mine to make side entry easier like the Elan
Hi tarn thanks for watching Bella must have had a 24 hour bug as on the mend and raring to go, Bivy zip, well not cheap, Alpkit repair shop at betas-y-coed did it, Dearer than the bivy, but what a great job, a fully waterproof zip so still water tight I will show it on Wednesdays video Cheers Adrian
I will be interested to see what you think of Ron's bivy. At 208gm that you noted, that must be one of his Superlights. Fyi, the Superlight bivies aren't waterproof, just spray proof with a dwr treated top. It will be ok if you keep your feet under the tarp. It weighs a bit more than other brands as it has side zipper, which I too prefer. If you wanted the equivalent of your army bivy you'd need to get his Event Soul bivy, and in the large size to match your issue bag. The Event Soul bivy is completely waterproof and in theory breathable. Its a 350g light weight equivalent of your army bivy, with a wire in the hood (not a pole). Just note that you need to seam seal the Event Soup bivy yourself.
Hi and thanks for watching I must have said it wrong It is the e vent soul bivy I have ordered, can’t imagine where it is, seems like weeks !!! Probably nicked!!!!!!! Any way I hope it comes soon, well pricey but heh I only bivy and it’s cheaper than a couple of nights in a cheap hotel !!!!! As soon as I get it we will review and test it Cheers Adrian
