Truly nurturing, I was floating in saddle, wonderful bliss after a really tough week for my body and mind with life saving blood transfusions and an operation. To be able to access this gentle, loving, gracious practice shared by so many and given so generously and compassionately is beyond words, is love.
Aah how special to catch this live. Also love the use of the props, softening deeper. Feeling into that Sutra extending in all directions, vast as the sky. Thank you 🙏🏻 🩵
I absolutely love this. It’s wonderful and I have to tell you I was having a hard morning and I thought why not start my day over. I came to your channel after doing the heart one hour yoga last week which I also ❤ and lI thought you know what? I feel unsupported and insecure and I have PMS and this was just perfect. Thank you so much for your videos.
Hi Devi, oh this feels soooo good to play with props ! The support offered by the bolster (or combo bolster and blocks) is unrivaled ! I have a question please, for saddle : we place the legs in triang mukha shape, don't we ? Therefore, do you recomend rolling out our calves muscles before lying on the back, to protect the knees ? I do it every time, reminiscence of the ashtanga classes... But I don't know if it's really necessary in yin ! Thank you 🙏🙏
For saddle, your can either sit between your feet or on top of your feet - whichever helps you feel the target areas of sacrum and hip flexors. When sitting between the feet, for some people, rolling the calves out might help deepen the pose, but in general, we do not give this instruction in yin. For some people that adjustment can actually be dangerous on the knee.
Love, love, love these classes. Thank you so much. I can’t do saddle pose at all because of arthritis in my knees. Is there an alternative to this pose that targets the same area but doesn’t put so much pressure on the knees?

My favorite sessions are when we use props. Thank you.
I love the music in the background. It’s a great backdrop for Devi’s soothing voice.

There are a bunch of saddle variations in this video, starting at 40:20: ua-cam.com/video/Kp_sSavN8s8/v-deo.html
@@DeviDalyYoga thank you. These were helpful I think. I’ll try them next time we do saddle.
