You could've used the first harness, you just had to splice the red wire to your accessory/lighter Power wire, the radio interface is if you have gps/navigation/steering wheel controls/want to avoid splicing into the accessory/lighter wire
Same problem, but when I spliced the red and yellow to the red ignition wire I got power. Won't save any stations or time though. Need that constant 12 volts to power the internal memory. Hopefully hooking into the 12 volt socket on the drivers side will take care of that.
So for the people that having trouble with the hardness with out the adapter u don’t need the adapter all u need is the harness and u use the driver side cigarette light green and red wire u use the cigarette lighter wire to by pass the system so the stereo turns on u.. u connect all the wires normally the ones u need and the only wire u don’t connect off the new harness is the red ignition wire that plugs in to the harness going to the car… u take the red ignition wire that comes off the stereo harness and u splice that wire in to the left side cigarette lighter power wire I believe is red and green…. And u should have power .. reason why u use the drivers side cigarette lighter is because u need ur stereo to turn off and on when you turn off ur key .. the right side cigarette light is always constant power so it won’t turn off when u turn off ur key…. Leaving ur stereo on so you need to use the left side cigarette lighter power wire
You do need a constant power source. You can wire it as it is but using the yellow that is labled battery/constant + volts to anywhere that has a constant 12 volts.
Thats what I was advised to do by my brother. I installed a setup today and just told her to remove the faceplate whenever she turns the vehicle off for now. Wheres the best spot to grab that wire from? Easy access or no?

What I did was spliced a 16g wire into the cigarette lighter outlet and tied it into the harness. Boom. Power source.

U can either hook ur red and yellow together for power or hook ur red wire too your 12v wire to ur HVAC controls
