My f350 superduty was 30k new. Bought it in 2001 and its still going strong. Manual trans and 6.8 v10. And manual windows and no power locks or cruise control. Rubber flooring and a huge trailer hitch and rubber mat on the bed. I put a fiberglass cover to keep the back dry. Few options and the truck is still very very clean inside and out. The typical price of a superduty was 65k when I bought mine for 30. And it has had very few issues. A loaded truck has a lot of things that can go wrong. Transmissions. Infotainment. Power seats. Cruise , air bag suspension , my truck just works and works.

I used to transport the Canadian export versions of these trucks from the Kansas City plant to the railroad. The Lariat is the luxury version, with the Platinum above that. I loved when I got to drive the top of the line King Ranch. They were amazing! They were also about $85,000 Canadian or $70,000 USD for the MSRP as of 2017 when I was driving them. That 425 HP 3.5L eco boost with the 10 speed automatic transmission could really make those heavy trucks get up and go!

But I prefer to buy new and being the first owner I know what the vehicle has been through. But if no one buys new there will be no used car market for the others. I’ve owned all brands from Chevy, Ford, Dodge, Nissan, Volkswagen & and Toyota And there all made the same plastic parts & thinner steel or aluminum parts. There all going this way. I’ve had buddies Toyota broke down and had to go help. I’ve seen them all broke. Now I’ve never experienced this issues. Because I take car of my vehicle. All brands I’ve owned run and drive fine

With the 5.7 Hemi I can tow a 35 ft travel trailer. Crap gas mileage but it does it fine. I don't know about towing 8000 lbs with a V6, even if it is turbocharged. It might do it but not for 100,000 miles. I am pushing 120,000 miles and still not using any oil. I know, I know you don't like Dodge or the Hemi.
