It’s hard not to get emotional when watching this. This was beautiful. Talk about the right tool for the right job. I’m glad I canceled my R5 and proud to say I’m switching to the A7sIII.
Well said! The right camera frees you up, so you can focus on your art and not worry about the technical side of things. We worked so hard on the new a7S III (that's why the launch took years!), so we can't wait for you to get your hands on it! Let us know your thoughts once you've had a chance to explore it.
Sony I Alpha Universe you guys are all legends. Will do. I have to say, my transition from Canon has been hard because I’ve been using them for years, but it seems like you guys really take care of your own. Props to Sony and I will definitely let you know how the Camera performs once I get my hands on it. Thank you!
Canon really blew it with the R5. It’s like they didn’t realize that people would want to shoot continuous high quality video without limitations. All they had to do was offer the 4K HQ mode without overheating and lose the arbitrary time limit. Sony has kicked their ass. I would imagine that over half of the R5 preorders are now being cancelled in favor of the Sony A7sIII. Way to go Sony!
VolvoGuy_ trust me it was pretty tough. To me, I thought about Canon’s autofocus, the lenses, everything. Then I thought about Sony. Thought about how they understand their market and customer base. Sony delivers on promises and responds with everything people have been asking for. I believe there’s no wrong camera either way, but somehow I just trust Sony now. They’re true to their word.
It’s clearly about both. Just because he mentioned the camera doesn’t mean he didn’t appreciate the magnificence of creating this film. The film is moving and makes people want to buy the equipment, even if they will never be able to create such a masterpiece themselves.
Not me crying watching a camera ad... This was so beautiful to watch, I felt the tension trying to get the shot and the resolve just melted me. Amazing and truly inspiring work!
Wow, thank you so much for the gold medal, Matei🏅But we have to give it to Renan, Taylor, Andy, and everyone else involved in this project who gave their all to make this vision a reality!
2020 has been the most difficult year in generations. Thank you to these inspirational filmmakers for your contribution of hope and inspiration to all of us. All of the stumbles and misfires in this film represent what all of us are going through right now, but seeing humanity on a wire under the light of a full moon proves that there’s literal light at the end of this long tunnel. 😎
I am not going to deny it, shed some tears while watching that amazing shot. It is witnessing magic when technology, human creativity and nature collide !

@@SonyAlphaUniverse Can you post images -- like the jpegs taken from the camera from this shot -- online on some photo-sharing website?
agree!
They should post a few raw photos instead of the jpegs to truly see how they look and to judge that they were not edited in post :).
I'm inspired! Such a magical and magnificent shot.

Absolutely amazing. This is the best ‘promotional’ video of any product that I have seen. Hats off to both Sony and Renan for pulling it off.
yours is great work too man.Cheers from himachal
I think I read that the video of the moon with the moonwalker was actually from Taylor. :-)
You've never seen Jean claude van dam Volvo commercial than.
Watch his videos guys "India in Motion", legend in the making

Hey i know you 😂
Peter McKinnon: why don’t you just photoshop it on the background??
So rude but it's good suggestion. 🙄😁
I think they wanted to capture a video of it.
After Effects. hehe. Would be so easy. But its not the same thing I guess.
Petter McCannon rather.
It will be a composite image if they photoshopped it.
😂😂😂 genius
Amazing work.
I wish there was a whole season of these short documentaries based around photo/video work!
That's a great suggestion! We'll see what we can do 😊
Sony I Alpha Universe no way... if you guys really do that I might have to actually subscribe lol
You should watch Tales by Light on Netflix. It's about photography journalists and their projects. Its 3 seasons long too.

I'm speechless. The camera and this film is magical.
This is amazing. The effort that they make and the results. WOW !!!
This is insane!! 🔥🔥 can’t wait to shoot with this one day!
They missed two moons. Why wouldn't you:
1. Use photopills.
OR...
2. Just turn up the night before to get your rough alignment correct.
02:19 That lens is so big you screw the camera on it 😆
Most telephoto lenses are that way, even as small as the 70-200mm ones.
That's not camera. It's a rear cap that can save photo and video
that is very normal for wildlife or milky way photography

why claim he's free soloing the thing when you can literally see the safety leash dangling between his legs?
Why complain when you can’t do anything remotely close
I was wondering about the same thing.
I would guess he practiced a lot with the safety line and did it ones without, but the best shots are with safety line. Just speculating here.
The rope attached to the highline is not his safety leash, it's a backup in case the line would break. When setting up such a highline, every part is doubled or tripled, for additional safety.
