    Im 65, I went this first year with just plain Medicare due to planned traveling abroad. No supplements/Advantage
    plans. I pay $55/month for Delta Dental and good thing because I had my first root canal/crown. My medication thru Aetna is $3.95/month with my copays $19.85/month. Next open enrollment I will reassess. I was shoved into earlier retirement from a traumatic fall so feel my decisions were less than thoroughly researched.
    I cut cable over 10 yrs ago. I still use an old Roku box. 80% of viewing is youtube.
    Really enjoy you and your program. Your zest for life is inspiring😊

    the data is probably a scare tactic. We pay $65 for AT&T and with 3 kids all streaming on their phones, me on the computer, thge wife watching TV, we have never had an issue. Data restrictions are old rules. You may want to switch to a better internet provider.

      I would tend to agree. Also, they should let him see how much of his plan MBytes he has used and be able to forward project his usage.

      That's a great price. Sadly, AT&T internet isn't available in my area.

    • @BuzzRetirementGarage

      No, it may be true. I just looked at my plan at Cox.com and my data limit is 1,280 GB/month. I've come nowhere near that per the daily data chart. But, I would steam 20 hours a day. She turns it on at 6 am and I turn it off at 2 am. I used that data and input into their data calculator and it showed I could use 1,800 GB. If so, I would need to buy the unlimited plan for an additional $50/month. So I would be paying $140/month for just Internet. If accurate, that would force me to use the 250 mb speed instead of the 500 MB that I have now to help offset the increase. This is fun! Buzz

    • @lindab2323
      @lindab2323 Місяць тому +1

      @@BuzzRetirementGarage This is pretty much what I have. Average monthly usage is rarely over 350GB of the 1229MB for my normal browsing, email, UA-cam views, Zoom calls. BUT- Streaming television all day long is a huge data cow, and could EASILY cause you to go over. Definitely another consideration.
      Here are some basic stats for consideration: If you are watching a high-definition stream, you can expect to use 3-4 GB per hour. If you are watching a standard-definition stream, you can expect to use 1-2 GB per hour. And if you are watching an HD stream on a 4K TV, you can expect to use 7-10 GB per hour.
      Like you said - fun, huh?? 🙂

    What I don't like about the advantage plans is for so many things you have to get a preaproval from the plan administrators. And as they're for-profit you know how likely they're going to be to approve anything more than the cheapest option, if even that.
    We didn't have a town drunk but we had a very short elderly woman that always wore a hat and was the world's worst driver. Stop signs and traffic lights were for other people. So everybody knew that you watched out for the "hat that drove a car". She was also loaded, owned about half the property down town, and knew where ALL the bodies were buried. So she was pretty much untouchable in that time and place ;)

The device has to be attached to the router with an ethernet cable. Brian Monahan's UA-cam videos are really good. We are going to stick with Kaiser North HMO Medicare Advantage. We have been with them for over 30 years with both employer and ACA plans and have been happy with them. I wouldn't go with any other Advantage plan because of the many problems that Brian and other agents have documented.

Buzz

I think the biggest risk of being retired is running out of money will be health related. They can't turn you down when you signup at 65.

Not every day but using that math Cox shows i'd use 1,800 GB and they only give me 1,280 or 1.25 TB for my $90/month. Accurate? I don't know. But, I could go over.
