      I have a 2013 fx4 EcoBoost it had 3 miles on it I have 235,000 and the only time i took it into the dealer was recall stuff minor things and a bad sparkplug gap causing a misfire. I got a lot a flack for buying it but I've never had an issue I hope i can hand it down and keep it in family I've been so impressed with it.

      They are going on 12 years with the 3.5 ecoboost and they keep perfecting them. I wouldn't hesitate to get one if I wanted a new truck. The 2.7s are supposedly so far, are very good. Ford will perfect the ecoboost and are pretty dam good at making them . The 2.7s are going on thier 7th year.

    • @Deveak
      @Deveak 2 місяці тому +3

      When it finally goes, rebuild it. Inline 300s are the gold standard of truck engines. It’s equal or in most cases superior to most diesel engines. 700k is possible with good maintenance, a million if you’re religious about it. A mild engine flush is a good idea and make sure to keep up on coolant, water pumps etc. timing gears should never need touched, a huge reliability boon. Also clean the throttle body out and replace the pcv.

      Congratulations, I remember when in 99 that body style came out and everyone was wondering if the 5.3 would be a high mileage motor. Gm trucks were a big deal when I was a kid in the 90s I grew up in Genesee County Michigan I was about 4 miles out of flint. So gm products I had about 9 family members working for gm and a bunch retired. It was god family gm trucks or hot rods. I talked my brother n law into buying a 2001 GMC Sierra with 243,000 he was apprehensive but it was only 1700$ he had the truck 4 years with 400,000 something now. I hope you get to 1million plus

My mechanic told me that it is worth keeping even if it needs some transmission work down the road.

Starting to get minor glitches now, the back up camera quit working and the shocks are finally giving out. We live 25 miles outside of Fairbanks Alaska and our winters get to -45f some nights. Our truck has never not started due to the cold, but we do have three heaters on it that we plug in. Our oil has been changed every 5000 miles since it was brand new.

    I've always had high mileage vehicle's. Alota folks shy away from them but when ya don't have the best credit and have to pay cash for things ...... ya gotta take what ya can get. I just recently sold my 06 f-150 that had just shy of 300k on it.... and I was lazy on the oil changes...... the transmission made it to 260k before finally going out and when I took it in to be rebuilt the shop was amazed because they said it still had the orginal fluid and filter from the factory.... had never been touched. Currently In my driveway is my 04 Silverado with 265k on it.....and I swear it's been close to a year since I changed the oil in the thing.... and it gets driven 150 miles a day. And just a month ago i picked up a 2010 f-150 platinum with the 5.4 3v with 250k on it...... but beat believe I will stay on top of oil changes on the Ford. I really feel like they mad great trucks in the early mid 2000's......and don't be like me..... change your damn oil! 😂😂😂

    I just saw a review from a 2011 ford f150 ecoboost motor and he turned 400,000 miles in it in 2020. He said coil packs were the only troublesome component he dealt with. The ecoboost issues typically stem from delaying oil changes from the manufacturers recommendations and/or using the incorrect oil viscosity.
