Stan and Kyle used to be so mean in early seasons. They were no better than Cartman until Cartman did the impossible in season 5

That’s why it made sense at the time that they were friends with Cartman. I miss that early vibe of them being all shit talking little assholes.
He was always an asshole but I do think Stan and Kyle contributed to Cartman's psychopathic development because of one too many fat jokes and taunting about his nympho mum 😂😂😂😂😂
Kyle is still no better than Cartman. He's just more self-righteous which is unbearable
It probably fit more with their viewpoint on how kids are presented and portrayed as innocent and pure, when much of the time kids are savage little jerks especially to each other

Hearing Chef sing makes me miss the character. I was sad to see Isaac Hayes leave the show. Chef's songs made me smile and laugh every time. His character was awesome.

Highlight of the week when a new video drops
If it makes you feel better a lot of South Park fans like to think that Damian and Pip are good friends! This was Damian’s first and last appearance, in the sense of having a speaking role, and with how similar the 2 characters are, not being accepted, some fans like the idea of them being friends.

Funny enough, apparently, Matt and Trey had never heard of Mega Man when they made this episode, so this was basically meant to be a generic name they chose for a Power Rangers parody.
This is where the show hits an up swing in my opinion, obviously I’ve watched the first 9 a million times but I feel like we watch those out of obligation sometimes obviously Matt and Trey can’t even watch it they despise it, but the overall concept and execution of this episode is where I think they found their groove

Damien has appeared in more episodes in the background just like in the games, but this is the only chapter in which he speaks... I would have liked them to take advantage of the character a little more.
Even though I have seen the entire series several times, with your videos I discover more references that, because I am not American, I didnt understand. So, thanks :)
Fun episode. I rewatched the first few seasons so much when they were first coming out. Hard to believe how far the formula has come. That last bit with Cartman feels more like a "We should tie up the story" kind of feeling rather than ending on a good joke or something. These days they would have done something different.

Mega Man was the O.G. on my Nintendo growing up. Always loved those games. I have a collection that is unfortunately missing a couple titles, namely 6 and X3. This episode always confused me when I was younger because what Cartman was talking about was so obviously not Mega Man, nor did the figure look anything like it but now I realize they probably did that for copyright reasons. Also the little twist of Satan betting on Jesus, classic.

The earlier seasons are both crude in production quality, but the comedy sensibilities in particular are very harsh. Of course this is what got the show such huge attention, which allowed them (both financially and clout inside the network) to make it into what it turned into. And I was really entertained by it at the time (teenage years) so I don't dislike old SP, but it really got way better around season 5. Especially as far as it aging well and being rewatchable.

Since the episode touched on boxing, I just want to use this opportunity to say that George Chuvalo is one of the greatest to ever step into the ring. He went against the heaviest hitters of his time (Foreman, Smokin' Joe, Ali *twice*) and was never knocked out.
Real endurance monster - he went the full number of rounds with Muhammad friggin' Ali, and after their first bout, Ali had to go to the hospital for a ruptured kidney while Chuvalo went dancing with his wife :D Legend.

Yet somehow not as scary as Woodland Critters. Something's so neat about those older episodes though. Red Badge of Gayness, Trapper Keeper 2000, etc. That different kind of Cartman. Also, you really need to see the movie and some more of those Satan episodes ;)
