I use a horsehair brush to get off the loose dirt. Then I use saddle soap to get a good cleaning and use a small clothe to wipe suds off. Then I use conditioner to make it soft and supple. I'll use Fiebing's sole finish along the bottom if needed. The last thing I do is spray a nice waterproofer on it. Every now and then I'll oil the soles with plain vegetable oil.
